6th of December – International Day against State Terrorism – Athens (Greece)

6 December 2008, 15 years old Alexis Grigoropoulos is shot point blank by cops in the neighborhood of Exarchia in Athens. Alexis falls from the bullet of state murderers and a hurricane of rage rises. This was no accident; it was a targeted murder in the heart of a neighborhood that is, as much historically as in the present, a hub for the oppressed to organize themselves into the resistance movement. The message was clear, to terrorise the resistance, to assert state totalitarian control, to stifle the brewing insurrection against a decrepit system of exploitation and oppression. The story of Alexis is the story of thousands of fighters shot, tortured and disappeared by the armed guards of the state around the world.
In the hours, days and weeks that followed the murder of Alexis myriads of people, who saw in the killing of Alexis their own sufferings in this system, took to the streets around the world. The wave of solidarity broke the isolation and alienation of the oppressed and awakened once again the global vision for a world without exploitation from authority. This history, our history is not a collection of dead symbols. This September 1st marked one month since the disappearance of the anarchist comrade Santiago Maldonado at the hands of the police of the National Gendarmerie of Argentina. This took place within the context of the repression against a demonstration that included road blocks made by the Mapuche community Pu Lof in Resistance at Cashamen, in the Argentine province of Chubut.
While the anarchic agitation spread beyond borders, comrades in Argentina took to the streets to spread acts of revolt via propaganda and direct action. With arson attacks against the police, barricades and Molotov cocktails against government buildings, our comrades unleashed their rage at a situation that is as sad as it is real: the bastards have arrested and disappeared an anarchist comrade.
Because Santiago is an anarchist, and not just a young musician and artist, something the press and leftists conveniently leave out, in denouncing the state repression we make it clear that denial and silencing of the comrade’s political identity is another form of disappearance, erasing from the narrative the true motivations of his solidarity presence in the Mapuche community where he was at the time of his arrest. State repression against IMC Grenoble and IMC Nantes (France)

Following the publication of a communiqué claiming responsibility for a fire in a garage at a Grenoble police depot (gendarmerie) during the night of September 20th/21st, Indymedia Grenoble and Indymedia Nantes have been threatened by the French police. The administrators of these sites have received emails from the Central Office for the Fight Against Crime Linked to Information Technology and Communication (OCLCTIC) demanding that the concerned articles be removed from the sites under (in) 24 hours, otherwise rendering the sites liable to blocking and dereferencing.
The communiqué’s authors explained that the garage fire had been carried out as “part of a wave of attacks in solidarity with people currently under trial” such as the Quai de Valmy police car arson.

Athens: Urgent counter-info report concerning 16 year old comrade K.B (Greece)

On September 16th, the day of anti-fascist protests in Keratsini and Athens, for the 4 years since the murder of Pavlos Fyssas by neonazis of the Golden Dawn, 16 year old K.B. is arrested in Exarchia. During his arrest and transportation to GADA (central police hq of Athens), K.B. is beaten and tortured by riot cops resulting in his severe injury.
Although this incident is publicized on social networks and counter-information websites, on the same day false information is leaked concerning the health of K.B. as well as the conditions of his care in the intensive care unit of KAT hospital.
In an attempt to cover-up a very serious incident during an especially explosive juncture, another attempt is coordinated to downplay this incident.
Stray information on the same day say that the kid’s situation has stabilized, that he has escaped danger, as well as that the detention protocol in the hospital was upheld.
The reality however is far from that, and goes as such: K.B. right now is being hospitalized in an induced coma, in intensive care of KAT hospital. His relatives have had no hopeful news (till now) about his health and the information they have been receiving is extremely incomplete. It simultaneously became known after a
syndicalist doctor of that hospital denounced it, that the police had a cop INSIDE the intensive care unit which is obviously forbidden. Doctors cannot bring him out of the coma he is in right now because of his situation and do not know when he will come out of it. His injuries are severe, he had an epileptic episode as well as loss of consciousness.
Also, today he had an operation and had metal rods placed in both of his legs.
Not trusting the state apparatus who only care about their self-preservation in every way, we call on anyone who knows anything concerning the arrest and transfer of 16 year-old, to email: againstpolicebrutality@espiv.net in order for us to investigate what has happened exactly.
It is a matter of survival of the authoritarians to maintain the illusion of social normality in any way.
On our side, we ought to not give even a bit of space to those who attempt to silence and punish whoever resists.
Our solidarity is a given but also factual and we call for a gathering at KAT hospital on Wednesday September 20th*.

