1974 AD

1974 AD is a national Nepali rock band, formed in Kathmandu, Nepal in the early 1990s. They experiment with various genre of music including Nepali folk, ragas, rock, funk, blues and jazz as well. 1974 AD are amongst the most successful recording artists in Nepal. Most of their albums are ranked among the top-ten best-selling albums according to the Hits FM of Nepal. Their concert name being 'Rock Yatra,' in 2000 AD was watched by more than 60,000 people, the largest attendance for a concert in Nepal.

Songs and albums produced by 1974 AD are usually in the Nepali language. Lyrics include themes of patriotism, Nepali virtues, unity, love and nationalism. There is a lot of variety in the music of 1974 AD. They have successfully tried various genres of music. Their songs, like "Nepali," "Sambodhan," "Pahilo Junima," "Parelima," "Samjhi Baschu" and "Chudaina Timro Mayale" amongst various others, were some of the biggest hits in Nepalese music. The song "Nepali Ho" from their highest selling album Satabdi has been received as the most patriotic songs till now.

Suraj Singh Thakuri

Suraj Singh Thakuri is a Nepali presenter, actor, director and producer. He is by far known as the presenter of the longest running Nepali talk show Call Kantipur which airs everyday on Kantipur Television. The show along with himself did really well at start but with time he widened his interest in other fields as a reason of which he handed the reign of the show in hands of other young talents like Suraj Giri, akesha bista and riju shrestha after 10 years of running the show. He has also directed many Music Videos and has also acted in some of them.

Education

Suraj did his schooling from Adarsha Vidya Mandir,Lalitpur, Nepal and completed his college from Xavier Academy science college (NEF). He has a master's degree in Environmental Science. He is a sport enthusiast and has played cricket in national levels.

Personal life

He is married to his childhood friend Reshma Amatya. Giving an interview to wave magazine, he said "...I had feelings for her since childhood and always believed that she is the one for me." He has a little daughter named Sanbriti He resides in Baneshwor.

The Cherry Picker

The Cherry Picker is 1974 British drama film directed by Peter Curran and starring Lulu, Bob Sherman, Wilfrid Hyde-White, Spike Milligan, Patrick Cargill, Jack Hulbert, Fiona Curzon, Terry-Thomas and Robert Hutton. As of August 2010, the film is missing from the BFI National Archive, and is listed as one of the British Film Institute's "75 Most Wanted" lost films, due to the loss of the original print, though inferior quality copies are still in circulation.

Cherry picker

A cherry picker (also known as an elevated work platform, boom lift, man lift, basket crane or hydraladder) is a type of aerial work platform that consists of a platform or bucket at the end of a hydraulic lifting system.

Design

It is often mounted on the back of a large vehicle such as a truck (in which case it may also be called a bucket truck or a "truck mount"), it can also be mounted on a flat bed or paneled van (often referred to as a "van mount"), or sometimes on a stand-alone trailer or self-moving platform. The bucket is designed for a person to stand in and work from. Often a duplicate set of controls that are used to manipulate the position of the bucket will be available to the person in the bucket, allowing the operator to position himself. The lifting arms of some cherry pickers are capable of telescoping to adjust the reach of the device, usually with automatic safety controls to prevent tipping over. Articulated boom lifts are more appropriate than stick booms when operating in tight spaces or when clearing nearby obstacles is necessary. Cherry pickers can either be electrically powered using batteries or powered with a diesel engine. There are advantages and disadvantages associated with both types of power.
