Neat, but underwhelming

The amount of iron shavings in this seems to be on the lower end of the spectrum (the magnet may be weak, but it's strong enough to snap to the tin.) If you work the putty in your hands to disperse the shavings (and warm the putty up so it's a bit more malleable) the provided magnet will be able to attract it as intended (It will work better if you have a stronger magnet on hand.) You have to be patient with it though; it works best if you hold the magnet so it almost touches, and slowly pull it away. It does work, but for the price I was hoping there would be a higher percentage of iron shavings for a more noticeable reaction.

It was purchased as a gift for a co worker to keep on his desk (for him and others to play with) and while it does work, the general consensus is that it's neat but a bit underwhelming. If you get it, you may want to invest in a better magnet.

I bought this as a Christmas gift for my boys ages 6 and 12 along with extra magnet sets. Based on reviews and videos I was really excited about this gift. I thought this would be great Christmas day entertainment. I was really disappointed.This putty is barely magnetic. After purchasing this my internet was inundated by videos of this putty eating magnets, my 12 year old took the time for this to happen which was most of Christmas day, nothing like the video suggests. It basically amounts to silly putts that is slightly magnetic. I wish I had chosen a ball magnet set for my boys instead, that would have allowed for the desired effect for the same price.
I do my internet research prior to buying, which doubled my disappointment.

Bought this for my oldest kids (25 & 22) for Christmas as stocking stuffers, a grown up version of silly putty. They love them, use them as "stress balls"

I love it so much I bought 3 more.

UPDATE: I ordered more of this putty for my younger kids, 7&9, big mistake, HUGE! It's everywhere and it stains. This is totally my fault for not monitoring their use of it, I guess I was applied by regular silly putty. So it's fun for ADULTS

Didn't work, and customer service phone number on box a scam

Product didn't flow well at all, very solid and stiff. Called the customer service number on box and it called a telemarketing center. Very difficult to understand, but didn't listen to my problem, just wanted to pitch me on a free $100 gift card, I repeatedly said I wasn't interested, just wanted to talk about the problem with the product, he started saying he couldn't hear me well, I asked for a supervisor and he gave me a different phone number to call. I called the number he gave me and it was Verizon wireless, amazon was good enough to refund my purchase of 5 units

Fun to play with, the magnetic properties seem lacking at first but it's almost as if the magnetic "charges" them. The cost seems excessive but it's fair for the market.
