Wrigley Field /ˈrɪɡli/ is a baseball park located on the North Side of Chicago, Illinois, United States. It is the home of the Chicago Cubs, one of the city's two Major League Baseball (MLB) franchises.
It was built in 1914 as Weeghman Park for the Chicago Federal League baseball team, the Chicago Whales. The Cubs played their first game at Weeghman Park on April 20, 1916, defeating the Cincinnati Reds 7–6 in eleven innings. In November 1918, Weeghman resigned as team president. Chewing gum magnate William Wrigley, Jr. acquired complete control of the Cubs by 1921. It was called Cubs Park from 1920 through 1926, before officially becoming Wrigley Field for the 1927 season.
Located in the north side community area of Lakeview, Wrigley Field sits on an irregular block bounded by Clark (west) and Addison (south) Streets and Waveland (north) and Sheffield (east) Avenues. Wrigley Field is nicknamed The Friendly Confines, a phrase popularized by "Mr. Cub", Hall of Famer Ernie Banks. The current seating capacity is 42,495. It is the oldest National League ballpark, the second-oldest active major league ballpark (after Fenway Park on April 20, 1912), and the only remaining Federal League park.

The World Series is the annual championship series of Major League Baseball (MLB) in North America, contested since 1903 between the American League (AL) champion team and the National League (NL) champion. Prior to 1969, the team with the best win-loss record in each league automatically advanced to the World Series; since then each league has conducted a championship series (ALCS and NLCS) preceding the World Series to determine which teams will advance. As of 2015, the World Series has been contested 111 times, with the AL winning 64 and the NL winning 47. The winner of the World Series championship is determined through a best-of-seven playoff and the winning team is awarded the Commissioner's Trophy. As the series is played in October (and occasionally November), during the autumn season in North America, it is often referred to as the Fall Classic.
The 2015 World Series took place between the New York Mets and the victorious Kansas City Royals. Five games were played, with the Royals victorious after game five, played in New York. The final score was 7-2; the game went into extra innings after a tied score of 2-2. This was the second World Series won by the franchise and the first in 30 years.
Dead & Company is a band consisting of former Grateful Dead members Bob Weir (guitar), Mickey Hart (drums), and Bill Kreutzmann (drums), along with John Mayer (guitar), Oteil Burbridge (bass), and Jeff Chimenti (keyboards).
Dead & Company was formed in 2015 following the hugely successful Fare Thee Well concerts performed by the surviving members of the Grateful Dead. They initially announced only one concert date on October 31, 2015 at Madison Square Garden in New York but announced a full tour shortly afterwards.
John Mayer expressed a particularly strong enthusiasm toward playing with the new band.Phil Lesh, the original bassist for the Grateful Dead, did not join.Mike Gordon of Phish briefly auditioned for the role but had to withdraw due to being too busy with other matters.
Following the band's final 2015 performance on December 31, 2015 John Mayer told fans that they could expect more Dead & Company concerts in 2016 and this was confirmed by Bob Weir when he was interviewed on Periscope. The band initially had one performance confirmed for 2016 at the Bonnaroo Music Festival but announced a full summer tour on February 8, 2016.
I didn't snag many baseballs, but I *did* wander all over the stadium and try some delicious food. Wrigley Field is tough! And crowded. And expensive. But fun. This video was filmed on September 1, 2016 and edited by Brandon Sloter. Thanks for watching/subscribing.
Wrigley Field has changed significantly since it opened in 1914. For more video, visit http://chicagotribune.com/video, subscribe to this channel, or follow us @TribVideo.
Gorgeous day on the north side of Chicago as the WORLD CHAMPION Cubs took on the Pittsburgh Pirates. I snagged a few baseballs during batting practice, and then as I often do at Wrigley Field, I wandered all over the place and explored the ballpark. This game took place on July 8, 2017. Thanks to Brandon Sloter for filming and editing. Thanks to YOU for watching and subscribing.
