Teen, 13, charged over Edgewater attempted robbery

The West Australian

A 13-year-old boy has been charged over an alleged attack where a black pistol was pulled on a young woman at a Perth train station.

According to Joondalup detectives, the 20-year-old victim was approached by two males while she walked on the Edgewater Train Station overbridge about 2.45pm on January 15.

One of the males asked for money before allegedly producing a black pistol from his shorts and continuing his demands.

“Believing the pistol was a plastic toy, the woman walked away from the males,” a police spokesperson said.

The males did not follow the woman from there.

Just two days after police issued an appeal to identify the two males, a police spokesperson confirmed a 13-year-old East Victoria Park boy had been charged.

He will appear in the Perth Children’s Court today charged with attempted armed robbery.
