The dots only connect behind us. They do not connect in front of us. We may not know yet why things happen. But eventually we will. And then we will say with a heart full of gratitude and love for Heavenly Father, “Now I understand.” In the end, all will be well.

Our Heavenly Father is a loving, merciful God who helps us realize our full potential. Even those who depart this life early will still have the opportunity to realize their full potential. I trust in God that this will happen, even not knowing all the details yet.

Always, trust the Lord and keep His commandments! Sounds easy? Perhaps not. Sometimes questions arise like, “Why me? Why now? Why this?” Especially in challenging times it is important to trust the Lord. So, be courageous, trust the Lord, and stay on His path.

Sometimes people ask me, “How can I best solve the many challenges of life?” At first the question sounds extremely difficult. But when I take time to ponder about it, the Spirit suggests a pretty straightforward and reasonable response.

You are the child of our merciful and everlasting Father in Heaven, the Lord of Hosts, the One who created the universe, spread the spinning stars across the vast expanse of space, and placed the planets in their appointed orbits.

Even when night has fallen and the world seems dark, you can choose to walk in Christ’s light, keep His commandments, and courageously testify of His reality and His greatness.

Following the Savior will not remove all of your trials. However, it will remove the barriers between you and the help your Heavenly Father wants to give you. God will be with you. He will walk beside you and even carry you when your need is greatest.

You have the spiritual DNA of your Heavenly Father. You have unique gifts that originated in your spiritual creation and that were developed during the vast span of your premortal life.

So I returned quickly and we had a nice visit looking at the reverse side with a colorful tower with lots of hearts surrounding it. I'll never forget his smile and happy hug. The two-sided drawing now has a special place in my office.

One of my associates asked him what the matter was, and Brady said, "He only looked on one side of the page. I have a beautiful tower painted on the backside."

You can heal spiritually. Even the deepest spiritual wounds—yes, even those that may appear to be incurable—can be healed. The healing power of Jesus Christ is not absent in our day.

You cannot allow circumstances to make you sad. You cannot allow them to make you mad. You can rejoice that you are a child of God. You can find joy and happiness in the grace of God and in the love of Jesus Christ. You can be glad.

Our mortal concept of love is a speck of sand on a vast seashore compared to the love God feels for us. His love is infinite and inexhaustible compassion. Divine love fills eternity. It reaches out and lifts up. It forgives. It blesses. It redeems.

If you open your mind and heart to receive the Light of Christ and humbly follow the Savior, you will receive more light. Line upon line, here a little and there a little, you will gather more light and truth into your souls until darkness has been banished from your life.

God knows your every thought, your sorrows, and your greatest hopes. No matter your history—if you have faltered, failed, feel broken, bitter, betrayed, or beaten—know that you are not alone. God still calls to you.

Do you want your Heavenly Father to guide you, bless you, and uphold you? Then believe. Love Him. Seek Him with all your heart. Walk in His ways. #LDSdevo
