The Great Gildersleeve (1941--1957), initially written by Leonard Lewis Levinson, was one of broadcast history's earliest spin-off programs. Built around Throckmorton Philharmonic Gildersleeve, a character who had been a staple on the classic radio situation comedy Fibber McGee and Molly, first introduced on Oct. 3, 1939, ep. #216. The Great Gildersleeve enjoyed its greatest success in the 1940s. Actor Harold Peary played the character during its transition from the parent show into the spin-off and later in a quartet of feature films released at the height of the show's popularity.
On Fibber McGee and Molly, Peary's Gildersleeve was a pompous windbag who became a consistent McGee nemesis. "You're a haa-aa-aa-aard man, McGee!" became a Gildersleeve catchphrase. The character was given several conflicting first names on Fibber McGee and Molly, and on one episode his middle name was revealed as Philharmonic. Gildy admits as much at the end of "Gildersleeve's Diary" on the Fibber McGee and Molly series (Oct. 22, 1940).
He soon became so popular that Kraft Foods—looking primarily to promote its Parkay margarine spread — sponsored a new series with Peary's Gildersleeve as the central, slightly softened and slightly befuddled focus of a lively new family.
Premiering on August 31, 1941, The Great Gildersleeve moved the title character from the McGees' Wistful Vista to Summerfield, where Gildersleeve now oversaw his late brother-in-law's estate and took on the rearing of his orphaned niece and nephew, Marjorie (originally played by Lurene Tuttle and followed by Louise Erickson and Mary Lee Robb) and Leroy Forester (Walter Tetley). The household also included a cook named Birdie. Curiously, while Gildersleeve had occasionally spoken of his (never-present) wife in some Fibber episodes, in his own series the character was a confirmed bachelor.
In a striking forerunner to such later television hits as Bachelor Father and Family Affair, both of which are centered on well-to-do uncles taking in their deceased siblings' children, Gildersleeve was a bachelor raising two children while, at first, administering a girdle manufacturing company ("If you want a better corset, of course, it's a Gildersleeve") and then for the bulk of the show's run, serving as Summerfield's water commissioner, between time with the ladies and nights with the boys. The Great Gildersleeve may have been the first broadcast show to be centered on a single parent balancing child-rearing, work, and a social life, done with taste and genuine wit, often at the expense of Gildersleeve's now slightly understated pomposity.
Many of the original episodes were co-written by John Whedon, father of Tom Whedon (who wrote The Golden Girls), and grandfather of Deadwood scripter Zack Whedon and Joss Whedon (creator of Buffy the Vampire Slayer, Firefly and Dr. Horrible's Sing-Along Blog).
The key to the show was Peary, whose booming voice and facility with moans, groans, laughs, shudders and inflection was as close to body language and facial suggestion as a voice could get. Peary was so effective, and Gildersleeve became so familiar a character, that he was referenced and satirized periodically in other comedies and in a few cartoons.

Historic Places and Monuments
The most ancient parts of Dhār visible are the massive earthen ramparts which are best preserved on the western and southern sides of the town. These were probably built beginning in the ninth century and show that the city was circular in plan and surrounded by a series of tanks and moats. The layout is similar to the circular city of Warangal in the Deccan. The circular ramparts of Dhār, unique in north India and an important legacy of the Paramāras, is being destroyed by brick-makers and others using the material for construction purposes. On the north-east side of the town, the rampart and moat have disappeared beneath modern homes and other buildings.

