Morgan Freeman returns as forensic psychologist Dr. Alex Cross in this thriller based on the novel by James Patterson (whose work also formed the basis of the hit Kiss the Girls). Gary Soneji (Michael Wincott) is a brilliant but remorseless psychopath who has landed a teaching position at an exclusive private school in Washington, D.C. Using his extensive knowledge of kidnapping (he's taught a class on Charles Lindbergh), Soneji abducts one of his students - Megan (Mika Boorem), whose father Hank Rose (Michael Moriarty) is a United States senator. Ollie MacArthur (Dylan Baker), the detective investigating the case, has strong words for Jezzie Flannigan (Monica Potter), the Secret Service agent who mistakenly let Megan slip through her fingers. But when the kidnapper contacts Dr. Cross, the psychologist is brought in on the case, and Cross seeks out Flannigan, who he believes might have a valuable insight into the case. Soon, Cross and Flannigan come to the terrible realization that this crime only represents the tip of the iceberg for the ruthless Soneji. Along Came a Spider also features Penelope Ann Miller, Jay O. Sanders, and Kim Hawthorne.

Actor-turned-director and producer Griffin Dunne (Practical Magic, Addicted to Love) teams up with scenarist Dirk Wittenborn for the slice-of-life ensemble drama Fierce People. As summer encroaches, 16-year-old Manhattanite Finn Earl (Anton Yelchin) would love nothing more than to trek off to South America and spend the year's sun-drenched months near the equator, embarking on thrilling adventures with his estranged archaeologist father, whom he's never met. Alas, the bonds of family rein in tight when Finn's booze- and coke-addled mother, the masseuse Liz (Diane Lane), cries out for help -- and, in the process, unwittingly gets Finn arrested. In a dramatic attempt to reverse circumstances and sort out the complications in both of their lives, Liz insists on taking custody of Finn for the summer. Both, she insists, will live in the home of one of her former massage clients, the aging billionaire Ogden C. Osborne (Donald Sutherland) -- with whom she may be amorously involved. Though Finn agrees begrudgingly at first, in time he finds the environment welcoming -- as he develops a crush on Ogden's gorgeous granddaughter (Kristen Stewart) and befriends Ogden's grandson. Christopher Shyer (sometimes credited as Chris Shyer) is a Canadian actor who has appeared in over 50 film and television roles.

Shyer was born in Downsview, Ontario, Canada.
Acting career
Shyer has appeared in multiple guest roles on television since 1994, including: Viper, The New Outer Limits, Smallville, Monk, JAG, CSI: Miami, CSI: Crime Scene Investigation, and a critically acclaimed recurring role as the Hannibal Lecter-like character "Lawrence O'Malley" in The Practice. He more recently appeared in a supporting role on ABC-TV's re-imagined V series as "Marcus," second-in-command to the V high commander, Anna (Morena Baccarin).
His varied film roles have included The Falling (1998, as "Lars"), The Invitation (2003, as "Joel Gellman"), The Lazarus Child (2004, as "John Boyd"), Fierce People (2005, as "Dr. Leffler"), and Big Bad Wolf (2006, as "Charlie Cowley").
He has also starred on Broadway as "Sam" in Mamma Mia and "Dean Newhouse" in Going Down Swingin', following successful stints in the Canadian productions of Miss Saigon, Les Misérables, Phantom of the Opera and Sunset Boulevard.

Yanomami
The Yanomami, also spelled Yąnomamö or Yanomama, are a group of approximately 35,000 indigenous people who live in some 200–250 villages in the Amazon rainforest on the border between Venezuela and Brazil.
The name Yanomami
The ethnonym Yanomami was produced by anthropologists on the basis of the word yanõmami which, in the expression yanõmami thëpë, signifies "human beings." This expression is opposed to the categories yaro (game animals) and yai (invisible or nameless beings), but also napë (enemy, stranger, non-Indian).

History
The first report of the Yanomami to the Western world is from 1759, when a Spanish expedition under Apolinar Diez de la Fuente visited some Yecuana living on the Padamo River. Diez wrote:
From approximately 1630 to 1720 the complex river-based societies, previously noted all around them, were wiped out or reduced as a result of slave-hunting expeditions by the Spanish Conquistadors and the Portuguese Bandeirantes. Whether this affected the Yanomami, and how, are matters of pure speculation.