18th April – we thought it long overdue that ‘Julie’, a police informer in Yatton, near Bristol, received a home visit to remind her that we do not forget nor forgive. Badger stayed at Julie’s house after being invited there by her when he was first on the run. Badger is wanted for the smashing of the Bristol Post newspaper offices in 2011 and the burning of a transmitter. As a minimum gesture of solidarity to wanted anarchist Badger, we painted “snitch” there and sabotaged her vehicle. We hope she crashes and is paralysed. Julie lives at 3 Barberry Farm Road where she resides with her partner and children. An older washed-out queer peace activist type of person, but actually just a disgusting betrayer and one who abused the trust put in her. Julie thought she could save herself from police attention by informing, but found that the pigs wanted more. So she even gave information on other people who came to visit Badger at her place and police were sure to send a forensic team to collect DNA. Snitch, you will be remembered as one more reactionary who deserves to live in misery. We hope the cancer that it is in your body kills you and we hope to make your last days as unhappy as possible. Die knowing you are hated. More activists (who we haven’t forgotten about either) protected this snitch at the time of her informing, preventing those hunted from knowing that Julie had betrayed Badger and his friends. Let’s Fight Together : No G20 Summit – Hamburg (Germany)

On the 7th and 8th of July 2017 the G20 summit is supposed to take place in Hamburg. The heads of the governments of the 19 richest and most powerful states of the world, accompanied by 6.000 delegation members, surrounded and permanently photographed by 3.000 journalists and of course cordoned off and protected by an army of at least 10.000 police and secret service operatives.
All this is supposed to take place in the middle of Hamburg: in the exhibition halls, in the town hall, in the Elbphilharmonie. Large-scale and multilevel barriers, ID controls, evacuated appartments – the main victims will be the people in the Karoviertel and the surrounding neighborhoods. Especially those, that are already more exposed to frequent controls and harrassments because of the color of their skin, their legal status, their precarious social situation or other reasons.
The residents are supposed to give way for an orchestration of power, a living city is turned into a dead scenery. The main performance is the illusion that the political elites of global capitalism have everything well under control, that they are somehow capable of providing security, peace, livelihood and a real future perspective to the people of the world. Berlin: Solidarity with Athens Squats – Pig Patrol attacked on Rigaer (Germany)

In the evening of March 15, International Day against Police Violence, we attacked a prowling Riot Police van in the „dangerzone“ (label used by authorities for this Friedrichshain area) of Rigaer Street with many stones.
This was to send a small message of solidarity to the evicted squats in Athens, Villa Zografou and Alkiviadou Squat.
After the attack we left this area and learned from scum media, that a police helicopter came to Friedrichshain in order to find us and that this helicopter was attacked with laserpointer, what resulted in the arrest of three people.
Police started the war in our areas long ago, we must face this aggression. The execution of Hussam Fadel Hossein, Iraqi refugee, in the refugee camp of Kruppstraße in Berlin, on September 27. last year by police officers is one of many connections to the evicted Alkiviado Squat, that resulted in the arrest of many refugees.
And the eviction of Villa Zografou is the connection to the struggle of house projects in Friedrichshain against daily police aggression.

‘In Spite Of Their Separation’ – Call for international solidarity and action to defend R94 in Berlin (Germany)

We are writing to you from the threatened houseproject Rigaer 94
in one of Berlins once notorious squatting neighbourhoods.
Our contexts might be worlds apart or really close but the reality we lived last year
bears the prints of the same systematically oppressive system.
In solidarity with all threatened projects, individuals and emancipatory struggles, we would like to better connect our structures and work on a closer link based on support, in our struggles.
Let’s keep walking this path together, but first a short summary of the recent past and our situation.
Last year saw us, the neighbourhood and people around, on the receiving end of much police repression, starting with the declaration by the state that our street and neighbourhood was a danger zone (Gefahrengebiet), giving the police extra search and detain powers and a green light for constant street harassment of anyone fitting their vision of a ‘leftist’, not white or somehow not normative person (this evolved into almost anyone being controlled, no matter how they presented).
This saw a massive rise in police riot vans cruising the streets, meaning constant conflicts for the neighbourhood, and in our efforts to fight for a autonomous and cop free area.
Rigaer 94 was at the centre of these conflicts, as the state and its cops declared it the crux of militant struggle.
This tactic can be seen in the wider context of reactionary imposed controls and intimidation, such as states of emergency and curfews, employed as constant stress factors (and datamining) to those against the aggressive progression of gentrification and public control. (more…)
