Wage

A wage is monetary compensation (or remuneration, personnel expenses, labor) paid by an employer to an employee in exchange for work done. Payment may be calculated as a fixed amount for each task completed (a task wage or piece rate), or at an hourly or daily rate, or based on an easily measured quantity of work done.

Wages are an example of expenses that are involved in running a business.

Payment by wage contrasts with salaried work, in which the employer pays an arranged amount at steady intervals (such as a week or month) regardless of hours worked, with commission which conditions pay on individual performance, and with compensation based on the performance of the company as a whole. Waged employees may also receive tips or gratuity paid directly by clients and employee benefits which are non-monetary forms of compensation. Since wage labour is the predominant form of work, the term "wage" sometimes refers to all forms (or all monetary forms) of employee compensation.

Wage War is an American metalcore band from Ocala, Florida formed in 2013.

History

The beginnings and debut album Blueprints

Wage War was formed in 2013 in Ocala, Florida by lead vocalist Briton Bond, guitarists Seth Blake and Cody Quistad, as well as by bassist Chris Gaylord and drummer Stephen Kluesener. First roots of the group can be seen back in 2010 when Quistad and Blake decided to form a band. The band got signed to Fearless Records on June 15, 2015. The same day the band released the song Alive which is part of the debut full-length album Blueprints. The album was produced by Andrew Wade and Jeremy McKinnon, both musicians from A Day to Remember.Blueprints was released on November 27, 2015 and sold about 2.300 copies the first week.

In November and December 2015 the band toured throughout the United States and Canada as opening act for August Burns Red, Every Time I Die and Stick to Your Guns. Wage War was announced to be part of the Desolation Of Eden Tour hosted by Chelsea Grin, Lorna Shore and Oceans Ate Alaska starting on February 29, 2016. The tour ends after 24 concerts in Edmonton on March 19, 2016. On February 7, 2016 the band was announced for taking part at 2016's Download Festival at Donington Park, United Kingdom.

Music video

A music video or song video is a short film integrating a song and imagery, produced for promotional or artistic purposes. Modern music videos are primarily made and used as a marketing device intended to promote the sale of music recordings. There are also cases where songs are used in tie in marketing campaigns that allow them to become more than just a song. Tie ins and merchandising could be used in toys are marketing campaigns for food and other products. Although the origins of music videos date back to musical short films that first appeared in the 1920s, they came into prominence in the 1980s when MTV based their format around the medium. Prior to the 1980s, these works were described by various terms including "illustrated song", "filmed insert", "promotional (promo) film", "promotional clip", "promotional video", "song video", "song clip" or "film clip". Since the creation and increased popularity of YouTube, mainstream artists now promote new music videos by releasing trailers of short promos on the site for their upcoming song and music video. Consequentially, YouTube has been converted into a social media platform for celebrities and artists to market themselves to their fans and audiences.
