Piers Morgan spoke of 'gutter' practices

Help

The former editor of the Daily Mirror and News of the World, Piers Morgan, previously commented on the fact that some of the stories he ran in his newspapers came from third parties who used tactics including phone hacking and raking through rubbish bins.

He was answering a question on BBC Radio 4's Desert Island Discs in 2009, about how he felt dealing with people who used "gutter" tactics.

Amid the recent hacking scandal, Mr Morgan has denied sanctioning any phone hacking or publishing any stories based on information gained through the hacking of a phone.

Piers Morgan on Desert Island Discs was originally broadcast on 07 June 2009.
