Ali Shah

Ali Hassimshah Omarshah, known as Ali Shah (born August 7, 1959 in Salisbury - now Harare), is a former Zimbabwean cricketer. An all-rounder who batted left-handed and bowled right-arm medium pace, Shah played in three Tests and 28 One Day Internationals (ODIs) for Zimbabwe between 1983 and 1996, and was the first non-white player to represent the country.

Shah played in three Cricket World Cups, in 1983, 1987 and 1992, and was also a member of the team that won the ICC Trophy in 1986 and 1990. Towards the end of his career, he played domestically for Mashonaland in the Logan Cup.

After retiring from playing, Shah became a television commentator and a selector of the national team. He was removed from the latter role in 2004 following the sacking of captain Heath Streak.

Shah is currently living in Harare with his wife Aisha Omarshah, son Zain Omarshah and daughter Fariyah Omarshah. He is currently in business trading in various commodities from around the world.

Ali

Ali ibn Abi Talib (/ˈɑːli, ɑːˈliː/;Arabic: علي بن أبي طالب‎, translit. ʿAlī bin Abī Ṭālib, Arabic pronunciation: [ʕaliː bɪn ʔabiː t̪ˤaːlɪb]; 13 Rajab, 21 BH – 21 Ramadan, 40 AH; 15 September 601 – 29 January 661) was the cousin and son-in-law of the Islamic prophet Muhammad, ruling over the Islamic caliphate from 656 to 661.

Born to Abu Talib and Fatima bint Asad, Ali was the only person born in the sacred sanctuary of the Kaaba in Mecca, the holiest place in Islam, as many sources, especially Shia ones say. Ali was the first young male who accepted Islam. After migrating to Medina, he married Muhammad's daughter Fatimah. Ali took part in the early caravan raids from Mecca and later in almost all the battles fought by the nascent Muslim community. He was appointed caliph by Muhammad's Companions (Sahaba) in 656, after caliph Uthman ibn Affan was assassinated. Ali's reign saw civil unrest and in 661, he was attacked and assassinated by a Kharijite while praying in the Great Mosque of Kufa, dying two days later.

Qasim is the transliteration of the male given name (Arabic: قاسم‎, Qāsim), pronounced with a long first syllable. The meaning is one who distributes. The first known bearer of the name was the son of the Islamic prophet, Muhammad.

There is an occasional variant spelling, (Arabic: قسیم‎, Qasīm), distinguished by a long second syllable. Both names can also be used as surnames.

Shah (Šâh or Şah) (/ˈʃɑː/; Persian: شاه‎‎, [ʃɒːh], "king") is a title given to the emperors/kings and lords of Iran (historically also known as Persia). It was also adopted by the kings of Shirvan (a historical Iranian region in Transcaucasia) namely the Shirvanshahs, the rulers and offspring of the Ottoman Empire (termed there as Şeh), the Bengal Sultanate, as well as in Georgia, Afghanistan, and Pakistan. In Iran (Persia and Greater Persia) the title was continuously used; rather than King in the European sense, each Persian ruler regarded himself as the Šâhanšâh (King of Kings) or Emperor of the Persian Empire. Lahore College for Women University(Urdu: لاہور کالج فار ویمن یونیورسٹی‎) is an independent women's university in Lahore, Pakistan, founded as a women's college in 1922. One of the oldest female institutions of Pakistan, the university has 15,000 students and a teaching faculty of 450. It admits students at the intermediate,bachelors level master's and Ph.D. levels. Established in May 1922 as an intermediate residential college, it was housed in a building on Hall Road, Lahore, with a strength of 60 students, 25 of whom were boarders and 13 staff members.
