Hurricane Harvey continued to pound southeastern Texas on Sunday with "catastrophic flooding" in Houston, forcing residents to move to higher ground
The National Weather Service issued a flash flood emergency for most parts of southeastern Texas Sunday morning.
Live feed from Rosenberg , Dickinson and Houston, Texas, as flood rescue operations are underway in the aftermath of Hurricane Harvey. Hurricane Harvey, which hit the coast of Texas on Friday, caused levels of damage almost matching Hurricane Katrina in 2005.

(No violence or foul language appears in this video) So I previously stopped by one of Houstons water plants to see if they had any damage following the Hurricane Harvey flooding-Security threw a fit,of course. That was in Galena Park (video will post next week). I knew the City of Houston Water Works had an Educational Center on the north side of town so I figured a stop there might prove enlightening. This video depicts what I found on that visit and how awful I was treated by Contract Employees and City Employees on my visit. Public Servants hate accountability.

"Catastrophic and life-threatening" floods have hit the city in the aftermath of Hurricane Harvey, with thousands evacuated or forced to flee their homes. The National Weather Service is reporting five people have been killed in the storms.
Texas Houston Flood 2017: Houston Hit by ‘Catastrophic Flooding’ from Hurricane Harvey, Hundreds Rescued. Hundreds of water rescues were underway in Houston early Sunday.
Houston is being inundated with "unprecedented" devastating flooding after ferocious Hurricane Harvey set in over southeast Texas this weekend, dumping torrential rain on the city, with no end in sight.
ABC News meteorologists are forecasting historic rainfall totals up to 50 inches by Wednesday.
Heavy rain bands are expected to continue to move in over Houston overnight, which will continue the catastrophic and life-threatening flash-flood emergency in the area.
The flooding comes after the hurricane left at least three people dead after it bashed the Texas coast. Buildings and parts of communities are submerged and, in Houston, there were more than 1,000 calls for rescues and people were forced to their rooftops.
"At this time it is unknown if the subject passed away from health conditions or due to drowning, there was high water in the area of Walmart last night," the La Marque Police Department said in a statement.
Another person who died was in Houston, after a woman was “swept away,” according to Art Acevedo, Houston’s chief of police.
"Sadly, we have lost one female member of our community who encountered floodwaters in her vehicle, got out and was swept away," Acevedo said.
Officials said another person died in the coastal city of Rockport.
Upward of 340 billion gallons of rainfall
The National Hurricane Center said at least 50 inches of rain has fallen in some areas, and one meteorologist estimated that upward of 340 billion gallons of rainfall inundated the area.
Meteorologist Travis Herzog of ABC Houston station KTRK-TV estimates that 340-370 billion gallons of rainwater has fallen so far, which exceeds other major flooding events that have affected the region in recent years by over one hundred billion gallons.
Separately, officials announced two forthcoming reservoir releases that will likely impact thousands of homes in the Houston area, they said. Water from the Addicks and Barker reservoirs will be released early this week in an effort to mitigate flooding risks, officials with the U.S. Army Corps said.

A Houston mechanic has come up with a novel way of rescuing people caught up in Hurricane Harvey - by using monster trucks.
A video showing a US Army vehicle being dragged out of the water by an SUV with huge wheels fitted to it has been viewed thousands of times.
Crowds cheered as it emerged from the water.
The rescue was carried out by one of five monster trucks in a mission organised by airport worker Josh James, who told ABC News: 'When people need help and I can help, I'm out there.'
James, 26, and his team of volunteers, from the Rednecks with Paychecks dirt racetrack, also helped save people in an apartment complex in the Copperfield area of Houston.
The trucks have been helping first responders get to places emergency vehicles cannot reach.

i/ˈhjuːstən/ HYOO-stən) is the most populous city in Texas and the fourth most populous city in the United States. Texas State Highway 8
State Highway 8 or SH 8 is a north–south state highway that runs from the Red River, the Texas-Arkansas boundary, north of New Boston to SH 155 at Linden.
History
SH 8 was one of the original twenty six state highways proposed in 1917, proposed as an 'East Texas Highway.' In 1919 the routing follows the present day SH 8 from the Arkansas State Line to its terminus in Linden, then continued south on present day U.S. Highway 59 through Marshall, to Carthage. On U.S. Highway 96, SH 8 traveled through San Augustine, Jasper to its junction with SH 62, where it turned towards its terminus in Orange.
In 1922 SH 8 was rerouted from Buna to Beaumont and into Port Arthur via present day US 96. The Buna-Orange section became SH 62 by 1926.
In 1926, US 59 and 96 were overlaid over pieces of SH 8. While the entirety of the SH 8 maintained its number, by 1939 most of SH 8 was cancelled, leaving only the Arkansas-Corley segment to the old highway. In 1947 a small segment was reassigned back to SH 8 from US 59 from Corley to Linden when US 59 was rerouted further east.

