Cheltenham /ˈtʃɛltnəm/, also known as Cheltenham Spa, is a large spa town and borough in Gloucestershire, England, located on the edge of the Cotswolds.
Cheltenham is the home of the flagship race of British steeplechase horse racing. The Gold Cup is the main event of the Cheltenham Festival, held every March.
The town also hosts several festivals of culture, often featuring nationally and internationally famous contributors and attendees. The list of festivals includes: Greenbelt, the Cheltenham Literature Festival, the Cheltenham Jazz Festival, the Cheltenham Science Festival, the Cheltenham Music Festival and the Cheltenham Food & Drink Festival.
Cheltenham takes its name from the small River Chelt, which rises nearby at Dowdeswell and runs through the town on its way to the Severn. The town was the meeting place for the court of the Hundred of Cheltingham at the time of the Domesday Book. The town was awarded a market charter in 1226.
Cheltenham Town Football Club /ˈtʃɛltnəm ˈtaʊn/ is an English football club based in the Town of Cheltenham, Gloucestershire. As of the start of the 2015–16 season, they will play in the National League, the fifth tier of English football. Founded in 1887, the team has played at three different grounds, namely Agg-Gardner's Recreation Ground, Carter's Field, and now Whaddon Road, which is known for commercial reasons as The World of Smile Stadium. Their nickname is The Robins, and the club is affiliated to the Gloucestershire County FA.
Promoted to The Football League as Conference Premier champions in 1999, Cheltenham have played as high as League One, the third tier of English football, spending a total of four seasons there. Their best FA Cup run saw them reach the last 16 (fifth round) in 2002. The last piece of silverware won by the club was the Football Conference title in 1999, when the club attained full League status for the first time. Its league status was lost with relegation in 2015.
Football League Two (often referred to as League Two for short or Sky Bet League 2 for sponsorship reasons) is the third-highest division of The Football League and fourth-highest division overall in the English football league system.
Football League Two was introduced for the 2004–05 season. It was previously known as the Football League Third Division. Before the advent of the Premier League, the fourth-highest division was known as the Football League Fourth Division.
At present (2014–15 season), Accrington Stanley hold the longest tenure in League Two, last being outside the division in the 2005–06 season when they were promoted from the Conference Premier.
There are 24 clubs in Football League Two. Each club plays each of the other clubs twice (once at home, once away) and is awarded three points for a win, one for a draw and no points for a loss. From these points a league table is constructed.
At the end of each season the top three teams, together with the winner of the play-offs between the teams which finished in fourth–seventh position, are promoted to Football League One and are replaced by the four teams that finished bottom of that division.
Luton Town Football Club /ˈluːtən ˈtaʊn/ is an English association football club based since 1905 at Kenilworth Road, Luton, Bedfordshire. Founded in 1885, it is nicknamed "the Hatters" and affiliated to the Bedfordshire County Football Association. Its first team is contesting the fourth tier of English football, League Two, during the 2015–16 season. The club's history includes major trophy wins, several financial crises, numerous promotions and relegations, and some spells of sustained success. It was perhaps most prominent between 1982 and 1992, when it was a member of English football's top division, at that time the First Division; the team won its first major honour, the Football League Cup, in 1988.
The club was the first in southern England to turn professional, making payments to players as early as 1890 and turning fully professional a year later. It joined the Football League before the 1897–98 season, left in 1900 because of financial problems, and rejoined in 1920. Luton reached the First Division in 1955–56 and contested a major final for the first time when playing Nottingham Forest in the 1959 FA Cup Final. The team was then relegated from the top division in 1959–60, and demoted twice more in the following five years, playing in the Fourth Division from the 1965–66 season. However, it was promoted back to the top level by 1974–75.

The old GWR terminus station at Cheltenham Spa (St James) lost a considerable amount of its purpose in 1961 when through trains over the MSWJR were withdrawn, closely followed by Kingham services the following year. By Summer 1965 just a few DMU services to Gloucester survived and a number of these are seen in May at the station and the nearby intermediate Chelenham Spa (Malvern Road), complete closure taking place on 3rd January 1966. Cheltenham is a spa town and borough in Gloucestershire with a population of about 110,013. And it's less than a hundred miles from London. Cheltenham is on the edge of the Cotswolds and has an image of being respectable and wealthy. Cheltenham has been a health and holiday spa town resort since the discovery of mineral springs there in 1716. The spa waters continue to be taken recreationally at Pittville Pump Room, built for this purpose and completed in 1830. Cheltenham's success as a spa town is reflected in the railway station, which is still called Cheltenham Spa, and spa facilities in other towns that were inspired by or named after it. The town is said to be "the most complete regency town in England", with its houses, characterised by intricate ironwork balconies and painted stucco...
Visiting the Cheltenham Badlands on a rainy day in Caledon, Ontario, Canada. One of the joys we've discovered traveling abroad is that we don't often have to go far to find adventure. With this mindset, we set off from our temporary home in Brampton, Ontario to visit the Cheltenham Badlands located in Caledon, Ontario, Canada. Merely a fifteen to twenty minute drive, we passed through rural farmland and marveled at the fact it only takes a few minutes to escape suburbia. In this video I visited Cheltenham Spa station located on part of the Great Western Main Line. Services are seen here by Cross Country, Great Western Railway and Arriva Trains Wales. Joining me here was TrainclipsHD, SFTFan1909, OMGTrains, Rob's Public Transport Videos and BRS Spotter so do check their channels out. I found this station brilliant to film at. There was lots of variety throughout the session capturing yet again the on hire South West Trains 158, an Arriva Trains Wales 158 and plenty of Cross Country stock including a HST. The highlight had to be seeing the passing DRS Class 66 hauling a Tesco train though. Overall an enjoyable film here and first time for over 2 years. My next station is Patchway and this will be uploaded on Sunday 15th January. If you have liked what y...
