The Tibet Autonomous Region (TAR) or Xizang Autonomous Region, called Tibet or Xizang (Tibetan: བོད་ ; Chinese: 西藏; pinyin: Xīzàng) for short, is a province-level autonomous region of the People's Republic of China (PRC). It was created in 1965 on the basis of Tibet's incorporation by the PRC in 1951.
Within China, Tibet is identified as an Autonomous Region. The current borders of Tibet were generally established in the 18th century and include about half of ethno-cultural Tibet. The Tibet Autonomous Region is the second-largest province-level division of China by area, spanning over 1,200,000 square kilometres (460,000 sq mi), after Xinjiang, and mostly due to its harsh and rugged terrain, is the least densely populated provincial-level division of the PRC.
Modern scholars still debate on the exact nature of relations between Tibet and the Chinese Ming dynasty (1368–1644) and whether the Ming had sovereignty over Tibet after the Mongol conquest of Tibet and Yuan administrative rule in the 13th and 14th centuries. While Tibet has formally been a protectorate of China and under administrative rule of the Qing dynasty (1644–1912) since 1720, from 1912 to 1950 Tibet was dissolved of suzerainty under China proper as a result of the Xinhai Revolution and concentration of the central government fighting against the Japanese invasion during World War II. Other parts of ethno-cultural Tibet (eastern Kham and Amdo) have also been under the administration of the Chinese dynastic government since the mid-eighteenth century; today they are distributed among the provinces of Qinghai, Gansu, Sichuan and Yunnan. Plot: What happened, that 24th of December? This is what officer Chartier wants to find out. To understand, he will have to go back 48 hours earlier to Franck's Christmas eve. Franck is an insignificant drama-teacher by day, but also belongs to a nameless and leaderless militant organisation - the Animal Liberation Front. These characters are bound by a limitless empathy towards mistreated animals, and will have to show courage to complete a mission they have been preparing for months. Their goal is to free dogs, condemned to be sold to laboratories for the purpose of live experiments. Their philosophy: when something has gone beyond the boundaries of reason, you have to forget about what's legal, and care about what seems right. During the questioning, Franck understands that one of his fellow campaigners betrayed him.

The capital city of China's Tibet Autonomous Region, Lhasa, has seen its heaviest snowfall in nearly two decades.
A "king" of golden eagles, who reigns over the snow-capped mountains around Laigu Village in Tibet Autonomous Region, seemed to be disturbed by Chinese and foreign journalists from CGTN, who recently traveled to this remote and quiet piece of land lying over 4,000 meters above sea level. Our reporter Pei Jian used his mobile phone to capture the grand flying gestures of the eagle who hovered overhead in defiance of the intruders. With a wing-span of over two meters, golden eagles have been listed as one of China's endangered species under first-class protection. Lhasa is a city and administrative capital of the Tibet Autonomous Region of the People's Republic of China. The main urban area of Lhasa is roughly equivalent to the administrative borders of Chengguan District, which is part of the wider Lhasa prefecture-level city, an area formerly administered as a prefecture. Lhasa is the second most populous city on the Tibetan Plateau after Xining and, at an altitude of 3,490 metres (11,450 ft), Lhasa is one of the highest cities in the world. The city has been the religious and administrative capital of Tibet since the mid-17th century. It contains many culturally significant Tibetan Buddhist sites such as the Potala Palace, Jokhang Temple and Norbulingka Palaces. lhasa dog lhasa singer lhasa hotels lhasa city lhasa forbidden city lhasa flights l...
*Featured on the official GoPro channel on 18th November, 2014* A video dedicated to the devoutness of the Tibetan people. As an autonomous region of China, Tibet is a predominantly Buddhist culture. Many of the people I've observed - both young and old - are deeply religious. I wanted to showcase the various kinds of devotion they show towards Buddhism. In my opinion, their religious culture poses a stark contrast to the officially atheist country of China. Whether it's prostration, praying, spinning prayer wheels, volunteering at monasteries or walking a kora, the Buddhist faith can be seen propagating everywhere. As some claim China is slowly culturally assimilating Tibet and edging out local natives to make way for more Han Chinese migration, religion seems to be their one way of maki...

