    . has been an incredible leader of & across the entire Community Legal Sector, improving safety and access to justice for women & children in Vic. She leaves an amazing legacy and will be an invaluable addition to the team

    Congratulations to our CEO Joanna Fletcher, who in March 2021 will be taking up the position of Executive Director of Family, Youth and Children’s Law . Joanna has built Women's Legal to be the organisation it is today - an incredible legacy.

    Small and seemingly insignificant acts can be powerful in disrupting inappropriate behaviour. This can include using your body language whether that be standing in front or between the situations. Know your actions can make a difference.

    On day EIGHT of we call for police accountability. Too often we hear terrible stories of women calling police for help, only to find themselves in handcuffs. Police must provide safety - not punishment - & refer women to so they can get the help they need.

    Great news...

    Our Bill to expand the Drug Court program into the County Court of Victoria has now passed the parliament. This expansion is about making the justice system more compassionate, and it'll help break the cycle of addiction and reoffending.
