Today, our family needed a break! In this vlog, we decided to take a little vacation with our kids to the beach in Malibu, California. Oh.. and we needed to get our spring break and summer TAN on too! Taytum and Oakley need to make more vacation plans like this so we can get a break from busy Los Angeles. Paradise Cove in Malibu is a public beach in front of a privately-owned facility by the same name. The property and the restaurant has surfboards all around and the outside seating area has wooden lounge chairs, palm trees, and thatched umbrellas that almost has a Hawaiian feel. Ironically though with all the surfboards around the owners banned surfing for years until the California Coastal Commission forced them to allow it. The CCC also forced the owners to quit charging fees for visitors who park outside the property and walk in to the beach, but they still charge for parking on-site. If you are here for under four hours and eat at the Paradise Cove Cafe, the parking fee is cheap or free depending on the day of the week, but all-day parking at any time of the year is quite steep (see the Paradise Cove website for current parking rates). But this is a nice place and it’s worth the price of admission to use this wide sandy beach with lifeguards, clean facilities, and a private pier.
With such a name you’d expect a pretty stunning spot. It lives up to it’s name and has even been the setting for many beach scenes in Hollywood movies. Paradise Cove is a great starting point for long beach walks. Heading east you’ll walk below some Malibu mansions and find some private beaches. Heading west you can walk below steep sandstone cliffs all the way to Little Dume Beach and Big Dume Beach in Point Dume State Beach. The entrance to Paradise Cove is clearly signed at the address 28128 Pacific Coast Highway.

Daily Vlog #67 (Canon 70d vlog) - How to get over 1,000 youtube subscribers was in my head when I started uploding videos months ago. It turns out that I finally :) surpassed my goal and all it takes is a lot of time, dedication and working your hardest to put out the best content you can. I am so stoked and thankful to everyone that subscribes and really appreciate it!! Today we are continuing our Cali Van life (in our vanagon) and heading over to Malibu beach where we are going to get some awesome beach rock climbing in, vanlife is the best life. There are not to many places in the world where you can rock climb right on the beach (We did do some on tonsai beach thailand)and I am happy to have one of them in our back yard. Well almost our back yard :) After a full day of climbing we headed over to a beach campground called Leo Carillo. It's awesome to do some beach camping so close to the climbing spot because when we are done climbing food is always on my mind hahaha. We started up a campfire and cooked some deliscious food, one of the best things about camping I must say. The night ended with a night exploration mission but failed because, well, it was to dark hahah. We are super excited to be starting a new backpacking southeast asia vlog series in the next couple weeks. Bali is on our mind and can't wait to show all of you!!

How to Vlog? This is the question I asked myself as I started out the new year. I am always looking to be more creative and I decided that this year will be the year that I start a daily vlog. So sitback and step into my daily life.
Vlogging is totally new to me, but I hope to bring you on all my travels, adventures and all around exploring.
A little bit about myself:
I live in San Diego and love all things creative. I am a webmaster for work but do all sorts of things including design, photography and anything that involves using my hands or creativity.
My wife and I are avid rock climbers and love go to on adventures in our 88 Vanagon. We traveled to last year all around Mexico, China, Bali, Hawaii and throughout California and Neveda. I am hoping that 2016 will bring more excitement and more travels, so be sure to subscribe :)
I use a Canon 70d combined with a Canon G7X for all my Vlogs.

Malibu (/ˈmælᵻbuː/) is an affluent beach city in Los Angeles County, California. As of the 2010 census, the city population was 12,645. Malibu consists of a 21-mile (34 km) strip of prime Pacific coastline. Nicknamed "the 'Bu" by surfers and locals, the community is famous for its warm, sandy beaches, and for being the home of many Hollywood movie stars and others associated with the entertainment industry. Signs around the city proclaim "27 miles of scenic beauty", referring to Malibu's original length of 27 miles (43 km) before the city was incorporated in 1991.
Most Malibu residents live within a few hundred yards of Pacific Coast Highway (State Route 1), which traverses the city, with some residents living up to a mile away from the beach up narrow canyons, and many more residents of the unincorporated canyon areas identifying Malibu as their hometown. The city is also bounded by Topanga to the east, the Santa Monica Mountains (Agoura Hills, Calabasas, and Woodland Hills) to the north, the Pacific Ocean to the south, and Ventura County to the west.

