Iguazu Falls, Iguazú Falls, Iguassu Falls, or Iguaçu Falls (Spanish: Cataratas del Iguazú [kataˈɾatas ðel iɣwaˈsu]; Guarani: Chororo Yguasu [ɕoɾoɾo ɨɣʷasu]; Portuguese: Cataratas do Iguaçu [kataˈɾatɐʒ du iɡwaˈsu]) are waterfalls of the Iguazu River on the border of the Argentine province of Misiones and the Brazilian state of Paraná. The falls divide the river into the upper and lower Iguazu. The Iguazu River rises near the city of Curitiba. For most of its course, the river flows through Brazil, however, most of the falls are on the Argentine side. Below its confluence with the San Antonio River, the Iguazu River forms the boundary between Argentina and Brazil.
The name "Iguazu" comes from the Guarani or Tupi words "y" [ɨ], meaning "water", and "ûasú "[waˈsu], meaning "big". Legend has it that a deity planned to marry a beautiful woman named Naipí, who fled with her mortal lover Tarobá in a canoe. In a rage, the deity sliced the river, creating the waterfalls and condemning the lovers to an eternal fall. The first European to record the existence of the falls was the Spanish conquistador Álvar Núñez Cabeza de Vaca in 1541.
The Iguazu River (Portuguese: Rio Iguaçu[ˈʁi.u iɡwaˈsu], Spanish: Río Iguazú [ˈri.o iɣwaˈsu]; also called Rio Iguassu) is a river in Brazil and Argentina. It is an important tributary of the Paraná River. The Iguazu River is 1,320 kilometres (820 mi) long, with a drainage basin of 62,000 square kilometres (24,000 sq mi).
The Iguazu originates in the Serra do Mar coastal mountains of the Brazilian state of Paraná. For 1,205 kilometres (749 mi), to its confluence with the San Antonio River, the Iguazu flows west through Paraná State, Brazil. Downriver from the confluence the Iguazu River forms the boundary between Brazil and Argentina's Misiones Province. Continuing west, the river drops off a plateau, forming Iguazu Falls. The falls are within national parks in both Brazil, Iguaçu National Park, and Argentina, Iguazú National Park. It empties into the Paraná River at the point where the borders of Argentina, Brazil, and Paraguay join, an area known as the Triple Frontier.

Argentina (i/ˌɑːrdʒənˈtiːnə/; Spanish: [aɾxenˈtina]), officially the Argentine Republic (Spanish: República Argentina), is a federal republic located in southeastern South America. Sharing the bulk of the Southern Cone with its neighbour Chile, it is bordered by Bolivia and Paraguay to the north; Brazil to the northeast; Uruguay and the South Atlantic Ocean to the east; Chile to the west and the Drake Passage to the south.
With a mainland area of 2,780,400 km2 (1,073,500 sq mi), Argentina is the eighth-largest country in the world, the second-largest in Latin America, and the largest Spanish-speaking one. The provinces and the capital have their own constitutions, but exist under a federal system.
Foz do Iguaçu (Iguazu River Mouth) (Portuguese pronunciation: [ˈfɔz dw iɡwɐˈsu]) is the Brazilian city on the border of Iguaçu Falls. The city is the 7th largest in the state of Paraná. The city's population is approximately 265,000 inhabitants. It is located approximately 650 km (400 mi) west of the capital of the state, Curitiba, being the westernmost city in that state.
The inhabitants of the city are known as iguaçuenses. The Iguaçu Falls located on the border of Argentina and Brazil and consisting of approximately 257 individual falls over 2.7 km (1.7 mi) were chosen as one of the "New Natural Seven Wonders of the World."
The city is characterized by tourism and its cultural diversity. There are about 80 nationalities, being the most representative from Italy, Portugal, Lebanon, China, Paraguay and Argentina. Foz do Iguaçu is integrated into a tri-national region, bordering the Argentine city of Puerto Iguazú and the Paraguayan city of Ciudad del Este. The city's economy is based on tourism, with emphasis on trade and services.

When I first discovered Iguaçu Falls while planning the Brazil trip for the 2014 World Cup, it was the most impressive natural wonder I had ever seen. I knew a camera would never be able to fully capture an experience of this scale. Even in a helicopter, I would not be able to get close enough. I pondered for days on how I would be able to capture the falls and do it justice. After researching DJI's drones, I was so impressed with how advanced the flight technology was and knew that this was the solution. I was in awe at the first sight of the falls. Then I realized I was only looking at a small portion of it; there was a 1 mile hike to get to the other end. Every lookout along the way was gorgeous. Capturing this waterfall was the biggest driving factor for me buying a drone. I r...

Modern time wonder Itaipu-Iguazu in South America. The thirteen hundred kilometre Rio Iguazu flows into the Rio Parana, the third largest major river of South America where, on the border between Brazil and Paraguay, one of the largest hydroelectric power plants on earth was built, the Itaipu Dam. Tall tubes lead the dam’s water to the turbines and it has been calculated that around forty times the entire water mass of the awesome Iguazu Waterfalls passes through. Each year eighteen generators produce around seventy five billion kilowatt-hours of electricity mainly to supply Sao Paulo and Minas Gerais in Brazil. A work force of up to thirty thousand took part in the creation of this gigantic project and it is thought that the amount of concrete that was used in its construction was enough...

And well many might argue that one side is actually better, I think that the Argentina vs. Brazil battle is really no warranted here. Both sides of Iguazu Falls are worth visiting.