Unreported Tibet The ancient land of Tibet has witnessed phenomenal changes since it became an autonomous region of the People’s Republic of China in 1965. Coverage of Tibet by global media is often dominated by a single narrative, concentrating on the region’s political relationship with the rest of China. But Tibet is a place with multiple narratives and stories that are all too often ignored and overlooked. A region steeped in religious symbolism and with a history stretching millennia, today’s Tibet faces challenges of development, and of how to embrace modernity while holding onto its traditions. The CCTVNEWS multimedia team travelled to Lhasa, the economic, cultural and political center of Tibet, and Shannan area, the birthplace of Tibetan ethnicity, to uncover the lives of ordinary ...

Tsering Woeser and Wang Lixiong are widely regarded as the most eloquent, insightful writers on contemporary Tibet. Their reportage on the economic exploitation, environmental degradation, cultural destruction, and political subjugation that plague the increasingly Han Chinese-dominated Tibet Autonomous Region (TAR) is as powerful as it is profound, ardent, and analytical in equal measure, and not in the least bit ideological. Voices from Tibet is a collection of essays and reportage in translation that captures the many facets of an unprecedented sea change wreaked by a rising China upon a scared land and its defenseless people. With the TAR in a virtual lockdown after the 2008 unrest, this book sheds important light on the simmering frustrations that touched off the unrest and Beijing’s ...
Qinghai Tibet Railway. 青藏鐵路; is a high-elevation railway that connects Xining, Qinghai Province, to Lhasa, Tibet Autonomous Region, in the People's Republic of China. The length of the railway is 1,956 km (1,215 mi). Construction of the 815 km (506 mi) section between Xining and Golmud was completed by 1984. Mr Thubten Samdup, Representative of His Holiness the Dalai Lama at the Office of Tibet, London, gave the Nanette Godfrey Memorial Lecture at Tudor Hall school on Thursday 5 May. Tudor Hall is a small, highly successful independent girls' boarding and day school west of Banbury, some 25 miles north of Oxford, England. Miss Nanette Godfrey was Headmistress of the school from 1984 until her untimely death in 2003, and was a great supporter of Tibet. The visit to Tudor Hall took place at the invitation of Diana Hughes, a teacher at the school, to the Representative to speak to the pupils at Tudor Hall and from neighbouring visiting schools about the Tibetan situation. Diana Hughes' personal interest in Tibet stems from the fact that her father, Harry Staunton, was the young doctor on the Br...
On October 13th, the premiere of the Song and Dance of Tibet - “Dreams” took place at the NCPA in Beijing. This stage production is presented by the Beijing Aid-Tibet Association and produced by Kalavinka Cultural Assets, a tribute to the 50th anniversary of the establishment of the Tibet Autonomous Region and the 9th anniversary of the Qinghai-Tibet railway. Both music and choreography of this production are breakthroughs for Chinese stage productions: “Dreams” embodies the essence of Tibetan traditional dances in a western outfit and the best of Tibetan music with an orchestral arrangement.
Nepal is a landlocked country in Southern Asia, between the Tibet autonomous region of China and India. It contains eight of the world's 10 highest peaks, including Mount Everest - the world's tallest - on the border with Tibet, and Lumbini, the birth place of Gautama Buddha, the founder of Buddhism. Nepal recently was declared a republic and has abolished the monarchy. This video was taken mainly in Nagarkot and Kathmandu as it was only a short trip so I had no chance visiting Pokhara and other places like Lumbini, etc. Video is taken with Sony Alpha A99, handheld and cooked with Adobe Premiere Pro CS6, no grading has been done.

Im Labyrinth kämpfe ich gegen den Feind
Glaubst du an Gott So glaubst du auch an mich

Fragen nach dem Feind Sie töten Dich
Töten mich Stellst du den Feind in Frage
Im Labyrinth interessiert das nicht
