    There is a myth that if you are bad at mathematics, you can’t enter a STEM field. Having a natural competence in mathematics can be helpful but skill and intelligence grow with consistent practice and effort. Getting involved in projects is the first step to do this.

    Really enjoying this book! Marie Curie was 1st woman to win science Nobel prize and 1st person to win 2 Nobel prizes. Her life story shows how passion, hard work & resilience are vital in a science career but also support, including affordable childcare.

    While waiting to head home from the meeting I decided to 'analyze' some data... 35% of the moderators and ~40% of the spotlight speakers were women. Thanks to the - Greater representation will certainly help close the gap for future generations!

    Dr. Marie Maynard Daly was the first African-American woman to receive a PhD in Chemistry. She overcame racial & gender bias to pursue a career in chemistry & was an advocate for minority student enrollment in medical and graduate science programs.
