Pollution

Pollution is the introduction of contaminants into the natural environment that cause adverse change. Pollution can take the form of chemical substances or energy, such as noise, heat or light. Pollutants, the components of pollution, can be either foreign substances/energies or naturally occurring contaminants. Pollution is often classed as point source or nonpoint source pollution.

Ancient cultures

Air pollution has always accompanied civilizations. Pollution started from prehistoric times when man created the first fires. According to a 1983 article in the journal Science, "soot found on ceilings of prehistoric caves provides ample evidence of the high levels of pollution that was associated with inadequate ventilation of open fires." Metal forging appears to be a key turning point in the creation of significant air pollution levels outside the home. Core samples of glaciers in Greenland indicate increases in pollution associated with Greek, Roman and Chinese metal production, but at that time the pollution was comparatively small and could be handled by nature.

Central Pollution Control Board

The Central Pollution Control Board (CPCB) of India is a statutory organisation under the Ministry of Environment and Forests (MoEF). It was established in 1974 under the Water (Prevention and Control) Act, 1974. CPCB is also entrusted with the powers and functions under the Air (Prevention and Control of Pollution) Act, 1981. It serves as a field formation and also provides technical services to the Ministry of Environment and Forests under the provisions of the Environment (Protection) Act, 1986. It Co-ordinates the activities of the State Pollution Control Boards by providing technical assistance and guidance and also resolves disputes among them. It is the apex organisation in country in the field of pollution control, as a technical wing of MoEF. The board is led by its chairman, who is nominated by the Central Government. The current acting chairman is Shri Arun Kumar Mehta IAS .

CPCB has its head office in New Delhi, with seven zonal offices and 5 laboratories. The board conducts environmental assessments and research. It is responsible for maintaining national standards under a variety of environmental laws, in consultation with zonal offices, tribal, and local governments. It has responsibilities to conduct monitoring of water and air quality, and maintains monitoring data. The agency also works with industries and all levels of government in a wide variety of voluntary pollution prevention programs and energy conservation efforts. It advises the central government to prevent and control water and air pollution. It also advises the Governments of Union Territories on industrial and other sources of water and air pollution. CPCB along with its counterparts the State Pollution Control Boards (SPCBs) are responsible for implementation of legislation relating to prevention and control of environmental pollution.

Revelation (Peter Andre album)

Revelation is the sixth studio album released by Australian singer-songwriter Peter Andre.

Background

Following a further three years away from the music industry, Andre had been quietly writing and recording new material. Andre was offered a recording contract with Conehead Management following the success of his ITV2 fly-on-the-wall documentary, Peter Andre: The Next Chapter. Andre began recording with Conehead in January 2009. On 9 August 2009, "Behind Closed Doors" was revealed as the first single from Andre's upcoming album. The track was co-written by Andre, AC Burrell and Francesca Richard. "Unconditional" was revealed as the second and final single from the album, due for release on 9 November 2009. However, the track had already charted on the UK Singles Chart, following promotion and download sales. Upon the physical release, the track peaked at #50, Andre's second lowest charting single to date. The video for the track premiered on The Box on 16 October 2009. The album itself was released on 19 September 2009, peaking at #3 on the UK Albums Chart, and selling more than 300,000 copies to be certified platinum. The album's tracklisting was confirmed via Play.com on 14 August 2009.

Austin John

Austin John Winkler (born October 25, 1981) is an American singer-songwriter best known for being the former lead singer of the American rock band Hinder. Winkler was one of the founding members of Hinder and recorded a total of one EP, four studio albums and released twenty-four singles to radio while with them during his 12-year tenure with the band. Since his departure from Hinder, Winkler has continued his career as a solo artist.

Winkler is set to release his first studio album as a solo artist titled Austin John in late 2015 to early 2016.

Time with Hinder 2001-2013

Before forming Hinder with alongside bandmates Cody Hanson and Joe "Blower" Garvey, Winkler sang in a Oklahoma City cover band up until July 2001. While playing at a college party, Winkler met Hanson and Garvey and shortly thereafter the three formed Hinder. Hinder released their debut EP titled Far From Close in 2003 under the independent label Brickden Records, the EP went on to sale around 5,000 copies.

Metro Station (album)

Metro Station is the eponymously titled debut length album by pop band Metro Station. The album was released on September 18, 2007 under Columbia/Red Ink.

Four singles were released from the album; "Shake It" and "Seventeen Forever" charted on the Billboard Hot 100. The album debuted at #189 on the U.S. Billboard 200, but reached a peak of #39 in June 2008. The single "Shake It" was certified Platinum in 2008. Since its release, Metro Station has sold approximately 400,000 copies in the United States.

The album was released in the UK on March 30, 2009. The version of the album released in the UK contains 2 exclusive bonus tracks including a brand new track, "After the Fall". The first UK single, "Shake It", was released a week before, on March 23, 2009.

Central (Monterrey Metro)

The Central Station (Spanish: Estación Central) is a station on Line 1 of the Monterrey Metro. It is located in the Madero Avenue in the Monterrey Centre. It was opened on April 25, 1991.

This station serves the northwest side of the downtown area and also the Monterrey Bus Depot (Central de Autobuses). It is accessible for people with disabilities.

This station is named after the Bus Depot nearby, and its logo represents a couple of buses. Because of the name, "Estación Central" this station is not to be confused with the term "Central Station" of some Europeans cities.

Central (Liverpool ward)

Coordinates: 53°24′36″N 2°58′48″W / 53.410°N 2.980°W / 53.410; -2.980 Central is a Liverpool City Council Ward in the Liverpool Riverside Parliamentary constituency. The population at the 2011 census was 20,340. It was formed for the 2004 municipal elections from the former Abercromby, Everton and Smithdown wards. It contains the majority of the city centre but also includes Kensington Fields in Kensington to the east and the Marybone/Holy Cross community in Vauxhall. The ward includes the longstanding city centre community around the Bullring, as well as many new city centre apartments. Furthermore, the ward contains the Pier Head and the two larger universities; the University of Liverpool and Liverpool John Moores University.

In 2004 Central was the city's most marginal ward, largely due to the intervention of the hard left Liverpool Labour Community Party. In more recent elections has become safer for Labour. The May 2008 local elections saw Labour take 62% of the vote.
