These tests are conducted by the CBSE. Hence, it is critical that the important chapters for all these exams are revised regularly in the run-up to the Board exams. Balanced revision schedule Since there are five subjects to be revised for the Board exams, it is imperative that the revision plan includes separate time allocation for all these subjects. One will need to customise the plan to give proportionate amount of time to the subjects based on individual strengths and weaknesses. Testing pattern Students need to keep in mind that the Board examination question pattern is different from the multiple-choice questions pattern that is followed in these competitive examinations. So it is important that students spend enough time in practising mock papers every day for a different subject. This means that till the end of exams in March, one will not need to do any practice test for these competitive examinations separately. Keep a clear focus For JEE, 40% weightage is given to CBSE marks and that is why students must not take it easy. For other examinations though, there is no direct impact of the Board marks on the admission process. Build endurance Since it is a long season of examinations that spans two to three months, it is important to build endurance so that there are no distractions and the concentration levels are maintained. Keeping healthy and getting regular sleep is an important part of the entire process. Other entrance tests Let us now take a look at the other competitive examinations like BBA, law and hotel management. These are aptitude-based tests that are also conducted between April and June. Since these test one’s knowledge of English, basic mathematics, general awareness and reasoning, it may be good idea to invest time in areas like English and general awareness during the time when the student is preparing for the Board examinations.