Fibber McGee and Molly was an American radio comedy series that maintained its popularity over decades. It premiered on NBC in 1935 and continued until 1959, long after radio had ceased to be the dominant form of entertainment in American popular culture.
Husband and wife in real life
The stars of the program were real-life husband and wife team James "Jim" Jordan (16 November 1896 – 1 April 1988) and Marian Driscoll (15 April 1898 – 7 April 1961), who were natives of Peoria, Illinois.
Jordan was the seventh of eight children born to James Edward Jordan and Mary (née Tighe) Jordan, while Driscoll was the twelfth out of thirteen children born to Daniel P. and Anna (née Carroll) Driscoll. The son of a farmer, Jim wanted to be a singer; Marian, the daughter of a coal miner, wanted to be a music teacher. Both attended the same Catholic church, where they met at choir practice. Marian's parents had attempted to discourage her professional singing and acting aspirations. When she started seeing young Jim Jordan, the Driscolls were far from approving of Jim and his ideas. Jim's voice teacher gave him a recommendation for work as a professional in Chicago, and he followed it. He was able to have steady work but soon tired of the life on the road. In less than a year, Jim came back to Peoria and went to work for the Post Office. His profession was now acceptable to Marian's parents, and they stopped objecting to the couple's marriage plans. The pair were married in Peoria on August 31, 1918.

It was my last destination in Shanghai. I never forget the memory of Shanghai Tower. What a beautiful Tower Shanghai is! I was astonished when I saw the speed of lift of Shanghai Tower. Do you know what the speed is? The speed is per hour 73.8 km that means to lift 118 of 128 th floor you need only 45 seconds!!!! So it’s incredible!!! This lift was developed by Mitsubishi. When you will be the 118th floor of the 128th floor in the observation deck, you will feel that car is toys!!!!

Another major attraction is ‘Bandar Kodini’, when one travels in between the marble rocks in a boat, the mountains at both the sides at one point come so close that the monkeys are able to jump across them, hence the name “Bandar Kodini”. In a moonlit night, the travel between the marble rock mountains in a boat on the river Narmada is one of the popular tourist attractions here.

In local parlance, the name 'Munsiyari' refers to a 'place with snow'. Situated on the banks of Goriganga river, it is a fast-growing tourist destination, and mountaineers, glacier enthusiasts, high altitude trekkers and nature lovers commonly use it as their hub or base camp. Munsiyari also falls on the ancient salt route from Tibet and is at the entrance of the Johar Valley, which extends along the path of the Gori Ganga river to its source at the
Milam Glacier.

It offers stunning views of snow capped higher Himalayan ranges. The fort, plainly known as Chittor, was the capital of Mewar and is today situated several kilometres by road south of Bhilwara. It was ruled initially by Guhilot and later by Sisodias, the Suryavanshi clans of Chattari Rajputs, from 7th century, until it was finally abandoned in 1568 after the siege by Emperor Akbar in 1567. It sprawls majestically over a hill 180 m (590.6 ft) in height spread over an area of 280 ha (691.9 acres) above the plains of the valley drained by the Berach River. The fort precinct with an evocative history is studded with a series of historical palaces, gates, temples and two prominent commemoration towers. These monumental ruins have inspired the imagination of tourists and writers for centuries.[1][2][3]
The fort was sacked three times between 15th and 16th centuries; in 1303 Allauddin Khilji defeated Rana Ratan Singh, in 1535 Bahadur Shah, the Sultan of Gujarat defeated Bikramjeet Singh and in 1567 Emperor Akbar defeated Maharana Udai Singh II who left the fort and founded Udaipur. Each time the men fought bravely rushing out of the fort walls charging the enemy but lost every time. Following these defeats, Jauhar was committed thrice by more than 13,000 ladies and children of the Rajput heroes who laid their lives in battles at Chittorgarh Fort, first led by Rani Padmini wife of Rana Rattan Singh who was killed in the battle in 1303, and later by Rani Karnavati in 1537 AD.[1][2][4]
Thus, the fort represents the quintessence of tribute to the nationalism, courage, medieval chivalry and sacrifice exhibited by the Mewar rulers of Sisodia and their kinsmen and women and children, between the 7th century and 16th century. The rulers, their soldiers, the women folk of royalty and the commoners considered death as a better option than dishonor in the face of surrender to the foreign invading armies.[1][4]

Do you know what the speed is? The speed is per hour 73.8 km that means to lift 118 of 128 th floor you need only 45 seconds!!!!
So it’s incredible!!! This lift was developed by Mitsubishi. When you will be the 118th floor of the 128th floor in the observation deck, you will feel that car is toys!!!!

