Trouble shooting
While much of this website is for the IT contact person, this section applies to all computer users.
There is a limit to what you should attempt to do before engaging IT support. The articles in this section give some steps to follow before calling for help.
Your IT support provider may prefer that you do not attempt your own troubleshooting. This is often because it can make it harder for them to solve problems.
Other providers are more flexible – especially if you document your observations at each step, and can return things to the way they were before moving on to the next.
