Perth gang president to face court over Midland meth bust

The president of a little-known gang based in Perth will face court next week on a string of drug charges.

Two men were arrested on Tuesday following a raid on the Naala Moort clubhouse on Rodgers Street in Midland.

During the search police allegedly found 112 grams of methamphetamine.

The raid was part of an operation into suspected criminal gang dealing in illicit drugs in Geraldton, Carnarvon, Karratha and Port Hedland.

Both men who are members of the gang have been charged with three counts each of selling or supplying a trafficable quantity of methamphetamine, one count of selling methamphetamine and one count of conspiracy to sell or supply a prohibited drug.

One has an extra charge of possession of a trafficable quantity of methamphetamine with intent to sell or supply it to another.

The 43-year-old Naala Moort president has been remanded in custody and is next due to appear in the Midland Magistrates Court on February 15.

A 44-year-old man was due to appear in the South Hedland Magistrates Court on Wednesday.

Investigations are continuing into the activities of the Naala Moort gang.
