In Time

In Time is a 2011 American dystopian science fiction action thriller film written, directed, and produced by Andrew Niccol and starring Justin Timberlake, Amanda Seyfried and Cillian Murphy that takes place in a society where people stop aging at 25 and each has a clock on their arm that counts down how long they have to live. The film was released on October 28, 2011.

Plot

In 2169, people are genetically engineered with perfect health and appearance. Each has a digital clock on their forearm; when they turn 25, they stop aging and their clock begins counting down from 1 year. When the clock reaches zero, that person "times out" and dies. Time has become the universal currency; it is used to pay for daily expenses and can be transferred between people or "time capsules" - the equivalent of wallets. The country has been divided into "time zones" based on the wealth of the population. The film focuses on two specific zones: Dayton - a poor manufacturing area where people generally have 24 hours or less on their clock at any given time - and New Greenwich - the wealthiest time zone, where people have enough time on their clock to live for centuries.

In Time is the seventh studio album released by the Americana-neotraditional country-Tex-Mex band The Mavericks on January 21, 2013, or February 26, 2013, on the Valory Music Group label, which is owned by Big Machine Records. The album was produced by Niko Bolas and Raul Malo. The album has achieved praise from the critics and according to Metacritic has garnered "universal acclaim".

The vinyl LP version of the record was pressed by United Record Pressing in Nashville, Tennessee.

The band released a video for the song "Back In Your Arms Again".

In Time reached No. 8 on the Billboard Country Albums chart and No. 39 on the Billboard 200, selling 14,000 copies in its debut week. The album has sold 75,000 copies in the US as of February 2015.

Critical

In Time received mostly positive reviews from the music critics. At Metacritic, which assigns a normalized rating out of 100 to reviews from mainstream critics, the album received an average score of 86, based on 10 reviews, which indicates "universal acclaim". The album has garnered all positive reviews, and those are from AllMusic, American Songwriter, Daily Breeze, The Huffington Post, Los Angeles Times, Lincoln Journal Star, The Oakland Press, Paste, The Philadelphia Inquirer, The Plain Dealer, PopMatters, The Salt Lake Tribune, Tampa Bay Times and the USA Today.

Junior (2008 film)

Junior is a 2008 documentary film chronicling a year in the life of Baie-Comeau Drakkar of the Quebec Major Junior Hockey League. Co-directed by Isabelle Lavigne and Stéphane Thibault and produced by the National Film Board of Canada, the film was named Best Documentary: Society at the Prix Gémeaux and Best Canadian Feature Documentary at the Hot Docs Canadian International Documentary Festival.

The film was shot in Direct Cinema style and follows players, managers, trainers, shareholders, agents and recruiters over the course of an entire season.

Junior (chess)

Junior is a computer chess program written by the Israeli programmers Amir Ban and Shay Bushinsky. Grandmaster Boris Alterman assisted, in particular with the opening book. Junior can take advantage of multiple processors, taking the name Deep Junior when competing this way in tournaments.

According to Bushinsky, one of the innovations of Junior over other chess programs is the way it counts moves. Junior counts orthodox, ordinary moves as two moves, while it counts interesting moves as only one move, or even less. In this way interesting variations are analyzed more meticulously than less promising lines. This seems to be a generalization of search extensions already used by other programs.

Another approach its designers claim to use is 'opponent modeling'; Junior might play moves that are not objectively the strongest but that exploit the weaknesses of the opponent. According to Don Dailey ″It has some evaluation that can sting if it's in the right situation—that no other program has.″

Junior is a German children's channel which has been broadcast in Germany since 1996; Dekania since 1994; Israel since 1997. In Germany, as of April, 2007, it timeshares the channel slot with XL TV (anime) after 8 PM. Former TV channels which timeshared with Junior includes K-Toon (cartoons) , Gametrix (video games), later GTV (video games), and d+ (entertainment, now RTL Nitro).

The main policy goals of Junior are: edutainment, non-violence, brand new shows and local classics. These policy goals have meant that the channel is much appreciated by younger children and their parents.

Rewind (Rascal Flatts song)

"Rewind" is a song written by Chris DeStefano, Ashley Gorley, and Eric Paslay, and recorded by American country music group Rascal Flatts. It is their 33rd single release, and the first from their ninth studio album of the same name.

Content

Bassist Jay DeMarcus told USA Today that the song "felt like a good way to bridge the gap between familiar Rascal Flatts and a new era of Rascal Flatts". "Rewind" was recorded at DeMarcus's studio; unlike their previous several albums, which were produced by Dann Huff, "Rewind" is the first time that the band has produced any of their songs by themselves. The album will also include production credits from Huff and Howard Benson.

The song is a mid-tempo ballad with prominent electric guitar. In it, the narrator wishes that he could "rewind" and experience his first encounter with his lover a second time.

Critical reception

Taste of Country staff described the song favorably, saying that it "The chorus provides a unique way of getting Rascal Flatts' romantic statement through to their audience" and "It's a familiar formula." Got Country Online's Tara Toro wrote that "The guitar riff introduction didn't excite me, but the melody and hook are very catchy. As always, Gary LeVox's vocals are strong, as are the trio's harmonies." She gave the song 4 stars out of 5. Also giving it 4 out of 5 stars, Matt Bjorke of Roughstock praised lead singer Gary LeVox's "regular vocal register" along with DeMarcus's and Joe Don Rooney's harmonies. He described it as having a "Beatles-like lead guitar" and said that it "is fresh and different for the band and that alone should help it become ...a massive radio hit."
