Solidarity Actions for Hambi 9 in Germany

submitted to Earth First! Newswire

EF!J Editor’s Note: Since the arrest of the Hambi 9 (more information here), there have been solidarity actions across Germany. This is an incomplete list of communiques compiled from Unoffensive Animal, who wrote before listing information about these actions, “The climate in Hambi is electrifying. There are loud bangs and smoke covering the sky almost every night. Since the Hambi 9 got locked up activists have not taken a second to rest. It is almost as if they want to say; ‘if they don’t get released, we will burn the whole planet’.”

BANNER DROP

“In solidarity with the imprisoned activists and all people facing repression by the state a banner was dropped in Tübingen, southern Germany, saying “freedom for Hambach prisoners, war against everyone who destroys the earth and confines our comrades”

Since Tuesday January 23rd 2018, nine activists from the Hambach Forest occupation are in pre-trial detention, accused of obstructing the work of officers.”

To show our solidarity with the imprisoned activists and all people facing repression by the state a banner was dropped in Tübingen, southern Germany, saying “freedom for Hambach prisoners, war against everyone who destroys the earth and confines our comrades”

If you have time write letters to the prisoners, the addresses and more info can be found at the ABC Rhineland Blog.

We may not all have the time to squat trees and build barricades, but we all can spare some minutes to support the struggle against RWE and the destruction of our climate and ecosystem – may it be by writing letters to prisoners, dropping a banner or disarm a coal excavator.

Tear down the walls that keep us from each other!

Libertad por lxs presxs Hambi 9!”

RAILWAY SABOTAGED.

anonymous report:
“Revenge on the hambi-coal-rails.

On Friday, 26.01.2018, we switched off the RWE-coalrails. From a safe source, an autonomic anarchist-group got the information about what happened on monday, 22.01.2018 at the barricade eviction in the Hambacher forest.

Parliamentarians were invited for a “viewing on the police-work”. The police aided even the right-extremist politicians of AfD through the forest, safeguarded by 100 cops and a helicopter, not caring about the promise that AfD was not invited. It was a demonstration of power that ended embarrassing for both, police and RWE, because of the effective resistance of the activists in the forest. They were not able to evict successfully the barricades. To set precedence they locked up eleven people and sent them to court. They are still inside because they refused to give their ID to the oppressive system.

We want to show our highest appreciation to each and every one of them! The behaviour of RWE and government is disgusting, so we decided to come to NRW and switch off the coal-railway. The burning short circuit that we caused on the electricity-cables should teach them one thing: For every action, a reaction.

The principle is easy: From the top of a bridge let down nylon strings with weights on them on the left and right side of the cables down to the rails. Throw down the metal wire that is connected to the nylon strings and allow the short circuit to happen! Remember to close your eyes!

We will not doubt to come back and retaliate even more if things go further. We will always support those that are fighting against this oppressive government and we will take revenge in their names.

With love and solidarity to all prisoners.

SMASH CAPITALISM. SMASH THE STATE. SMASH RWE.

PUMPING STATION BURNT

anonymous report:

“Now more than ever!

In the night of the 26.1.2018, we sabotaged a pumping station of RWE with several incendiary devices. With that, we sent first smoke signals to the 9 fighting prisoners of the Hambacher forest movement.

Attacks against RWE-infrastructure are an important part of the Anti-Brown-coal-resistance. For that, there are different opportunities. Attacks on pumping stations are easy to do, as actions in the past show. They disturb the correct functioning of the mine. It causes not just money to replace the destroyed infrastructure, also the costs for the security-personal increased in the past.

We call for an increase in (militant) resistance against brown coal.

Regardless of the cutting having stopped in the Hambacher forest and although the next Ende Gelaende action might come soon: climate activism is not only once a year!
To the state: Your oppression will not intimidate us. The fight goes on…. Now more than ever!

With love and riot to the jail!

HIT REPORT!

December 2017, Hambacher Forst.

MULTIPLE SHOOTING TOWERS BURNT. THREATS MADE TO BUSINESS. SOLIDARITY WITH HAMBI 9.

anonymous report:
“For a couple of months, we have been clearing out all shooting towers, hunting cabins and stands around the forest. Those that were inside of the forest are long gone, but the surrounding areas are covered with metal and wood that aids the hunters splattering blood on the ground. This is unacceptable.

We discovered that the sand and stone exploitation by the forest is allowing hunters to create meadows for shooting stands, attracting wildlife to the area to then murder animals without compassion. We destroyed dozens before deciding to send a clearer message, so overnight and with only one security guard in the area we set multiple shooting huts and towers on fire, making sure that all were standing in the clear ground without risks of creating an uncontrollable fire.

They burnt rapidly and our anger calmed, but only shortly. We then decided to send a letter to the mine, allowing them to know our intentions. If the shooting towers aren’t destroyed by them, it won’t just be the hunting equipment that will burn, but their entire machinery will be a ball of fire. We believe to have been successful as all stands have been either demolished or taken away.

Let this also be a wink of solidarity with our friends in prison. Nine Hambis are locked up for resisting cops destroying a beautiful forest. Nine individuals with friends, with an uncontrollable thirst for freedom, are being locked up for caring about the planet.
Do not forget. We are active, we are fearless and we will attack when is necessary. We are not concerned about consequences and we will reach no compromise.

For a future without speciesism and where animals can be free. For a future where the planet is respected and loved. For a future without prisons. For an anarchist future.

REPRESSION IS FOR BURNING.
