Television is an American rock band, formed in New York City in 1973 and considered influential in the development of punk and alternative music.
Television was an early fixture of CBGB and the 1970s New York rock scene. Although they recorded in a stripped-down, guitar-based manner similar to their punk contemporaries, the band's music was by comparison clean, improvisational, and technically proficient, drawing influence from avant-garde jazz and 1960s rock. The group's debut album, Marquee Moon, is often considered one of the defining releases of the punk era.
Television's roots can be traced to the teenage friendship between Tom Verlaine and Richard Hell. The duo met at Sanford School in Hockessin, Delaware, from which they ran away. Both moved to New York, separately, in the early 1970s, aspiring to be poets.
Their first group together was the Neon Boys, consisting of Verlaine on guitar and vocals, Hell on bass and vocals and Billy Ficca on drums. The group lasted from late 1972 to late 1973. A 7-inch record featuring "That's All I Know (Right Now)" and "Love Comes in Spurts" was released in 1980.

Television - Marquee Moon 1977 Marquee Moon Synopsis: Somewhere the line was inscribed in asphalt between punk and jam bands, and Television crossed it valiantly. At the forefront of this is their track Marquee Moon from the album of the same name. With the twin attack of Tom Verlaine and Richard Lloyd on guitar comes a rhythmical assault of punk that all gets turned on its head at the epic climax of this song. In concert, the band has sometimes extended the song to as long as fifteen minutes. Lyrics: I remember how the darkness doubled I recall lightning struck itself. I was listening listening to the rain I was hearing hearing something else. Life in the hive puckered up my night, the kiss of death, the embrace of life. There I stand neath the Marquee Moon Just waiting, Hesitating.....

Televisions - New Flesh I listened to the cure, I listened to the cure, I listened to the cure and then I cried I watched Videodrome, I watched Videodrome, I watched Videodrome and lost my mind I tried to write a song, I tried to write a song, I tried to write a song I think you'd like But no one gives a shit, no one gives a shit about my life Until I die I have nightmares, I have nightmares, I have nightmares all the time So I stay awake, so I stay awake so I stay awake all night I say I'm gonna leave, I say I'm gonna leave, I say I'm gonna leave but I think you're right I'm gonna stay right here, I'm gonna stay right here, I'm gonna stay right here until I die Until I die "i do not own this song" i just like it"
Up on the high, high hills - with my floating friend - Watchin' all the silver - no one can ever spend I feel the touch of her hand and all it will erase; These footprints I followed tho they followed my every pace - Days, be more than all we have. No matter how much I cross I always see the same stream. I'm standing up on these bridges that are standing in a dream.

I jump outa bed and pull down the shade I used to have such sweet dreams - now it's more like an air raid. I see the opposition clear - I see them stare I don't care - it doesn't matter to me - I never think about it Slip out of myself like a shadow and somersault thru walls I can't tell, it's really so odd Is this spring or fall? Your wine is just sour grapes Pour me a glass anytime I'm not there Careful Careful I'm not bitter I just get so sore I need that girl more and more Cuz when she whispers in my ear it gets so hard It get's so hard to get out of bed It's more than I can do. If someone must work today, let it be you. All this confusion hit me like a dare but I don't care.
Television, formed in New York City in 1973, is an American rock music band. Although Television never achieved mainstream commercial success, they are widely understood as one of the key founders of punk rock.

Marquee Moon is the debut album by American rock band Television, released in 1977. While often considered a seminal work to come out of the New York punk scene of the late 1970s, the album differs from conventional punk in its clean, textured guitar-based arrangements and extended improvisation. As a result, it is also often cited as important to the development of post-punk and New Wave genres. While critically acclaimed at the time of its release, the album failed to garner commercial success. Marquee Moon has been ranked highly in many "best of" music lists.

Check out this other equally fine, early, rare Television recording, also from '74, "Horizontal Ascension": http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=2tMSNmKV1sk Some (e.g. me) think "Horizontal Ascension" surpasses "I'm Gonna Find You." There are worthwhile early Television songs recorded that Richard Hell co-wrote & sings. It's too bad every time I try uploading any of them, they get spiked by a copyright infringement claim by "Richard Meyers" (Hell's real name). Bloody Hell! A bootleg called "Poor Circulation" contains many of these early, unreleased Television songs, including "I'm Gonna Find You," and including Hell-sung songs. Richard Lloyd made his name as the guitarist for the underground rock band 'Television'. Having joined the band (Richard Hell - Bass, Vocals, Tom Verlaine - Guitar, Vocals, Billy Ficca - Drums) in 1973, he and Television manager Terry Ork discovered CBGB the following year - the club out of which American Punk music developed. Signed to Elektra in 1977, the band recorded two seminal albums - 'Marquee Moon' and 'Adventure', and despite the stature of these works now, at the time they failed to break Television into the big time, and they disbanded in 1978. In this interview Lloyd discusses the New York underground scene in the 1970s, Andy Warhol, CBGB and the host of acts who emerged there (including The Ramones), his time in Television and the UK Punk scene they inspired.

Crush, DEAN)', 지난 4월에 발매했던 싱글 'She’s a Baby'까지 더해져 총 6곡이 수록됐다.

This sermon exposes the truth about the television and how every show on TV is programming your mind to think a certain way. There is a reason that it is called "Programming". TV is Satans tool to get us to be weak on sin and brainwash us into accepting the New World Order, Homosexuality, other religions and everything Wicked and evil. Why is TV Sorcery? 1) Filled with subliminal messages 2) It is the World 3) Unhealthy Life Style 4) TV Brain Washes to believe whatever is on. --Homos fine, New World Order, Accept Anything, Jesus is a Joke, etc. 5) Warped view of the physical Body Churches site: http://www.faithfulwordbaptist.org/ Churches YouTube: https://www.youtube.com/user/sanderson1611 My site: http://www.servischillzone.com/

As someone who grew up watching You Can't Do That On Television (which was taped right here in Ottawa at CJOH) this was one of the highlights of the con for me. Christine (Moose) McGlade, Doug Ptolemy, Stephanie Bauder, Justin Cammy and Abby Hagyard all talked about the show and answered questions from the audience. Television, say you love me
Television, say you care
Loneliness is my profession
Show me those who are not there
Television, murmur to me
Deep inside my room tonight
You're the devil's fishbowl, honey
I undress before your lies
Your lies...
Your lies...
Television, open to me
My remote is in my hand
I can dim you to a red light
Honey, try to understand
I'm there...
So there...

Television, I'm so sorry
If I turned you off back there
I'm so small in your dimension
My kid will look like you, I swear
I swear...
Oh, I swear...
