Saving the ozone layer in the Caribbean: UNEP Awards for Policy and Implementation Leadership.
On the 8th and 9th of November 2017, the Parliament of the Republic of Trinidad and Tobago and the United Nations System hosted a regional parliamentarian retreat on “Building Caribbean Resilience” at the Hyatt Regency Hotel, Port of Spain, Trinidad, Trinidad and Tobago.
The United Nations Multi-Country Sustainable Development Framework (UN MSDF) defines how the UN will jointly achieve development results in partnership with 18 English- and Dutch-speaking Caribbean countries and Overseas Territories for the period 2017-2021.
The Government of the Republic of Trinidad and Tobago (GORTT) under the Ministry of Planning and Development (MPD), along with the United Nations Environmental Programme (UNEP), The Federal Government of Brazil (FGB) and The Environmental Management Authority (EMA) hosted the Caribbean Environmental Information Week at the Hyatt Regency Hotel.
Over 2015 to 2017 with funding from Aus Aid and in partnership with the GEF Small Grants Programme at UNDP, the Digicel Foundation embarked on a capacity building and infrastructural upgrade programme called “Preparing You!- A Disaster Preparedness and Emergency Evacuation Pilot Project for persons with special needs” .