The National Weather Service is reporting five people have been killed in the storms. Texas Houston Flood 2017: Houston Hit by ‘Catastrophic Flooding’ from Hurricane Harvey, Hundreds Rescued. Hundreds of water rescues were underway in Houston early Sunday. Houston is being inundated with "unprecedented" devastating flooding after ferocious Hurricane Harvey set in over southeast Texas this weekend, dumping torrential rain on the city, with no end in sight. ABC News meteorologists are forecasting historic rainfall totals up to 50 inches by Wednesday. Heavy rain bands are expected to continue to move in over Houston overnight, which will continue the catastrophic and life-threatening flash-flood emergency in the area. The flooding comes after the hurricane left at least three people dead after it bashed the Texas coast. Buildings and parts of communities are submerged and, in Houston, there were more than 1,000 calls for rescues and people were forced to their rooftops. "At this time it is unknown if the subject passed away from health conditions or due to drowning, there was high water in the area of Walmart last night," the La Marque Police Department said in a statement. Another person who died was in Houston, after a woman was “swept away,” according to Art Acevedo, Houston’s chief of police. "Sadly, we have lost one female member of our community who encountered floodwaters in her vehicle, got out and was swept away," Acevedo said. Officials said another person died in the coastal city of Rockport. Upward of 340 billion gallons of rainfall The National Hurricane Center said at least 50 inches of rain has fallen in some areas, and one meteorologist estimated that upward of 340 billion gallons of rainfall inundated the area. Meteorologist Travis Herzog of ABC Houston station KTRK-TV estimates that 340-370 billion gallons of rainwater has fallen so far, which exceeds other major flooding events that have affected the region in recent years by over one hundred billion gallons. Separately, officials announced two forthcoming reservoir releases that will likely impact thousands of homes in the Houston area, they said. Water from the Addicks and Barker reservoirs will be released early this week in an effort to mitigate flooding risks, officials with the U.S. Army Corps said. -

A Houston mechanic has come up with a novel way of rescuing people caught up in Hurricane Harvey - by using monster trucks. A video showing a US Army vehicle being dragged out of the water by an SUV with huge wheels fitted to it has been viewed thousands of times. Crowds cheered as it emerged from the water. The rescue was carried out by one of five monster trucks in a mission organised by airport worker Josh James, who told ABC News: 'When people need help and I can help, I'm out there.' James, 26, and his team of volunteers, from the Rednecks with Paychecks dirt racetrack, also helped save people in an apartment complex in the Copperfield area of Houston. The trucks have been helping first responders get to places emergency vehicles cannot reach. -

Sorry to divide this into two parts but its pretty long-I will get the second part up by Friday for you guys. While documenting illegally parked Public Vehicles in the Criminal Justice Center (which I do almost weekly)-I was set upon by off duty Houston Police Officer Orr. He became upset because he thought that I had taken photos of his vehicle on a public street. Despite my best efforts to deescalate the situation-Off Orr behaved eratically and gave me cause for concern.during the entire contact I was polite and cooperative with all Officers involved. And for being cordial-I was met with aggressive behavior and threats of arrest. This is not what Citizens typically get from the Houston Police Dept.I have heard the "Problem Officers" are assigned to the DownTown area-from what I am seeing,it seems to be true.I have never had an HPD Officer lie to me (or about me) before and I have never had an HPD Officer Bully me and threaten me before this incident. Prior to this incident EVERY CONTACT I have ever had with an HPD Officer (20+) has been exemplary. Now,I see they need some very special attention=and I m just the guy to humiliate them with some. Rednecks In Houston TX Use Monster Truck To Pull A Military Truck From Deep Water
A Houston mechanic has come up with a novel way of rescuing people caught up in Hurricane Harvey - by using monster trucks. A video showing a US Army vehicle being dragged out of the water by an SUV with huge wheels fitted to it has been viewed thousands of times. Crowds cheered as it emerged from the water. The rescue was carried out by one of five monster trucks in a mission organised by airport worker Josh James, who told ABC News: 'When people need help and I can help, I'm out there.' James, 26, and his team of volunteers, from the Rednecks with Paychecks dirt racetrack, also helped save people in an apartment complex in the Copperfield area of Houston. The trucks have been helping first responders get to places emergency vehicles cannot reach.