Vast, apparently unending and sparking blue, the Rewalsar lake on a sunny day is a rare beauty. The lake remains calm all year round and truly comes to life when the mercury rises during the stifling summer. Surrounded by rugged mountains on all sides, this scenic lake is located at an altitude of 1,360 m above sea level and around 22.5 kilometres away from Mandi. The lake is square in shape and is sprawls over an area of 735 m.
Considered as one of the most sacred lakes of Himachal Pradesh, Rewalsar Lake is revered by the people of different religions- Hindu, Sikh, Buddhist. Tibetan Buddhist calls it by the name of Tso-Pema, the lotus lake. Legend has it that the king of Mandi tried to kill Guru Padmasambhava when he got to know that his daughter Mandarava is running off with him. The king tried to ruin their love by cursing them to die in a fire. By using his supernatural powers, Padmasambhava transformed the funeral pyre into a lake of sesame oil, surrounded by a ring of fire. In the middle of the fire bloomed a huge lotus flower on which Guru Padmasambhava was seated surrounded by rainbows and clouds. People even say that the Guru Padmasambhava's (Guru Rinpoche) spirit resides in this lake in the form of a tiny reed flowing in the river.
Overlooking the lake, there is a 12 m-high statue of Padmasambhava, which is the main attraction of the place. Next to the lake there are three temples which are dedicated to Lord Krishna, Lord Shiva and the sage Lomas. The lake is also home to the Drikung Kagyu Gompa which is an academy for Buddhist studies and houses a Sakyamuni statue. Beyond that there is a Gurudwara dedicated to Guru Gobind Singh, the tenth Guru of Sikhism. The Guru Gobind Singh Gurudwara was built in 1930 to honor Guru Gobind Singh ji's visit in 1738 to Rewalsar.
Other important pilgrimage sites nearby the lake are Padmasambhava Cave, Naina Devi Temple, Zigar Drukpa Kagyud Institute, Drikung Kagyud Gompa, Jigar Monastery, Kunt Bhyog and six other lakes which are associated with an epic episode of Mahabharata where an attempt was made to kill 'Pandavas' in the palace of wax. Every year, the place shrugs off its calm during the months of the Sisu and Baisakhi festival. If a tourist wants to step away from the city for a quiet getaway, then they must include Naina Devi Temple is situated in Sarkidhar of Mandi distt of Himachal Pradesh. You can reach Naina Devi Temple easily by bus. You can take bus from Rewalsar at 12.30 pm. This is the only way to reach Naina Devi Temple.Naina Devi Temple is situated in Sarkidhar of Mandi distt of Himachal Pradesh.

Next to the lake there are three temples which are dedicated to Lord Krishna, Lord Shiva and the sage Lomas. The lake is also home to the Drikung Kagyu Gompa which is an academy for Buddhist studies and houses a Sakyamuni statue. Beyond that there is a Gurudwara dedicated to Guru Gobind Singh, the tenth Guru of Sikhism. The Guru Gobind Singh Gurudwara was built in 1930 to honor Guru Gobind Singh ji's visit in 1738 to Rewalsar.
Other important pilgrimage sites nearby the lake are Padmasambhava Cave, Naina Devi Temple, Zigar Drukpa Kagyud Institute, Drikung Kagyud Gompa, Jigar Monastery, Kunt Bhyog and six other lakes which are associated with an epic episode of Mahabharata where an attempt was made to kill 'Pandavas' in the palace of wax. Every year, the place shrugs off its calm during the months of the Sisu and Baisakhi festival. If a tourist wants to step away from the city for a quiet getaway, then they must include Naina Devi Temple is situated in Sarkidhar of Mandi distt of Himachal Pradesh. You can reach Naina Devi Temple easily by bus. You can take bus from Rewalsar at 12.30 pm. This is the only way to reach Naina Devi Temple.Naina Devi Temple is situated in Sarkidhar of Mandi distt of Himachal Pradesh.
SAR KI DHAR is 12 km away from Rewalsar. It (sar ki dhar) is a beautiful town and is known for its SEVEN LAKES which are known as SAAT SAR.
