Upon returning to their communities, Iraqis have found burned buildings, collapsed roofs, smashed windows, broken doors, walls pierced with bullet holes.

• Launching the capacity building program on "Government-Wide Institutional Performance Management" Feb 15, 2018

  Erbil – The first in a series of capacity building workshops was concluded in Erbil, Iraq. With the ultimate aim of helping Iraq reinforce its accountability and efficiency mechanisms, the workshop’s objective was to improve the Iraq public sector readiness to apply a new model of performance management entitled “Iraqi Government-Wide Institutional Performance Management Model”.

  Kuwait – UN Secretary General António Guterres launched the Iraq Recovery and Resilience Programme today at the Kuwait International Conference for the Reconstruction of Iraq.

• Sweden increases its support to stabilize newly liberated areas in Iraq Feb 7, 2018

  Baghdad – The Government of The Kingdom of Sweden has contributed an additional US$ 12 million (SEK 100 million) to UNDP’s Funding Facility for Stabilization (FFS), which finances initiatives for rapid stabilization of areas liberated from the Islamic State of Iraq and the Levant (ISIL).

• Denmark supports stabilization in Iraq with US$21.4 million contribution Feb 4, 2018

  Baghdad – The Government of The Kingdom of Denmark has contributed an additional US$ 21.4 million (DKK 135 million) to UNDP’s Funding Facility for Stabilization (FFS), which finances fast-track initiatives to stabilize areas liberated from the Islamic State of Iraq and the Levant (ISIL).

• European Union contributes $58.96 million for Iraq stabilization Feb 1, 2018

  Baghdad – The European Union has contributed an additional US$ 58.96 million (EUR 50 million) to UNDP’s Funding Facility for Stabilization (FFS), which finances fast-track initiatives to stabilize areas liberated from the Islamic State of Iraq and the Levant (ISIL).

• USA supports stabilization in Iraq with US$75 million contribution Jan 29, 2018

  Baghdad – The United States Agency for International Development (USAID) has contributed an additional US$ 75 million to The United Nations Development Programme (UNDP). US$ 75 million will go to UNDP’s Funding Facility for Stabilization (FFS). This brings the total United States contribution to UNDP to US$ 198.65 million since 2015.

• With the launch of a trilingual mobile application, millions of users can stay informed of UNDP’s support to Iraq Jan 19, 2018

  Baghdad- The United Nations Development Programme (UNDP) in Iraq launched a trilingual mobile application for iOS and Android to become the first ever UNDP Country Office to have such an application and one of a few within the UN community worldwide.
