Unlike most virtual reality captures of landscapes, sporting events or concerts, The Lion King’s allows viewers to experience “Circle of Life” from the actors’ point of view and see activity otherwise invisible to an audience. The camera allows viewers – in a seamless 360° sweep – to experience the number from within it, completely surrounded by the 31 cast members onstage, Julie Taymor’s eye-popping puppets and masks, the audience seated in the Minskoff Theatre auditorium, set pieces flying in from above and actors emerging from two floors below the stage as Pride Rock rises up to present Mufasa, Rafiki and baby Simba. The virtual reality technology enables viewers to choose where to look at every point, inviting repeat viewings of the video to take in every possible vantage point.

NEW AMSTERDAM THEATRE AT JULY 23 PERFORMANCE
(Thursday, July 23, 2015) Earlier tonight at the New Amsterdam Theatre, home to Disney’s Tony Award®-winning hit musical Aladdin, the show welcomed its one millionth guest since beginning performances on Broadway on February 26, 2014. Stephanie Lubin, a medical student from Melville, Long Island, was surprised with two round trip Delta One™ tickets on Delta Air Lines between the US and Europe and a complimentary three night stay for up to ten guests in Tuscany, Italy at the Casale I Bianchi-Toscana Resort Castelfalfi, “the elegance of simplicity, the comfort of luxury,” in partnership with luxury villa provider Villas of Distinction.
Stephanie’s guest for the evening, high school sweetheart Kevin Sparaco, had suggested the two try the daily lotto for day-of Aladdin tickets. Stephanie won the couple a pair of tickets at the lotto, and as their tickets were scanned upon entering the theatre, the usher discovered that Stephanie was the one millionth guest. Aladdin cast members Jennifer Rias and Angelo Soriano surprised them with confetti, sashes and champagne, and the couple was upgraded to premium orchestra seats. At the curtain call, Aladdin’s Tony-winning Genie, James Monroe Iglehart, granted the final wish, the trip and villa in Tuscany, in front of the entire audience.

The Lion King
The Lion King is a 1994 American animated epic musical film produced by Walt Disney Feature Animation and released by Walt Disney Pictures. It is the 32nd animated feature in the Walt Disney Animated Classics series. The story takes place in a kingdom of lions in Africa, and was influenced by William Shakespeare's Hamlet. The film was produced during a period known as the Disney Renaissance. The Lion King was directed by Roger Allers and Rob Minkoff, produced by Don Hahn, and has a screenplay credited to Irene Mecchi, Jonathan Roberts and Linda Woolverton. Its original songs were written by composer Elton John and lyricist Tim Rice, and original scores were written by Hans Zimmer. Upon maturation living with two wastrels, Simba is given some valuable perspective from his childhood friend, Nala, and his shaman, Rafiki, before returning to challenge Scar to end his tyranny.

Circle of Life
"Circle of Life" is a song from Disney's 1994 animated film The Lion King. Composed by Elton John, with lyrics by Tim Rice, the song was performed by Carmen Twillie (the deep female lead vocals) and Lebo M. (opening Zulu vocals) as the film's opening song. In an interview, Rice said he was amazed at the speed with which John composed: "I gave him the lyrics at the beginning of the session at about two in the afternoon. By half-past three, he'd finished writing and recording a stunning demo." Elton John sang a pop version of the song with the London Community Gospel Choir, which was included in the film's soundtrack and made into a music video. "Circle of Life" was nominated for the Academy Award for Best Song in 1994, along with two other songs from The Lion King: "Hakuna Matata" and "Can You Feel the Love Tonight" which won the award.
The song reached #11 in the UK and #18 in the United States, and is featured frequently in attractions based on The Lion King, such as Disney theme parks and parades. Michael Crawford sang it as part of a medley for The Disney Album in 2001.