Griffin Dunne
Thomas Griffin Dunne (born June 8, 1955), known professionally as Griffin Dunne, is an American actor, film producer and film director.
Early life
Dunne was born Thomas Griffin Dunne in New York City, the son of Ellen Beatriz (née Griffin) and Dominick Dunne. His mother founded the victims' rights organization Justice for Homicide Victims after the murder of her daughter, Dominique. His father was a producer, writer, and actor. He is the older brother of Alexander and Dominique Dunne. He is also the nephew of John Gregory Dunne and Joan Didion.

Acting
Dunne has acted in numerous films, TV movies and TV series, starting with The Other Side of the Mountain in 1975. Dunne starred in An American Werewolf in London (1981) as Jack Goodman, Johnny Dangerously (1984) as Tommy Kelly, After Hours (1985) as Paul Hackett, Who's That Girl (1987) as Loudon Trott, My Girl (1991) as Jake Bixler, Quiz Show (1994) as the Geritol Account Executive, Game 6 (2005) as Elliott Litvak and I Like It Like That (1994) as Stephen Price.

Dirk Wittenborn
Dirk Wittenborn (born in 1952 in New Haven, Connecticut) is an American screenwriter and novelist.
Biography
Wittenborn was born into a family of scientists. He has two older sisters and an older brother. He graduated from the University of Pennsylvania and started writing in the early 1980s while working at Saturday Night Live. Wittenborn is married and has a child. His nephew is James Wittenborn "Jamie" Johnson, a film director, with whom he produced the Emmy-nominated HBO documentary Born Rich.

FILM DESCRIPTION:
Morgan Freeman returns as forensic psychologist Dr. Alex Cross in this thriller based on the novel by James Patterson (whose work also formed the basis of the hit Kiss the Girls). Gary Soneji (Michael Wincott) is a brilliant but remorseless psychopath who has landed a teaching position at an exclusive private school in Washington, D.C. Using his extensive knowledge of kidnapping (he's taught a class on Charles Lindbergh), Soneji abducts one of his students - Megan (Mika Boorem), whose father Hank Rose (Michael Moriarty) is a United States senator. Ollie MacArthur (Dylan Baker), the detective investigating the case, has strong words for Jezzie Flannigan (Monica Potter), the Secret Service agent who mistakenly let Megan slip through her fingers. But when the kidnapper contacts Dr. Cross, the psychologist is brought in on the case, and Cross seeks out Flannigan, who he believes might have a valuable insight into the case. Soon, Cross and Flannigan come to the terrible realization that this crime only represents the tip of the iceberg for the ruthless Soneji. Actor-turned-director and producer Griffin Dunne (Practical Magic, Addicted to Love) teams up with scenarist Dirk Wittenborn for the slice-of-life ensemble drama Fierce People. As summer encroaches, 16-year-old Manhattanite Finn Earl (Anton Yelchin) would love nothing more than to trek off to South America and spend the year's sun-drenched months near the equator, embarking on thrilling adventures with his estranged archaeologist father, whom he's never met. Alas, the bonds of family rein in tight when Finn's booze- and coke-addled mother, the masseuse Liz (Diane Lane), cries out for help -- and, in the process, unwittingly gets Finn arrested. In a dramatic attempt to reverse circumstances and sort out the complications in both of their lives, Liz insists on taking custody of Finn for the summer. Both, she insists, will live in the home of one of her former massage clients, the aging billionaire Ogden C. Osborne (Donald Sutherland) -- with whom she may be amorously involved. Though Finn agrees begrudgingly at first, in time he finds the environment welcoming -- as he develops a crush on Ogden's gorgeous granddaughter (Kristen Stewart) and befriends Ogden's grandson. Actor-turned-director and producer Griffin Dunne (Practical Magic, Addicted to Love) teams up with scenarist Dirk Wittenborn for the slice-of-life ensemble drama Fierce People. As summer encroaches, 16-year-old Manhattanite Finn Earl (Anton Yelchin) would love nothing more than to trek off to South America and spend the year's sun-drenched months near the equator, embarking on thrilling adventures with his estranged archaeologist father, whom he's never met. Alas, the bonds of family rein in tight when Finn's booze- and coke-addled mother, the masseuse Liz (Diane Lane), cries out for help -- and, in the process, unwittingly gets Finn arrested. In a dramatic attempt to reverse circumstances and sort out the complications in both of their lives, Liz insists on taking custody of Finn for the summer. Both, she insists, will live in the home of one of her former massage clients, the aging billionaire Ogden C. Osborne (Donald Sutherland) -- with whom she may be amorously involved. Phenomenon II tells the story of an ordinary man, George Malley (Shyer), who sees a strange light bursting in the sky on his birthday and awakens the following day to find his IQ climbing and his body empowered. George wants to put his newfound gifts to good use for his mother, Nora (Clayburgh), and his small town. As the word spreads, however, he is treated instead as a freak and a rebel.
When the government wants to use George's talents for other purposes, he fears he'll become a scientific guinea pig. In the original feature film, the story ended with George going off into the hills, presumably to die. In Phenomenon II, his story continues. George escapes to San Francisco and begins a new life under an assumed identity. As he adjusts to life in the big city, he senses other people may share his new-found abilities.

