National Planning Commission and the UN in Ethiopia hosted a one-day stakeholders’ dialogue to promote increased engagement in Ethiopia on the monitoring, evaluation and reporting processes around the Sustainable Development Goal 16.
The European Union and United Nations Development Programme(UNDP) have launched a three-year project to address the drivers of conflict and instability, irregular migration and displacement in the cross-border areas of the Horn of Africa through improved cross-border coordination and cooperation.
The Administrator of the United Nations Development Programme (UNDP) Achim Steiner and the United Nations Under-Secretary-General for Humanitarian Affairs and Emergency Relief Coordinator, Mark Lowcock concluded a three-day joint mission to Ethiopia by urging all stakeholders to increase cooperation to withstand humanitarian and climate-related crises.
The 16th Executive Idea Exchange Forum discussed on the theme “the prospects and challenges of industrial parks establishment for Ethiopia’s economic development”.
A team of delegation from six city administrations and Ministry of Urban Development and Housing went on a study tour to Uganda to learn and gain experiences on mitigation and climate-resilience aspects of Urban Green Infrastructure (UGI) and Integrated Solid Waste Management (ISWM).
The Peace Support Training Centre of Ethiopia held a two-week conflict prevention training for participants from 10 African countries; Burundi, Ethiopia, Cameroon, Central Africa Republic, Rwanda, Liberia, Mali, Somalia, Sudan and Uganda.
UNDP Ethiopia hosted its first CEO’s breakfast meeting to promote the private sector’s engagement on the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) in the country.
