Treatment Plant Tour & Wetland Activities

Get a behind the scenes tour of the Budd Inlet Treatment Plant and see what happens to the water you send down the drain! Presentation followed by a tour begins at 1 pm. Tour participants must be 10 or older and wear sturdy closed shoes. Wetland related activities throughout the day.

Visit the Children’s Museum next door 9-11 am. Then 11 am-1 pm, visit the WET Center to enjoy a variety of activities, crafts, hand fidgets, a book nook, quiet spaces for taking a break, and all of our hands-on exhibits. In honor of Volcano Preparedness Month, join an interpretive ranger for a 2 pm presentation on the monumental eruption of Mount St. Helens on May 18, 1980. The talk will cover activity leading up to the eruption, events during the eruption, and the remarkable recovery process after. Also hear about the quirks of staffing a visitor center – it’s a blast working at an active volcano! Related crafts and activities all day.
