Versace, and other designer brands you are mispronouncing

Donatella Versace is the latest famous face to be profiled on Vogue's video series, 73 Questions, and the answer to one question should not go unnoticed.

Versace, who is co-chair of this year's Catholicism-themed – not kidding – Met Gala, gave a tour of her Milan apartment as she answered a series of important questions like:

Heels or flats? (Heels.) The best movie ever made? (Oscar favourite The Shape of Water.) And, is it true she has worked out every day for the past 18 years? (Yes, "even if only for five minutes".)

But it was the word Versace, whose brother Gianni's 1997 murder is the subject of the current season of American Crime Story, cannot stand non-Italian speakers mispronouncing which was particularly interesting.

Because it is... the word "Versace".

Take note. The fashion family's surname is said not as "Ver-sach-ee", with a long "ee", but "Ver-sach-eh", with a short and flat vowel sound on the end.

Luckily, the interviewer had it correct from the start.
