Mental Health Legal Centre continues in new RMIT venture

Monday 9 September 2013.

The Mental Health Legal Centre will continue despite being defunded by the Victorian Government, thanks to a new venture with the Centre for Innovative Justice at RMIT.

The Age reported yesterday that Rob Hulls, director of the CIJ, hoped the initial continuation of the MHLC's Inside Access program – for prisoners and people living with mental illness on involuntary treatment orders – would see a rebirth of the MHLC at RMIT as an independent specialist mental health legal service.

The Mental Health Legal Centre is currently recruiting for a new Principal Solicitor/Manager, with applications closing next Monday at 10.00am.
