In musical terminology, tempo [ˈtɛmpo] ("time" in Italian; plural: tempi [ˈtɛmpi]) is the speed or pace of a given piece or subsection thereof.
A piece of music's tempo is typically written at the start of the score, and in modern Western music is usually indicated in beats per minute (BPM). This means that a particular note value (for example, a quarter note, or crotchet) is specified as the beat, and that the amount of time between successive beats is a specified fraction of a minute. The greater the number of beats per minute, the smaller the amount of time between successive beats, and thus faster a piece must be played. For example, a tempo of 60 beats per minute signifies one beat per second, while a tempo of 120 beats per minute is twice as rapid, signifying one beat every 0.5 seconds. Mathematical tempo markings of this kind became increasingly popular during the first half of the 19th century, after the metronome had been invented by Johann Nepomuk Maelzel, although early metronomes were somewhat inconsistent. Beethoven was one of the first composers to use the metronome; in the 1810s he published metronomic indications for the eight symphonies he had composed up to that time. for example a minum has a 2 seconds
Vincent Willem van Gogh (Dutch: [ˈvɪnsɛnt ˈʋɪləm vɑn ˈɣɔx]; (30 March 1853 – 29 July 1890) was a Dutch post-Impressionist painter whose work had far-reaching influence on 20th-century art. His paintings include portraits, self portraits, landscapes, still lifes, olive trees and cypresses, wheat fields and sunflowers. He was largely ignored by critics until after his early death in 1890. The only substantial exhibitions held during his lifetime were showcases in Paris and Brussels. The first published full-length article came in 1890, when Albert Aurier described him as a Symbolist. The widespread and popular realisation of his significance in the history of modern art did not begin until his adoption by the Fauves and German Expressionists in the mid-1910s.
Vincent van Gogh was born to upper middle class parents and spent his early adulthood working for a firm of art dealers before travelling to The Hague, London and Paris, after which he taught in England at Isleworth and Ramsgate. Although he drew as a child, he did not paint until his late twenties; most of his best-known works were completed during the last two years of his life. He was deeply religious as a younger man and aspired to be a pastor and from 1879 worked as a missionary in a mining region in Belgium where he sketched people from the local community. His first major work was 1885's The Potato Eaters, from a time when his palette mainly consisted of sombre earth tones and showed no sign of the vivid colouration that distinguished his later paintings. In March 1886 he relocated to Paris and discovered the French Impressionists.
C minor (abbreviated c or Cm) is a minor scale based on C, consisting of the pitches C, D, E♭, F, G, A♭, and B♭. The harmonic minor raises the B♭ to B♮. Changes needed for the melodic and harmonic versions of the scale are written in with naturals and accidentals as necessary.
Its key signature consists of three flats. Its relative major is E-flat major, and its parallel major is C major.
In the Baroque period, music in C minor was usually written with a two-flat key signature, and some modern editions of that repertoire retain that convention.
Of the two piano concertos that Mozart wrote in a minor key, one of them (No. 24, K. 491) is in C minor.
C minor has been associated with heroic struggle since Beethoven's time. Beethoven wrote some of his most characteristic works in the key of C minor, including the Symphony No. 5 and no fewer than three piano sonatas. (See Beethoven and C minor.)
Brahms's first symphony and first string quartet were composed in C minor; these were both genres with which Beethoven was closely associated during Brahms's lifetime.

At Palais Rasumofsky, Vienna, 1983-1984 Daniel Barenboim - piano Ludwig van Beethoven - Sonata No. 12 in A-flat major, Op. 26 0:19 Andante con variazioni 9:20 Scherzo: Allegro molto 12:06 Marcia funebre 18:54 Allegro Composed between 1800 and 1801, the Sonatas Nos. 11-13 bridge two very different periods in Beethoven's piano sonatas. Scholar Charles Rosen has described the Sonata No. 11 in B-flat major, Op. 22 (composed in 1800) as the composer's 'farewell to the eighteenth century'. lt was for Beethoven the culmination of the older classical style. With the Sonata No. 12 in A flat major, Op. 26 on the other hand, Beethoven departs from tradition. Published in Vienna in 1802, only the last movement, a Rondo allegro, is in a conventional form. The third movement, a funeral march 'for an u...
History (based on the Grove Dictionary of Music): While primarily remembered today for his trio of tone poems in praise of Rome's fountains, pines and holidays, Ottorino Respighi's (1879-1936) career was initially built upon transcriptions of early music. Beginning with the Suite in G, a tribute to late Baroque styles, and the long-winded Concerto all'antica (1908), this attraction to the then virtually unknown world of early music would serve as a constant source of inspiration for the composer (though not all of Respighi's attempts at neobaroque were met with praise: in particular, the adaptation of Monteverdi's "Orfeo" (1934) has been condemned as "an opulent vulgarization of... the original"). However, most of his efforts are justly highly regarded, particularly the winsome "Gli uccell...
P.S. I have been trying to use paintings of higher quality for my recent uploads, so I would advise you to use the full screen mode of the player for full effect :). Painting: "Valentine of Milan mourning her husband, the Duke of Orleans" by Francois Fleury-Richard. History: Just as in the case of one of the instrumental pieces that I have uploaded several days ago (namely, Donizetti's virtually unknown but still enchantingly sublime oboe concerto) the genesis of the presented piece is a bit of a mystery for me, as I was not able to find any extensive information concerning its composition. Moreover, the identity of the composer himself (or herself) seems to be dubious: while the variations are attributed to Handel, the late publication of the piece (1826, almost seventy years after ...

This is an incredible sounding Dofra Mandolin was made in West Germany by the Franz Dotzauer company. They are 5th generation mandolin makers and make beautiful sounding and looking instruments. Small in size it is very warm sounding with nice balanced lows, mids and highs. It rings and sustains much more than the typical bluegrass mandolin. It has a zero fret and the intonation is great. It plays with ease up and down the neck. It's almost like a Mercedes of mandolins. Year unknown as I don't know how to date it.

It may be an apocryphal story, but it is said that an unknown composer transcribed Beethoven's Piano Trio, Op. 1 No. 3 into a quintet setting. It came into Beethoven's hands and after making a few corrections he sent it off to the publisher as Op. 104. This is typical Beethoven audacity and should be true even if it's not. Johannes Brahms - Brahms - Piano Quintet in F minor Op.34 - II. Andante un poco adagio (performed by unknown) Johannes Brahms (German: [jo?han?s ?b?a?ms]; 7 May 1833 -- 3 April 1897) was a German composer and pianist. Born in Hamburg into a Lutheran family, Brahms spent much of his professional life in Vienna, Austria, where he was a leader of the musical scene. In his lifetime, Brahms's popularity and influence were considerable; following a comment by the nineteenth-century conductor Hans von Bülow, he is sometimes grouped with Johann Sebastian Bach and Ludwig van Beethoven as one of the "Three Bs". Brahms composed for piano, chamber ensembles, symphony orchestra, and for voice and chorus. A virtuoso pianist, he premiered many of his own works; he worked with some of the leading perform...

Their names: Daniel Barenboim, ltzhak Perlman, Pinchas Zukerman, Jacqueline du Pré and Zubin Mehta. The concert took place on August 30th and I guessed that it would pass into legend in time.