While documenting illegally parked Public Vehicles in the Criminal Justice Center (which I do almost weekly)-I was set upon by off duty Houston Police Officer Orr. He became upset because he thought that I had taken photos of his vehicle on a public street. Despite my best efforts to deescalate the situation-Off Orr behaved eratically and gave me cause for concern.during the entire contact I was polite and cooperative with all Officers involved. "Catastrophic and life-threatening" floods have hit the city in the aftermath of Hurricane Harvey, with thousands evacuated or forced to flee their homes. The National Weather Service is reporting five people have been killed in the storms.
Texas Houston Flood 2017: Houston Hit by ‘Catastrophic Flooding’ from Hurricane Harvey, Hundreds Rescued. Hundreds of water rescues were underway in Houston early Sunday.
Houston is being inundated with "unprecedented" devastating flooding after ferocious Hurricane Harvey set in over southeast Texas this weekend, dumping torrential rain on the city, with no end in sight.
ABC News meteorologists are forecasting historic rainfall totals up to 50 inches by Wednesday.
Heavy rain bands are expected to continue to move in over Houston overnight, which will continue the catastrophic and life-threatening flash-flood emergency in the area.
The flooding comes after the hurricane left at least three people dead after it bashed the Texas coast. Buildings and parts of communities are submerged and, in Houston, there were more than 1,000 calls for rescues and people were forced to their rooftops.
"At this time it is unknown if the subject passed away from health conditions or due to drowning, there was high water in the area of Walmart last night," the La Marque Police Department said in a statement.
Another person who died was in Houston, after a woman was “swept away,” according to Art Acevedo, Houston’s chief of police.
"Sadly, we have lost one female member of our community who encountered floodwaters in her vehicle, got out and was swept away," Acevedo said.
Officials said another person died in the coastal city of Rockport.
Upward of 340 billion gallons of rainfall
The National Hurricane Center said at least 50 inches of rain has fallen in some areas, and one meteorologist estimated that upward of 340 billion gallons of rainfall inundated the area.
Meteorologist Travis Herzog of ABC Houston station KTRK-TV estimates that 340-370 billion gallons of rainwater has fallen so far, which exceeds other major flooding events that have affected the region in recent years by over one hundred billion gallons.
Separately, officials announced two forthcoming reservoir releases that will likely impact thousands of homes in the Houston area, they said. Water from the Addicks and Barker reservoirs will be released early this week in an effort to mitigate flooding risks, officials with the U.S. Army Corps said.

A video showing a US Army vehicle being dragged out of the water by an SUV with huge wheels fitted to it has been viewed thousands of times.
Crowds cheered as it emerged from the water.
The rescue was carried out by one of five monster trucks in a mission organised by airport worker Josh James, who told ABC News: 'When people need help and I can help, I'm out there.'
James, 26, and his team of volunteers, from the Rednecks with Paychecks dirt racetrack, also helped save people in an apartment complex in the Copperfield area of Houston.
The trucks have been helping first responders get to places emergency vehicles cannot reach.

We planned for 1'-0" of water in the garage but we received way more than that as you will see in the video(over 3'-0"). Follow along as i try and save all 3 cars. There was no saving the house but could lessen the blow by saving the cars.

The fifth ward is one of the most known African-American communities in Houston, and because of residential segregation and housing discrimination the black community in the 5th ward has been isolated and disenfranchised and today is one of the most prominent ghettos in Houston.

Houston, TX - We visited Houston's 5th Ward and Kashmere Gardens on the northwest side of Houston. The fifth ward is one of the most known African-American communities in Houston, and because of residential segregation and housing discrimination the black community in the 5th ward has been isolated and disenfranchised and today is one of the most prominent ghettos in Houston.
We visited Cavalcade Avenues and Liberty Avenues.

Sorry to divide this into two parts but its pretty long-I will get the second part up by Friday for you guys. While documenting illegally parked Public Vehicles in the Criminal Justice Center (which I do almost weekly)-I was set upon by off duty Houston Police Officer Orr. He became upset because he thought that I had taken photos of his vehicle on a public street. Despite my best efforts to deescalate the situation-Off Orr behaved eratically and gave me cause for concern.during the entire contact I was polite and cooperative with all Officers involved. And for being cordial-I was met with aggressive behavior and threats of arrest.
This is not what Citizens typically get from the Houston Police Dept.I have heard the "Problem Officers" are assigned to the DownTown area-from what I am seeing,it seems to be true.I have never had an HPD Officer lie to me (or about me) before and I have never had an HPD Officer Bully me and threaten me before this incident. Prior to this incident EVERY CONTACT I have ever had with an HPD Officer (20+) has been exemplary. Now,I see they need some very special attention=and I m just the guy to humiliate them with some. Just ask HCSO.
