Kevin Godley
Kevin Michael Godley (born 7 October 1945,Prestwich, Lancashire, England) is an English musician and music video director. He is known as the drummer of the art rock band 10cc and for his collaboration outside the band with Lol Creme.
Biography
He was born in a family with Jewish ancestry, and went to North Cestrian Grammar School in Altrincham. The first band he was part of was Group 17 which had its origins in the Jewish Lads Brigade (The JLB). The members were Henri Shalam, Bernard Suffrin, Sydney Kaye and Jeffrey Baker, whose father was probably "Sergeant Baker" in the 10cc song, Rubber Bullets.
While attending art college in Manchester Godley met Lol Creme. They became part of several bands, most notably Hotlegs and 10cc. After leaving 10cc the two became known as Godley & Creme, both as musicians and film directors. They were jointly nominated for a Grammy Award for Best Music Video, Long Form for: The Police: Synchronicity Concert in 1986.
Godley writes, sings, and plays drums and percussion. In 1990, his charity production One World One Voice was released on CD in the UK. It was a CD that focused on environmental and ecological crises. Godley became a vegetarian during this period.

Deep Forest
Deep Forest is a musical group originally consisting of two French musicians, Michel Sanchez and Eric Mouquet. They compose a style of world music, sometimes called ethnic electronica, mixing ethnic with electronic sounds and dance beats or chillout beats. Their sound has been described as an "ethno-introspective ambient world music." They were nominated for a Grammy Award in 1994 for Best World Music Album, and in 1995 they won the Award for the album Boheme. The group also became World Music Awards Winner - French group with the highest 1995 world sales. Their albums have sold over 10 million copies. Michel Sanchez started his own career as singer on 2005 and Eric Mouquet continued working under "Deep Forest".
History
Michel Sanchez came up with the idea of mixing the native Baka pygmy spoken word with modern music after hearing on-site recordings of these tribes conversing. Along with Eric Mouquet they created the project Deep Forest. Their first self-titled album (nominated for a Grammy) was released in 1992, with "Sweet Lullaby" being the smash single which would put Deep Forest on the musical map (UK Top 10 hit). The song "Sweet Lullaby" is adapted from a traditional song from the Solomon Islands. The album Deep Forest was dance-driven and the samples were heavily digitised and edited. It was re-released as a limited edition in 1994 under the name World Mix.

Kevin (/ˈkɛv.ɪn/; Irish: Caoimhín [kiː.vʲiːnʲ], Middle Irish: Caoimhghín [kəiṽʲ.ʝiːnʲ], Old Irish: Cóemgein [koiṽʲ.ɣʲinʲ], Scottish Gaelic: Caomhainn, Latin: Coemgenus) is a male first name of Goidelic origin. Among the earliest famous bearers of the name was Saint Kevin, although Kevin is not a biblical name. Caoimhghín derives from the Irish caomh (Old Irish cóem) "kind, honest, handsome" and -gin (Old Irish gein) "birth". Kevin influenced the similarly Irish-derived Kelvin, as well as the Latin Calvin. "Kevin" is one of the top 100 male baby names in Chile, France, Hungary, Ireland, the Netherlands, Northern Ireland, Norway, Slovenia, Sweden and the United States. It can also be spelled Kevyn, Keven, or Kevan.
In the United Kingdom, its popularity peaked during the 1950s and 1960s, when it was frequently among the 20 most popular male first names, but by the 1990s it had fallen out of the top 100. In France, the name was very popular during the 1980s and 1990s, especially in the lower class. There is wide variation both on the pronunciation and accentation. A more Franco-Celtic pronunciation is often written as Kévin, while a consciously Anglo-American pronunciation is written without the accent. For example, French horseman Kevin Staut's and French runner Kévin Hautcœur's official websites differ, though the French media may pronounce both names similarly.

Godley & Creme
Godley & Creme were an English rock duo composed of Kevin Godley and Lol Creme. The pair began releasing albums as a duo after splitting from the pop band 10cc. In 1979 they directed their first music video for their own single "An Englishman in New York". After this, they became involved in directing videos for such artists as Ultravox, The Police, Duran Duran, Frankie Goes To Hollywood and Wang Chung, as well as directing the ground-breaking video for their own "Cry" in 1985. The duo split at the end of the 1980s and have both been involved in music videos, TV commercials, and sporadic music projects since.
Musical career
Kevin Godley and Lol Creme met in the late 1950s and for a brief time were in a band together. Through the 1960s they played in different bands, with Godley briefly in The Mockingbirds with Graham Gouldman, who would later work with Godley and Creme in 10cc.
After recording a one-off single under the name of "Yellow Bellow Room Boom" for UK CBS in 1967 ("Seeing Things Green" b/w "Still Life"), the pair began their professional music career together in 1969, performing pop music in Strawberry Studios at Stockport near Manchester with Eric Stewart and Graham Gouldman (often mistakenly referred to as being "Bubblegum Music", perhaps because they were contracted by Kasenetz & Katz, who produced bubblegum sub-teen pop in the US on the Buddah label). Their first chart success was as members of the short-lived Hotlegs, which evolved into 10cc in 1972. 10cc enjoyed chart success, most notably with their 1975 single "I'm Not in Love", a hit on both sides of the Atlantic.

