Brave is the third studio album by Australian singer-songwriter Kate Ceberano, and was her first solo foray into pop after two previously more adult-oriented albums. The album was released in early 1989 by Regular Records. ARIA has certified the album for triple platinum sales in Australia.
A mix of contemporary pop and dance tracks and soul covers, Brave became a major success in the Australian charts, firmly establishing Ceberano as one of Australia's premier artists, and would become the most commercially successful album of her solo career.
Brave also established Ceberano's role as a chameleon of sorts, following on from successful jazz and adult oriented releases, Brave seemed to, in part, pay homage to her dance roots as a vocalist in Australian band I'm Talking, whilst also incorporating more adult oriented fare.
The album spawned a succession of four Top 40 singles; "Bedroom Eyes", "Love Dimension", "Brave"/"Young Boys Are My Weakness" and "That's What I Call Love", all of which achieved strong rotation on Australian radio and helped propel the album to triple platinum status.
"Brave" is a song performed by American recording artist Kelis, taken from her fifth studio album, Flesh Tone. The up-tempo electro-dance song was written by Kelis, will.i.am, Jean Baptiste and James Fauntleroy, and produced by Benny Benassi and Alle Benassi. It was released on 6 January 2011, as the album's fourth single by will.i.am music and Interscope Records. Kelis has also re-recorded the track in 'simlish' for video game The Sims 3: Late Night.
A music video, directed by Rankin, for the single was uploaded to YouTube on November 19, 2010. The video shows a still camera of Kelis, wearing a white top with a white background behind her with the camera moving while a large beat is being played.
Brave is the seventh studio album by Marillion, released in 1994. It charted at number 10 on the UK Albums Chart, being the last of the band's albums to reach the Top 10.
Raw ranked Brave as one of the 20 greatest albums of 1994. In 2000 it was selected by Classic Rock as one of the "30 Best Albums of the 90s", and in 2003 as one of "Rock's 30 Greatest Concept Albums".
After trying and failing to reach a wider audience with Holidays in Eden, Marillion figured it was time to go back to their roots and make a more progressive rock-oriented album again. Brave is a concept album, based on a news story Steve Hogarth heard on the radio about a girl who was taken into police custody after being found wandering the Severn Bridge. She did not know who she was, where she came from and refused to even speak. This inspired Hogarth to write a fictional story about this girl and what might have led to her being on the Severn Bridge in this state.
The band relocated to Marouatte castle in France for the duration of the recording of Brave. The influence of these surroundings can be heard throughout the album in a lot of haunting atmospherics. They even went into a cave which lay in the nearby area and taped some cave sounds which were used as background ambiance on the album. This recording concept was later used by Radiohead for their OK Computer album. As engineer, they recruited Dave Meegan, who had previously worked with Marillion on Fugazi. As for EMI, they really wanted the band to do a 'quick record' to gain some revenue, but this project progressively escalated, taking the band nine months to write and produce, partly because of Meegan who would go through 'every single new tape made every day' each night listening for any riff or melody which sounded good enough to be included in the songs. This hard and tedious work paid off in the end.

But I am safe in your arms I listen as you say
"I'm proud of who you've become
and the person you will be tomorrow..."
And I know I would give anything up for you...
I'll follow through I promise to hold on
I'll never let go won't let you down
If you can stay proud I'll be brave somehow...
I am not that brave
Sometimes I need to hear you whisper
"Everything's O.K... You'll be fine
I'll help you find your way..."
And I have nothing but faith in you
All that I am is what you are and we are
I would give anything up for you...
I'll follow through I promise to hold on

If you can stay proud I'll be brave somehow...
Whisper... You can save me I am listening
I am waiting for your best to come alive
And help me understand the reasons why
I'm here now living a feeling unlike my fear
Outside of this life I am here now for you...
