  • UNDP and Japan support efforts to improve disease monitoring capacities in West Africa Oct 3, 2017

    The Noguchi Memorial Institute for Medical Research (NMIMR) is organizing a workshop to strengthen and assist border communities to improve disease monitoring capacities and Early Warning Systems in West African Countries. The workshop, which opens today until Friday, October 6 comes on the heels of the Ebola Viral Disease, which affected Guinea, Liberia and Sierra Leone.

    More than 500 students participated in the 2017 Social Good Summit (#2030NOW) which took place at the Auditorium 900 of the University of Cape Coast in Ghana's Central Region on Wednesday, September 20. The session was the fourth successive annual event implemented in Ghana since the maiden one in 2014. It was hosted jointly by UNDP and the Casely Hayford (CASFORD) Hall of the University of Cape Coast with support from Guinness Ghana Breweries Limited.

This occurred during the 2nd Ghana Youth Conference on Climate Change and Sustainable Development (GYCCC-SD) that took place from 22nd-24th August, 2017 at the British Council Hall in Accra.

  • Adaptation Fund Project - Call for Proposal Aug 23, 2017

    The UNDP Global Environment Facility Small Grants Programme (GEF-SGP) in Ghana has received core funds under the GEF-6 to implement the country programme strategy. Accordingly, the GEF/SGP announces the 2017 "call for proposals" to award small grants of up to US$50,000 to Civil Society Organizations (CSOs) and community groups for the most innovative initiatives.

  • Workshops on productive uses of energy held Aug 14, 2017

    As part of UNDP support to the implementation of the Sustainable Energy for All Initiative, the Energy Commission created awareness on Productive Uses of Energy (PEU) in two workshops held in the Volta and Ashanti Regions in May 2017. Eighty (80) stakeholders from various government agencies, private sector and academia came together to discuss the previous and current PUE interventions and put forward constructive ideas on how to improve Ghana’s energy situation.

  • UNDP supports livelihood improvement in Kenyase No. 3 in the Brong Ahafo Region Aug 9, 2017

    UNDP has donated ¢20,000 and eight pieces of Gari ElephantsTM to the Kenyase No. 3 Cassava Processing Association in the Brong Ahafo Region. The gesture was to enhance the productive capacity of women in the community for sustainable livelihoods and to promote cookstoves that are energy efficient and environmentally friendly.
