Andrew William Stevenson Marr (born 31 July 1959) is a British broadcaster and journalist. Beginning his career as a political commentator, he subsequently edited The Independent (1996–98), and was political editor of BBC News (2000–05). He began hosting a political programme—Sunday AM, now called The Andrew Marr Show—on Sunday mornings on BBC One from September 2005. In 2002, Marr took over as host of BBC Radio 4's long-running Start the Week Monday morning discussion programme .
In 2007 he presented a political history of post-war Britain on BBC Two, Andrew Marr's History of Modern Britain, followed by a prequel in 2009, Andrew Marr's The Making of Modern Britain, focusing on the period between 1901 and 1945. In 2010, he presented a series, Andrew Marr's Megacities (the title distinguishes it from another Megacities series), examining the life, development and challenges of some of the largest cities in the world. In early 2012 he presented The Diamond Queen, a three-part series about the reign of Queen Elizabeth II. In late September 2012, Marr began presenting Andrew Marr's History of the World, a new series examining the history of human civilisation.
Marr (Scottish Gaelic: Màrr) is one of six committee areas in Aberdeenshire, Scotland. It has a population of 34,038 (2001 Census). Someone from Marr is called a Màrnach in Scottish Gaelic.
To the west, the mountain environment of the Cairngorms National Park sustains a well-developed tourist industry based on heritage and outdoor pursuits. Forestry and livestock farming are key industries, particularly in remoter areas. Part of the area has qualified for EU financial assistance. To the east, Marr has experienced population growth due to its strong commuter links with the city of Aberdeen.
The committee area consists of three wards of Aberdeenshire council:
Between them the three wards elect 10 councillors to the sixty-eight member council.
Marr is named after Mar, one of the historic districts of Scotland, extending from north of the Don southward to the Mounth. Like other such districts, it was under the rule of a mormaer in the Middle Ages. In the 12th century an earl (the Earl of Mar) took his place, but no definite succession of earls appears till the 13th century, nor is any connection established between them and the mormaers.
The Andrew Marr Show is an hour-long British television programme broadcast on BBC One on Sunday mornings from 9am. It is presented by Andrew Marr, previously the BBC's Political Editor. The host interviews political figures and others involved in the current events of the week. It replaced the long-running Breakfast with Frost programme when David Frost decided to retire in 2005. The programme begins with a review of the Sunday papers, for which Marr is joined by two or three different guests each week. It also features BBC News and BBC Weather updates. The programme shares a studio with Sunday Politics, Newsnight and HARDtalk, BBC World News, GMT, Impact, Global and Focus On Africa.
Originally launched on 11 September 2005 as Sunday AM, the show was renamed The Andrew Marr Show for the new series in September 2007.
Editor Barney Jones's last show was on 18 January 2015. The editor is Rob Burley; with producers Libby Jukes, Brian Hollywood, Hannah Copeland and Lesley Boden. The title sequence is a pastiche of the television series The Prisoner. The programme moved to New Broadcasting House in September 2012.
Jeremy Bernard Corbyn (/kɔːrbɪn/; born 26 May 1949) is a British politician who is the Leader of the Labour Party and Leader of the Opposition. He has been the Member of Parliament (MP) for Islington North since 1983 and was elected Labour Leader in 2015. Ideologically, he identifies as a democratic socialist.
Born in Chippenham in Wiltshire, Corbyn attended Adams' Grammar School and later North London Polytechnic without attaining a degree. Before entering politics he worked as a representative for various trade unions. His political career began when he was elected to Haringey Council in 1974 and later was secretary of the Islington Constituency Labour Party (CLP). He continued in both roles until he entered the House of Commons as an MP.
Corbyn has received awards for his work as an international human rights campaigner. As an MP he is known for his activism and rebelliousness, frequently voting against the Labour whip when the party was in government under New Labour leaders Tony Blair and Gordon Brown. Corbyn advocates an anti-austerity platform of reversing austerity cuts to public sector and welfare funding made since 2010, proposing preventing tax evasion and avoidance by corporations and wealthy individuals, reducing corporate subsidies, and pursuing an invest-to-grow economic strategy as an alternative. He proposes renationalisation of public utilities and the railways, abolishing university tuition fees, and financing "People's Quantitative Easing" to fund infrastructure and renewable energy projects. A longstanding anti-war and anti-nuclear activist, Corbyn supports a foreign policy of military non-interventionism and a unilateral policy of nuclear disarmament. Corbyn is a member of the Socialist Campaign Group, the Palestine Solidarity Campaign, Amnesty International and the Campaign for Nuclear Disarmament (CND). He was the national chair of the Stop the War Coalition from June 2011 until September 2015.
Mr. Johnson is a Muppet character on Sesame Street. He is Grover's regular customer at Charlie's Restaurant and other restaurants as well.
Johnson is a fat Anything Muppet who has become increasingly frustrated over the years with the service Grover provides (in earlier skits, Mr. Johnson was calmer and Grover was the one who would get irritated, but the situation reversed over the years). Mr. Johnson is always called "Sir" politely by Grover.
Mr. Johnson was mainly performed by Jerry Nelson, and is mostly seen as a customer at Charlie's Restaurant.
In the restaurant sketches, Mr. Johnson goes to Charlie's Restaurant, which is a table service restaurant that he visits on a regular basis. Johnson is a nice and pleasant fellow, but can still be a bit impatient. He is usually in a hurry and has no time to wait, while Grover, the waiter, torments and harasses Mr. Johnson with his antics and mistakes. As a result, Mr. Johnson is eventually turned into the angry victim. However, in earlier sketches, Mr. Johnson and Grover's roles were switched; Johnson was calmer and Grover was usually the one who would get annoyed. Sketches typically end with Mr. Johnson either walking away in a huff, getting hurt, or fainting (which he does most of the time) out of frustration and annoyance. Despite the fact that Grover ruins his dining experiences, Mr. Johnson always goes back to Charlie's (he even says to himself, "Why do I keep coming back to this place?").

Amber Rudd machines gun Boris on Marr, accusing him of “backseat driving” and sternly insisting “I don’t want him managing the Brexit process“. Amber Rudd has accused Boris Johnson of "backseat driving" after he set out his vision for post-Brexit Britain in a 4,000-word article. The Home Secretary said she had been "too busy" dealing with the Parsons Green bomb attack to read the piece, but that she didn't want her Cabinet colleague "managing the Brexit process". It comes after the Foreign Secretary demand in yesterday's Telegraph that, after Brexit, Britain makes good on a pledge to spend some of the hundreds of millions that the UK sends to the EU on the NHS. He said that Britain should not continue to make payments to the EU after Brexit and that ongoing membership of the European s...
