    We just received our initial order for copies in the general collection and they should go out early next week. The and supplemental copies will follow sometime after that, but we don’t have an exact date yet. :-)

    In many of Washington's jails, 60% of the people have not been convicted of a crime. They are there because they cannot afford bail while those who can pay go free until their trial date.

    Legal advocates are trying to reform bail in the system. For many bail is out of reach. Outcome of cases are worse for people who are jailed before trial--they're less able to help their attorney & more likely to be convicted.

    SPD use of force data show statistical differences in perceived behavioral crisis or impairment between White people and people of color. White people were 1.4x more likely to be determined to be experiencing behavioral crisis than Black people. (pg. 47)