I am not too keen about "Cry" by Godley & Creme, because I find the song too strange, plus I don't like the video of that song with too many changing faces, so I changed it to a soulful remake of the 10cc tune, "People In Love" by Joyce Berry, which is better than that. I'm Not In Love with Interviews with Mr Stewart, Mr Gouldman and Mr Godley Sorry no Mr Creme..........................sorry for the poor quality of this video but it is the best we have... Side 5 of the tripple LP album some info from the lysergia blogspot The first record Creme and Godley released after their departure from 10cc is a monumental, ambitious work that lasts nearly 2 hours - and it is one of my favourite records of all time. It was published 1977 in an expensive 3LP-box, probably too expensive for a number of possible buyers. The first record Creme and Godley released after their departure from 10cc is a monumental, ambitious work that lasts nearly 2 hours - and it is one of my favourite records of all time. It was published 1977 in an expensive 3LP-box, probably too expensive for a number of possible buyers. If you don’t recognize the name, Kevin Godley was a founding member of the ground breaking UK band 10cc. (Their single, “I’m Not In Love” continues to be one of the best selling records of all time). And of course “The Things We Do For Love” another big hit for the band. As one half of Godley & Creme he went on to pioneer the notion of music video as an art form and was responsible for iconic clips by artists such as Herbie Hancock, The Police, Duran Duran, Lou Reed & Frankie Goes to Hollywood etc, continuing to up his game in solo mode with U2, Frank Sinatra, Paul McCartney, The Beatles & Blur amongst others.

The first record Creme and Godley released after their departure from 10cc is a monumental, ambitious work that lasts nearly 2 hours - and it is one of my favourite records of all time. It was published 1977 in an expensive 3LP-box, probably too expensive for a number of possible buyers. I still remember it being the most expensive record i ever bought. 1991 followed a double-CD edition limited to 3000 worldwide. It was impossible to get it in a normal record shop, at last i found a used copy in a specialty shop in a foreign country and again i had to pay a real nice sum for it. With a price policy like that it is no wonder that the record always was quite rare, which is a pity because it is so wonderful.At the beginning and the end there are 2 very long instrumental parts. The first with extensive use of the gizmo, a device the two had invented to change sounds of electric guitar, from which they thought it would revolutionize the rockmusic world. But as far as i know nobody else except them ever used this thing. The second at the end "Blint´s Tune" is a parody of a classic symphony knitted together from stolen musical themes from beginning to end. Inbetween you find an audioplay with interwoven musical snippets. The story deals about Mr. Blint, a mad musician in a wheelchair who is the only person being able to save the world from going down with his music based on his weird theories (but "Blint´s Tune" reveals that it is nothing but rubbish).The whole thing is very intelligent and extremely funny from beginnig to end, the music is better than everything from them that followed on later albums. My favourite is "Sailor", a tune that impresses with it´s simplicity.This is a masterpiece that should have a place in the top ten rock records of all time!

I am not too keen about "Cry" by Godley & Creme, because I find the song too strange, plus I don't like the video of that song with too many changing faces, so I changed it to a soulful remake of the 10cc tune, "People In Love" by Joyce Berry, which is better than that. I'm Not In Love with Interviews with Mr Stewart, Mr Gouldman and Mr Godley Sorry no Mr Creme..........................sorry for the poor quality of this video but it is the best we have... Godley & Creme were an English rock duo composed of Kevin Godley and Lol Creme. The pair began releasing albums as a duo after splitting from the pop band 10cc. "A little piece of heaven" is taken from the album "Goodbye Blue Sky". The album featured backup vocals by three future members of '90s dance band Londonbeat. The single reached #26 in Germany and #17 in the Netherlands in 1988.

The album was the band's first in 9 years, and also saw the reunion of the original 10cc lineup of Eric Stewart, Graham Goldman, Lol Creme, and Kevin Godley. If you don’t recognize the name, Kevin Godley was a founding member of the ground breaking UK band 10cc. (Their single, “I’m Not In Love” continues to be one of the best selling records of all time). And of course “The Things We Do For Love” another big hit for the band. As one half of Godley & Creme he went on to pioneer the notion of music video as an art form and was responsible for iconic clips by artists such as Herbie Hancock, The Police, Duran Duran, Lou Reed & Frankie Goes to Hollywood etc, continuing to up his game in solo mode with U2, Frank Sinatra, Paul McCartney, The Beatles & Blur amongst others.
Most recently Kevin Godley thrives on re-inventing himself and SPACECAKE, his first book, takes you on an interactive tour of his life via pictures, music, film clips and 27 chapters of abstract insight into how everything from the first hits to WholeWorldBand, his music/video collaboration app, got made. In 1977, hoping to capitalize on the success of 801 Live, a revised version of 801 (now known as Phil Manzanera/801) recorded and released a studio album with additional collaborating musicians including Kevin Godley and Lol Creme of 10cc, and Tim Finn of Split Enz.
