    The United Nations Development Programme (UNDP), funded by the Government of Canada and in a collaboration with the Ministry of Municipal Affairs and the Joint Services Council in Irbid, initiated the establishment of the first sanitary cell in Al-kaidar landfill, the second largest landfill in Jordan in the Northern region, in accordance with the international standards for solid waste cell lining, leachate collection system and biogas collection system.

    131 youth most of them are women, celebrated their graduation in a small ceremony yesterday from the “Demand-Driven Vocational Training, Employment, and Entrepreneurship Skills Development Programme” project after they have completed the technical training in the food processing sector at the Jordan Hospitality & Tourism Education Company (JHTEC).

  • UNDP & MOE Kick-Launches Activities of Nagoya Protocol Implementation Project Jul 24, 2017

    Amman- The United Nations Development Programme (UNDP) and the Ministry of Environment (MoEnv) conducted an inception workshop to launch the implementation of the new project "STRENGTHENING HUMAN RESOURCES, LEGAL FRAMEWORKS AND INSTITUTIONAL CAPACITIES TO IMPLEMENT THE NAGOYA PROTOCOL” yesterday, with the support of the Global Environment Fund (GEF). The project aims at helping Jordan in developing and enhancing its legal and national frameworks to implement the Nagoya protocol. The project is concurrently implemented by UNDP in 24 countries to help in meeting the national obligations towards the Nagoya Protocol and the UN Convention on Biodiversity (UNCBD).

  • UNDP Signs Agreements With 25 Community Based Organizations Jul 17, 2017

    Within the framework of the Community Cohesion Grant Mechanism Phase II project (CCGM), implemented by the United Nations Development Program (UNDP) in Jordan and funded by the government of Japan and the the Swiss Agency for Development and Cooperation; UNDP has signed yesterday cooperation agreements with 25 community based organizations from various governorates of Jordan with the aim of enhancing social cohesion and strengthening social stability.
