Toubou people

The Tubu or Toubou (Old Tebu: "Rock People;" also written Tibu, Tibbu, Tebu, Tubu, Tebou, Umbararo) are Nilotic people that live mainly in northern Chad, but also in southern Libya, northeastern Niger and northwestern Sudan. They speak Tebu, in the Saharan subfamily of the Nilo-Saharan languages language family.

The majority of Toubou live in the north of Chad around the Tibesti mountains (Old Tebu: "Rocky Mountains," whence the Toubou's own name.) Numbering roughly 350,000, they are mostly Muslim. Most Toubou are herders and nomads, though many are now semi-nomadic. Their society is clan-based, with each clan having certain oases, pastures and wells. They are divided in two closely associated people, the Teda and the Daza.

Many of Chad's leaders have been Toubou, including presidents Goukouni Oueddei and Hissène Habré.

Society

Toubou life centers on their livestock (their major source of wealth and sustenance) and on the scattered oases where they or their herders cultivate dates and grain. In a few places, the Toubou (or more often members of the Haddad group who work for them) also mine salt and natron, a salt like substance used for medicinal purposes and for livestock.

Isabelle Daza

Isabelle Diaz Daza (born March 6, 1988) is a Filipina actress, television host and model. She is the daughter of Miss Universe 1969 titleholder, Gloria Diaz. Fondly called 'Belle', she was a member of GMA 7's roster of young talents and was introduced to the mass media entertainment audiences during a dance number on the noontime show Party Pilipinas on April 17, 2011. On November 24, 2014, she transferred to ABS-CBN and signed a two-year exclusive contract with them.

Early life

Isabelle Daza is the daughter of Gloria Diaz, Miss Universe 1969 and former Makati City Councilor, Gabriel "Bong" Daza. She is a granddaughter of well-known Filipino chef, Nora Daza.

Career

After graduating from De La Salle University with a degree in Education, she worked as a preschool teacher. She signed a contract with GMA Network Center with her manager, Leo Domingez, and made her showbiz debut on Party Pilipinas. In an interview with PhilStar.com, Daza admits that she is still trying to “figure out� her career in acting and she is continuously taking workshops, but her main interest is in hosting. Her first attempt in hosting a show was on a game show with 8th Division World Boxing champion Manny Pacquiao, Show Me Da Manny, now entitled Manny Many Prizes. On August 2, 2011, Daza was launched as the New Face of Sophie Paris Philippines. In late December 2011, Daza joined the longest-running noontime show Eat Bulaga! as a guest co-host, and in 2012, became a regular co-host.

Pietro Boselli

Pietro Boselli (born March 12, 1988, in Negrar, Italy) is an Italian model and former mathematics lecturer at University College London.

Biography

Boselli was discovered at the age of six by a local scout and began modelling for Armani Junior. He later went on to study mechanical engineering at University College London, graduating with a first class Bachelor of Engineering degree in 2010 and then a Doctorate of Philosophy in 2014. During his final year of his PhD studies, Boselli taught undergraduate mathematics to mechanical engineering students. In January 2014, a student took note of his physique and stumbled upon his modelling career; the subsequent Facebook post went viral a year later. After the viral post, Boselli signed with the British modelling agency Models 1. He has since been dubbed the “world’s sexiest maths teacher�.

Boselli has been seen in American modelling campaigns for clothing retailer Abercrombie & Fitch and fitness club Equinox. He has also appeared in spreads for Chinese magazine GQ Style and was featured on the cover of Attitude. Boselli has spoken about his experience with sexual objectification, the negative effect this has had on his academic career, sexual assaults by women and corresponding unfair treatments because of gender.