Hollywood

Since the very first time I visited California, I fell in love with the way that my body would feel electric from the golden sunlight. I fell in love with the delicate chill of the breeze, and the vast kinds of faces I’d see all around me. I fell in love with pretending I could be whoever I wanted, whenever I wanted, and sensing that this magical atmosphere wouldn’t hold me back from blossoming into myself. When I met Gerardo 2 years ago, we took a trip to California together, and I shared with him all of my obsessions. He too, fell in love with my dream. I told him that I was willing to share it with him, so he brought me back to this beautiful place, as a means to celebrate my birthday no less! We were in an uber, on the way to the beach when I sensed that he was feeling tense about something, but I knew once his toes touched the sands of the shore, all of his worries would dissipate. We arrived and I began to see the smile grow on his face. I was filling up with joy to be here with him. There’s nothing more romantic than the sight of the ocean. The sea almost has a way of hypnotizing me in a matter of seconds. It always reminds me just how small I am, but somehow that’s so beautiful and comforting to me. Gerardo began filming the ocean, smiling at me every few seconds in between. I wanted to write a million songs about the way the light danced around him as he stepped through the waves rolling up. I was mesmerized. I have been for the past two years, but not as mesmerized as I would be within the next 15 minutes... He asked me to move around the beach, as he wanted to film me and document our second trip to California together. He found a spot he convinced me was perfect for the lighting and told me to turn around and admire the ocean while he adjusted some camera settings. I did just that, losing track of time and completely oblivious to what would be awaiting me when I was asked to turn back around. I finally did. My eyes noticed tiffany blue right away. I looked down and found Gerardo on one knee, ring box in hand, giant camera in the other, staring at me. I couldn’t believe it. (I’m writing this now, moments after, and it still feels surreal to me.) A beautiful baby diamond smiled up at me. I looked into Gerardo’s eyes with an expression of the deepest shock. “Quieres casarte conmigo?” (Will you marry me?) He asked. A Walk Around Paradise Cove Beach, Malibu, California
Paradise Cove in Malibu is a public beach in front of a privately-owned facility by the same name. The property and the restaurant has surfboards all around and the outside seating area has wooden lounge chairs, palm trees, and thatched umbrellas that almost has a Hawaiian feel. Ironically though with all the surfboards around the owners banned surfing for years until the California Coastal Commission forced them to allow it. The CCC also forced the owners to quit charging fees for visitors who park outside the property and walk in to the beach, but they still charge for parking on-site. Since the very first time I visited California, I fell in love with the way that my body would feel electric from the golden sunlight. I fell in love with the delicate chill of the breeze, and the vast kinds of faces I’d see all around me. I fell in love with pretending I could be whoever I wanted, whenever I wanted, and sensing that this magical atmosphere wouldn’t hold me back from blossoming into myself. Paradise Cove in Malibu is a public beach in front of a privately-owned facility by the same name. The property and the restaurant has surfboards all around and the outside seating area has wooden lounge chairs, palm trees, and thatched umbrellas that almost has a Hawaiian feel. Ironically though with all the surfboards around the owners banned surfing for years until the California Coastal Commission forced them to allow it. The CCC also forced the owners to quit charging fees for visitors who park outside the property and walk in to the beach, but they still charge for parking on-site. If you are here for under four hours and eat at the Paradise Cove Cafe, the parking fee is cheap or free depending on the day of the week, but all-day parking at any time of the year is quite steep (see the Paradise Cove website for current parking rates). But this is a nice place and it’s worth the price of admission to use this wide sandy beach with lifeguards, clean facilities, and a private pier.
With such a name you’d expect a pretty stunning spot. It lives up to it’s name and has even been the setting for many beach scenes in Hollywood movies. Paradise Cove is a great starting point for long beach walks. Heading east you’ll walk below some Malibu mansions and find some private beaches. Heading west you can walk below steep sandstone cliffs all the way to Little Dume Beach and Big Dume Beach in Point Dume State Beach. The entrance to Paradise Cove is clearly signed at the address 28128 Pacific Coast Highway.

Daily Vlog #67 (Canon 70d vlog) - How to get over 1,000 youtube subscribers was in my head when I started uploding videos months ago. It turns out that I finally :) surpassed my goal and all it takes is a lot of time, dedication and working your hardest to put out the best content you can. I am so stoked and thankful to everyone that subscribes and really appreciate it!! Today we are continuing our Cali Van life (in our vanagon) and heading over to Malibu beach where we are going to get some awesome beach rock climbing in, vanlife is the best life. There are not to many places in the world where you can rock climb right on the beach (We did do some on tonsai beach thailand)and I am happy to have one of them in our back yard. Well almost our back yard :) After a full day of climbing we headed over to a beach campground called Leo Carillo. It's awesome to do some beach camping so close to the climbing spot because when we are done climbing food is always on my mind hahaha. We started up a campfire and cooked some deliscious food, one of the best things about camping I must say. The night ended with a night exploration mission but failed because, well, it was to dark hahah. We are super excited to be starting a new backpacking southeast asia vlog series in the next couple weeks. Bali is on our mind and can't wait to show all of you!!