Tony Award
The Antoinette Perry Award for Excellence in Theatre, more commonly known informally as the Tony Award, recognizes achievement in live Broadway theatre. The awards are presented by the American Theatre Wing and The Broadway League at an annual ceremony in New York City. The awards are given for Broadway productions and performances, and an award is given for regional theatre. Several discretionary non-competitive awards are also given, including a Special Tony Award, the Tony Honors for Excellence in Theatre, and the Isabelle Stevenson Award. The awards are named after Antoinette Perry, co-founder of the American Theatre Wing.
The rules for the Tony Awards are set forth in the official document "Rules and Regulations of The American Theatre Wing's Tony Awards", which applies for that season only. The Tony Awards are considered the highest U.S. theatre honor, the New York theatre industry's equivalent to the Academy Awards (Oscars) for motion pictures, the Grammy Awards for music and the Emmy Awards for television, and the Laurence Olivier Award for theatre in the United Kingdom and the Molière Award of France.

ALADDIN WELCOMES ONE MILLIONTH GUEST TO BROADWAY’S NEW AMSTERDAM THEATRE AT JULY 23 PERFORMANCE (Thursday, July 23, 2015) Earlier tonight at the New Amsterdam Theatre, home to Disney’s Tony Award®-winning hit musical Aladdin, the show welcomed its one millionth guest since beginning performances on Broadway on February 26, 2014. Stephanie Lubin, a medical student from Melville, Long Island, was surprised with two round trip Delta One™ tickets on Delta Air Lines between the US and Europe and a complimentary three night stay for up to ten guests in Tuscany, Italy at the Casale I Bianchi-Toscana Resort Castelfalfi, “the elegance of simplicity, the comfort of luxury,” in partnership with luxury villa provider Villas of Distinction. Stephanie’s guest for the evening, high school sweetheart Kevin Sparaco, had suggested the two try the daily lotto for day-of Aladdin tickets. Stephanie won the couple a pair of tickets at the lotto, and as their tickets were scanned upon entering the theatre, the usher discovered that Stephanie was the one millionth guest. Aladdin cast members Jennifer Rias and Angelo Soriano surprised them with confetti, sashes and champagne, and the couple was upgraded to premium orchestra seats. At the curtain call, Aladdin’s Tony-winning Genie, James Monroe Iglehart, granted the final wish, the trip and villa in Tuscany, in front of the entire audience. -

NEW AMSTERDAM THEATRE AT JULY 23 PERFORMANCE
(Thursday, July 23, 2015) Earlier tonight at the New Amsterdam Theatre, home to Disney’s Tony Award®-winning hit musical Aladdin, the show welcomed its one millionth guest since beginning performances on Broadway on February 26, 2014. Stephanie Lubin, a medical student from Melville, Long Island, was surprised with two round trip Delta One™ tickets on Delta Air Lines between the US and Europe and a complimentary three night stay for up to ten guests in Tuscany, Italy at the Casale I Bianchi-Toscana Resort Castelfalfi, “the elegance of simplicity, the comfort of luxury,” in partnership with luxury villa provider Villas of Distinction.
Stephanie’s guest for the evening, high school sweetheart Kevin Sparaco, had suggested the two try the daily lotto for day-of Aladdin tickets. Stephanie won the couple a pair of tickets at the lotto, and as their tickets were scanned upon entering the theatre, the usher discovered that Stephanie was the one millionth guest. Aladdin cast members Jennifer Rias and Angelo Soriano surprised them with confetti, sashes and champagne, and the couple was upgraded to premium orchestra seats. At the curtain call, Aladdin’s Tony-winning Genie, James Monroe Iglehart, granted the final wish, the trip and villa in Tuscany, in front of the entire audience.

Disney World may be the happiest place on earth, but Orlando, Florida, has a lot more to offer than just theme parks. If you want to get off the tourist track a bit, here are five sights you don't want to miss.
5. Lake Eola. This beautiful park is right in the heart of downtown, and it's the perfect place for a stroll or a paddleboat ride.
4. Mall at Millennia. Upscale shopping in the city's prettiest mall--spend a fortune or just enjoy the window shopping.