Goin' South
Sentenced to hang in a backwater western town, horse thief Henry Moon (Jack Nicholson) is saved when frontierswoman Julia Tate (Mary Steenburgen) agrees to marry him. Taking advantage of the town law that prohibits the execution of married men, Moon follows Tate back to her ranch, planning all the while to escape at the first possible opportunity. But Tate insists that he honor his end of the bargain at work on the ranch. She has no intention of consummating the union, a fact that drives the hot-to-trot Moon up a wall. She puts him to work on the gold mine that she has on her property, while his old gang prepares to relieve the couple of their gold once it's on the surface. In May 2006, filmmakers John Bolton and Errin Clutton were given eight days and eight hundred dollars to produce the made-for-television disaster film "Breakdown". Unfortunately, they spent the first seven days in casting. On the eighth day, they cut together "Breakdown" with the only footage they had - the video from the casting session. This is that film. Starring Christopher Shyer, Amanda Tapping, Carly McKillip, Winston Rekert, Sonya Salomaa, Gary Chalk, William S. Taylor and Michael Coleman as themselves (as such). It's no secret that Lucasfilm took a page from the Marvel book by selecting indie directors for their new "Star Wars" films. In a recent interview, block buster directory, Ridley Scott, got candid about the "Star Wars" films, and his desire to not be apart of the franchise. When asked if he would ever want to direct one, Scott said no because it's too risky. Scott commented: “I think they like to be in control, and I like to be in control myself, when you get a guy who’s done a low-budget movie and you suddenly give him $180 million, it makes no sense whatsoever." In a recent interview, block buster directory, Ridley Scott, got candid about the "Star Wars" films, and his desire to not be apart of the franchise. When asked if he would ever want to direct one, Scott said no because it's too risky. Scott commented: “I think they like to be in control, and I like to be in control myself, when you get a guy who’s done a low-budget movie and you suddenly give him $180 million, it makes no sense whatsoever." Since Lucasfilm started making “Star Wars” films again, the production company has been taking a page from other major franchises like Marvel and selecting indie directors to direct the series’ latest installments. But “Alien” and “Blade Runner” creator Ridley Scott doesn’t think that’s such a good idea. In a candid (and profane) interview with Vulture to promote his latest film “All The Money In The World,” Scott was asked if he would be willing to direct a “Star Wars” film.

Scott pointed out that reshoots are really expensive, and Lucasfilms had to bring in big directors like Ron Howard and Tony Gilroy to finish projects and reshoots on the recent Star Wars movies.
Since Lucasfilm started making “Star Wars” films again, the production company has been taking a page from other major franchises like Marvel and selecting indie directors to direct the series’ latest installments. But “Alien” and “Blade Runner” creator Ridley Scott doesn’t think that’s such a good idea. In a candid (and profane) interview with Vulture to promote his latest film “All The Money In The World,” Scott was asked if he would be willing to direct a “Star Wars” film.

Goin' South

Sentenced to hang in a backwater western town, horse thief Henry Moon (Jack Nicholson) is saved when frontierswoman Julia Tate (Mary Steenburgen) agrees to marry him. Taking advantage of the town law that prohibits the execution of married men, Moon follows Tate back to her ranch, planning all the while to escape at the first possible opportunity. But Tate insists that he honor his end of the bargain at work on the ranch. She has no intention of consummating the union, a fact that drives the hot-to-trot Moon up a wall. She puts him to work on the gold mine that she has on her property, while his old gang prepares to relieve the couple of their gold once it's on the surface. Jack Nicholson personally selected movie newcomer Mary Steenburgen for Goin' South. The film also features John Belushi in the role of a dyspeptic deputy.
