The National Aeronautics and Space Administration (NASA) is the agency of the United States Federal Government responsible for the civilian space program as well as aeronautics and aerospace research.
President Dwight D. Eisenhower established the National Aeronautics and Space Administration (NASA) in 1958 with a distinctly civilian (rather than military) orientation encouraging peaceful applications in space science. The National Aeronautics and Space Act was passed on July 29, 1958, disestablishing NASA's predecessor, the National Advisory Committee for Aeronautics (NACA). The new agency became operational on October 1, 1958.
Since that time, most US space exploration efforts have been led by NASA, including the Apollo moon-landing missions, the Skylab space station, and later the Space Shuttle. Currently, NASA is supporting the International Space Station and is overseeing the development of the Orion Multi-Purpose Crew Vehicle, the Space Launch System and Commercial Crew vehicles. The agency is also responsible for the Launch Services Program (LSP) which provides oversight of launch operations and countdown management for unmanned NASA launches.

A fascinating tour through our solar sytem, based on NASA's Science on a Sphere program "The Wanderers". Whole subtitles: In ancient times, humans watched the skies looking for clues to their future and to aid in their very survival. They soon observed that some stars were not fixed, but moved in the sky from night to night. They called these stars the wanderers. At the center of our solar system is the sun, binding the planets with its gravitational pull. From our viewpoint on earth, the sun appears small in the sky, but in reality it dwarfs even Jupiter, the largest planet in the solar system. The distance from the sun to the small worlds traveling it are vast. Light takes eight minutes to reach earth, and nearly a day to reach the farthest known bodies. Join us now as we tour...
This film is a tour inside the International Space Station (ISS) through each pressurized module by NASA astronaut Suni Williams. She explores the research laboratories where the crew conduct scientific experiments in physics, biology, and meteorology.
Welcome to Houston, Texas, one of the largest cities in the United States. Once an outpost in the Old West, Houston is now a down-to-earth metropolis, boasting a tremendous shipping and energy industry, as well as plenty of culture. Kick off your Houston tour at Discovery Green, a 12-acre park tucked beneath the city’s skyscrapers. You’ll find public art and plenty of space to picnic or go for walks. Speaking of exploring, your Houston sightseeing should include a trip to the USS Texas., This battleship served in two World Wars and now stands guard as a museum on the Buffalo Bayou. H...
Original air date: Feb. 22, 2017 10 a.m. PT (1 p.m. ET, 1800 UTC) NASA's Spitzer Space Telescope has revelaed the first known system of seven Earth-size planets around a single star. Three of these planets are firmly located in the habitable zone, the area around the parent star where a rocky planet is most likely to have liquid water. The discovery sets a new record for greatest number of habitable-zone planets found around a single star outside our solar system. All of these seven planets could have liquid water -- key to life as we know it -- under the right atmospheric conditions, but the chances are highest with the three in the habitable zone. The briefing participants were: · Thomas Zurbuchen, associate administrator of the Science Mission Directorate at NASA Headquarters in Was...

No one under 20 has experienced a day without NASA at Mars. The Pathfinder mission, carrying the Sojourner rover, landed on Mars on July 4, 1997. In the 20 years since Pathfinder's touchdown, eight other NASA landers and orbiters have arrived successfully, and not a day has passed without the United States having at least one active robot on Mars or in orbit around Mars.

5 Aliens Life Forms on Moon and Mars Caught By NASA 5. Alien structures found on Moon Ufologists have found traces extraterrestrial civilizations on the Moon. New satellite images, allegedly taken by an orbital probe that has been orbiting the Earth's natural satellite for seven years, showed strange objects on the surface of the Moon. "UFO catchers" studied the photos and found strange-looking "formations" on the Moon. Ufologists believe that the images captured the wreckage of an alien ship that crashed on the Moon. The researchers could also see a chain of footprints that lead to the mysterious object. YELLOWSTONE NATIONAL PARK, U.S.A — NASA plans to stop the Yellowstone caldera from erupting by pumping it full of water and siphoning geothermal energy from it. According to the BBC, the space agency has developed a plan to drill underneath Yellowstone and pump it's magma chamber full of water, extracting the heat. Cooling the magma rock would occur at a rate of 1 meter per year, meaning it could take thousands of years to eliminate the risk of eruption. The cost of NASA's plan is estimated to be US$3.5 billion, the BBC reports. The space agency expects the clean energy derived from heat extraction would offset this via lower power costs and the creation of geothermal plants in the area. ------------------------------------------------------------- Go to https://www.patreon.com/tomon...

I knew a song that played in me
It seems I've lost the melody
So, please, Lord
Give it back to me
Yeah, please Lord
Give it back to me
Years in the desert with no drink
Strike a rock, make it bleed
And, please, Lord
Give it back to me
Yeah, please Lord
Give it back to me
If you blow on the embers
The light will shine on my face
The streams will run in the desert
And sing amazing grace
You're everywhere in everytime
And yet you're so damn hard to find
So, please, Lord
I don't wanna aside
No, please, Lord
I don't wanna aside
I need your breath on the embers
I need the light on my face
I need the streams in the desert
That sing amazing grace, that sing amazing grace
