Joseph Fidler "Joe" Walsh (born November 20, 1947) is an American singer, songwriter, composer, multi-instrumentalist and record producer. In a career spanning more than 40 years, Walsh has been a member of five successful rock bands: James Gang, Barnstorm, the Eagles, The Party Boys, and Ringo Starr & His All-Starr Band. In the 1990s, he was also a member of the short-lived supergroup The Best. He has also experienced success both as a solo artist and prolific session musician, being featured on a wide array of other artists' recordings. In 2011, Rolling Stone placed Walsh at the number 54 spot on its list of "100 Greatest Guitarists of All Time."
In the middle 1960s, after attending Kent State University, Walsh played with several local Ohio-based bands before reaching a national audience as a member of the James Gang, whose hit song "Funk #49" highlighted Walsh's skill as both a guitarist and vocalist. After the James Gang broke up in 1972, Walsh formed a band, Barnstorm, with Joe Vitale, a college friend of Walsh's from Ohio, and Kenny Passarelli, a bassist from Colorado, where Walsh had settled as his home after leaving Ohio. While the band would stay together for three albums over three years, their works were marketed as Walsh solo projects. The last Barnstorm album, 1974's So What contained significant guest contributions from several members of the Eagles, a group that had recently hired Walsh's producer, Bill Szymczyk.
Rocky Mountain Way is a compilation album released in 1985 by rock musician Joe Walsh.
Writing retrospectively for AllMusic, critic Ben Davies wrote of the album "considering both the amount of classic Walsh songs not featured on Rocky Mountain Way and the many other more extensive and better chosen best-ofs available, this release is rather pointless."
All songs by Joe Walsh, except where noted.
The Rocky Mountains, commonly known as the Rockies, are a major mountain range in western North America. The Rocky Mountains stretch more than 3,000 miles (4,800 km) from the northernmost part of British Columbia, in western Canada, to New Mexico, in the southwestern United States. Within the North American Cordillera, the Rockies are somewhat distinct from the Pacific Coast Ranges and the Cascade Range and Sierra Nevada which all lie further to the west.
The Rocky Mountains were initially formed from 80 million to 55 million years ago during the Laramide orogeny, in which a number of plates began to slide underneath the North American plate. The angle of subduction was shallow, resulting in a broad belt of mountains running down western North America. Since then, further tectonic activity and erosion by glaciers have sculpted the Rockies into dramatic peaks and valleys. At the end of the last ice age, humans started to inhabit the mountain range. After Europeans, such as Sir Alexander Mackenzie and Americans, such as the Lewis and Clark expedition, started to explore the range, minerals and furs drove the initial economic exploitation of the mountains, although the range itself never became densely populated.
"Life's Been Good" is a 1978 song by Joe Walsh, which first appeared on the soundtrack to the film FM. The original eight-minute version was released on Walsh's album But Seriously, Folks..., and an edited 4½ minute single version peaked at #12 on the US Billboard Hot 100, remaining his biggest solo hit.
In the song, Walsh satirically reflects “I lost my license, now I don’t drive.” ("My Maserati does 185 (mph) / I lost my license, now I don't drive"). The antics of rock stars of the era are reflected, such as the nod to Keith Moon and others: "I live in hotels/Tear out the walls."
The 1979 Rolling Stone Record Guide called it "riotous", and "(maybe) the most important statement on rock stardom anyone has made in the late Seventies."
"Life's Been Good" has a mid-tempo, reggae-like groove marked by bedrock guitar riffs, synthesizers, and humorous lyrics. Walsh's ARP Odyssey synthesizer riff accompanies the lead guitar in the middle of the song. The lead guitar in the outro is accompanied by the main riff. Bill Szymczyk and Jody Boyer perform the backing vocals.

I've been asked to create a short vignette showcasing the multiuser capacity of Android operating system that would live on the Nexus 7 web page. I decided to abstract the concept of multiple users sharing the device and build a video around the practical split-screen composition. Visually, we kept the look of the rest of Nexus 7 creative (top-down photography), but figured that if it's worth doing, it's worth over-doing. Rather than shooting photographs and animating them in post, we filmed all the movements live, giving the scenes a sense of depth through the parallax effect. A total of 10 archetypes were created, each with two sets filmed (left and right) -- giving us 100 possible pairings. We filmed each of them using a camera suspended vertically from a dolly rail. THE TREATMENT When we first listened to 'See' we immediately began thinking about perspective and what it means to have sight. We wanted to explore the difference between the perceived and the actual that constantly exist within each of us. We wanted to push the defined limits of vision both naturally and through technological enhancements. The resulting film presents the story of a woman living two parallel existences, expressed through rich, low-contrast visuals that complement the dreamy and lucid feel of "See".. Our female hero awakens and begins her journeys through a series of stunning environments. There are moments when we see through her stylized point of view, where her world is markedly more mystical, filled with shamanic rituals, hypnotic runes and an elusive, enigmatic stran...

Sometimes I can't help the feeling that I'm
living a life of illusion
And oh, why can't we let it be
And see thru the hole in
this wall of confusion
I just can't help the feeling I'm
living a life of illusion
Pow, right between the eyes
Oh, how nature loves her little surprises
Wow, it all seems so logical now
It's just one of her better disguises
And it comes with no warning
nature loves her little surprises
Continual crisis
(instrumental)
Hey, don't you know it's a waste of your day
Caught up in endless solutions
That have no meaning, just another hunch
Based upon jumping conclusions
Caught up in endless solutions
Backed up against a wall of confusion
