    The traditional ensemble consists of 4 main melodic instruments: oud, nay, qanun & violin, & one main percussion instrument(riq). Sometimes the riq is supplemented/substituted with the tabla or daff. Older ensembles used a jawzah or kamanjah instead of the Western violin.
