Caminito ("little walkway" or "little path" in Spanish) is a street museum and a traditional alley, located in La Boca, a neighborhood of Buenos Aires, Argentina. The place acquired cultural significance because it inspired the music for the famous tango "Caminito" (1926), composed by Juan de Dios Filiberto.
During the 1800s, a small stream flowing into the Riachuelo River ran along the same route where the Caminito is now. Later that century, this area of the stream became known as the Puntin, the Genoese diminutive term for bridge (a small bridge allowed people to cross the stream there). When the stream dried up, tracks for the Ferrocarril Buenos Aires y Puerto de la Ensenada were installed at the site. Disused tracks remain at the end of Caminito, along Garibaldi Street.
In 1954, the railroad closed, and the area where Caminito was became a landfill and the neighborhood's eyesore. Over the following three years, Argentine artist Benito Quinquela Martín who lived nearby, painstakingly prepared the walls facing the abandoned street, applying pastel colors, and by 1960 had a stage put up at the southern end; the wooden-plank stage was replaced with a nearby theatre house in 1972. The artist was a personal friend of Argentine tango composer Juan de Dios Filiberto, who created a well-known 1926 tune by the same name.

Julio Iglesias (Spanish pronunciation: [ˈxuljo iˈɣlesjas] born Julio José Iglesias de la Cueva; 23 September 1943) is a Grammy Award-winning Spanish singer and songwriter who has sold 100–300 million records worldwide in 14 languages and released more than 80 albums, and more than 2,600 gold and platinum records certified, making him one of the best selling artists of all time.
Eydie Gormé (also spelled Gorme; August 16, 1928 – August 10, 2013) was an American singer who performed solo as well as with her husband, Steve Lawrence, in popular ballads and swing. She earned numerous awards, including a Grammy and an Emmy. After retiring in 2009, she died in 2013, and is survived by Lawrence, who continues to perform as a solo act.
Gormé was born Edith Gorme (her obituary said Edith Gormezano, and census sources indicate Edith Garmezano) on August 16, 1928, in Manhattan, the daughter of Nessim and Fortuna, Sephardic Jewish immigrants. Her father, a tailor, was from Sicily and her mother was from Turkey. Gormé was a cousin of singer-songwriter Neil Sedaka.
She graduated from William Howard Taft High School in 1946 with Stanley Kubrick in her class. She worked for the United Nations as an interpreter, using her fluency in the Ladino and Spanish languages, while singing in Ken Greenglass's band during the weekends.
She got her big break and her recording debut in 1950 with the Tommy Tucker Orchestra and Don Brown. She made a second recording which featured Dick Noel. MGM issued these two recordings on 78.

Buenos Aires, Argentina trip 2016 - Recoleta Cemetery, Plaza de Mayo, Tango Argentina, Caminito Travel Videos HD, World Travel Guide http://www.youtube.com/subscription_center?add_user=World1Tube+ BA is an amazing city, and I'm proud to call it my birthplace. It's an astonishing metropolis that looks a bit like Europe, but with an edgy Latin American twist. Porteños (the city's residents) are passionate, opinionated and – once you get past their hard-city facade – very friendly. I love walking among them along the busy avenues, taking in the street life and often the craziness that goes along with it. This is a very special place, beautiful in its own unique way, resilient and creative. It's the kind of city travelers fall in love with, dream about and then move to! Tango ====== Argentin...
One of the most colorful and touristy areas you can visit in Buenos Aires is Caminito located in the heart of La Bocca Barrio (nieghborhood). Here you can enjoy overpriced meals, tango shows, souvenir shopping and people watching as you marvel at all of the colorful architecture. Nearby is where the Boca Juniors football club plays its home games. Overall, we feel it's worth a visit but is not an area you'd need to linger or return again. A tour of La Boca Barrio (Caminito) in Buenos Aires, Argentina Travel Video Transcript: So new vlog from Buenos Aires. Today we are visiting a neighborhood called La Boca. Caminito - Nana Mouskouri
J. de Dios Filiberto / C. Peñajola
Desde que se fue triste vivo yo,
Caminito, amigo, yo también me voy.
Desde que se fue nunca más volvió,
Seguiré sus pasos, Caminito, adiós.
Caminito que el tiempo ha borrado
Que juntos un día nos viste pasar,
He venido por última vez
He venido a contarte mi mal.
Caminito que entonces estabas
Bordado de trébol y juncos en flor,
Una sombra ya pronto serás
Una sombra lo mismo que yo.
Desde que se fue triste vivo yo,
Caminito, amigo, yo también me voy.
Desde que se fue nunca más volvió,
Seguiré sus pasos, Caminito, adiós.
Caminito que todas las tardes
Feliz recorría cantando mi amor,
No le digas si vuelve a pasar
Que mi llanto tu suelo regó
Caminito cubierto de cardos
La mano del tiempo tu huella borró
Yo a tu lado quisiera caer
Y que el tiempo nos mate a los dos
Desde que se fue triste vivo yo,
Caminito, amigo, yo también me voy.
Desde que se fue nunca más volvió,
Seguiré sus pasos, Caminito, adiós.