How to Vlog? This is the question I asked myself as I started out the new year. I am always looking to be more creative and I decided that this year will be the year that I start a daily vlog. So sitback and step into my daily life.
Vlogging is totally new to me, but I hope to bring you on all my travels, adventures and all around exploring.
A little bit about myself:
I live in San Diego and love all things creative. I am a webmaster for work but do all sorts of things including design, photography and anything that involves using my hands or creativity.
My wife and I are avid rock climbers and love go to on adventures in our 88 Vanagon. We traveled to last year all around Mexico, China, Bali, Hawaii and throughout California and Neveda. I am hoping that 2016 will bring more excitement and more travels, so be sure to subscribe :)

How to Vlog? This is the question I asked myself as I started out the new year. I am always looking to be more creative and I decided that this year will be the year that I start a daily vlog. So sitback and step into my daily life.
Vlogging is totally new to me, but I hope to bring you on all my travels, adventures and all around exploring.
A little bit about myself:
I live in San Diego and love all things creative. I am a webmaster for work but do all sorts of things including design, photography and anything that involves using my hands or creativity.
My wife and I are avid rock climbers and love go to on adventures in our 88 Vanagon. We traveled to last year all around Mexico, China, Bali, Hawaii and throughout California and Neveda. I am hoping that 2016 will bring more excitement and more travels, so be sure to subscribe :)
I use a Canon 70d combined with a Canon G7X for all my Vlogs.

Since the very first time I visited California, I fell in love with the way that my body would feel electric from the golden sunlight.
I fell in love with the delicate chill of the breeze, and the vast kinds of faces I’d see all around me. I fell in love with pretending I could be whoever I wanted, whenever I wanted, and sensing that this magical atmosphere wouldn’t hold me back from blossoming into myself.
When I met Gerardo 2 years ago, we took a trip to California together, and I shared with him all of my obsessions.
He too, fell in love with my dream.
I told him that I was willing to share it with him, so he brought me back to this beautiful place, as a means to celebrate my birthday no less!
We were in an uber, on the way to the beach when I sensed that he was feeling tense about something, but I knew once his toes touched the sands of the shore, all of his worries would dissipate.
We arrived and I began to see the smile grow on his face.
I was filling up with joy to be here with him.
There’s nothing more romantic than the sight of the ocean.
The sea almost has a way of hypnotizing me in a matter of seconds.
It always reminds me just how small I am, but somehow that’s so beautiful and comforting to me.
Gerardo began filming the ocean, smiling at me every few seconds in between. I wanted to write a million songs about the way the light danced around him as he stepped through the waves rolling up.
I was mesmerized.
I have been for the past two years, but not as mesmerized as I would be within the next 15 minutes...
He asked me to move around the beach, as he wanted to film me and document our second trip to California together. He found a spot he convinced me was perfect for the lighting and told me to turn around and admire the ocean while he adjusted some camera settings.
I did just that, losing track of time and completely oblivious to what would be awaiting me when I was asked to turn back around.
I finally did.
My eyes noticed tiffany blue right away.
I looked down and found Gerardo on one knee, ring box in hand, giant camera in the other, staring at me.
I couldn’t believe it.
(I’m writing this now, moments after, and it still feels surreal to me.)
A beautiful baby diamond smiled up at me.
I looked into Gerardo’s eyes with an expression of the deepest shock.
“Quieres casarte conmigo?”
(Will you marry me?) He asked.
I said yes.

We arrived and I began to see the smile grow on his face.
I was filling up with joy to be here with him.
There’s nothing more romantic than the sight of the ocean.
The sea almost has a way of hypnotizing me in a matter of seconds.
It always reminds me just how small I am, but somehow that’s so beautiful and comforting to me.
Gerardo began filming the ocean, smiling at me every few seconds in between. I wanted to write a million songs about the way the light danced around him as he stepped through the waves rolling up.
I was mesmerized.
I have been for the past two years, but not as mesmerized as I would be within the next 15 minutes...
He asked me to move around the beach, as he wanted to film me and document our second trip to California together. He found a spot he convinced me was perfect for the lighting and told me to turn around and admire the ocean while he adjusted some camera settings.
I did just that, losing track of time and completely oblivious to what would be awaiting me when I was asked to turn back around.
I finally did.
My eyes noticed tiffany blue right away.
I looked down and found Gerardo on one knee, ring box in hand, giant camera in the other, staring at me.
I couldn’t believe it.
(I’m writing this now, moments after, and it still feels surreal to me.)
A beautiful baby diamond smiled up at me.
I looked into Gerardo’s eyes with an expression of the deepest shock.
“Quieres casarte conmigo?”
(Will you marry me?) He asked.
I said yes.

A Walk Around Paradise Cove Beach, Malibu, California
Paradise Cove in Malibu is a public beach in front of a privately-owned facility by the same name. The property and the restaurant has surfboards all around and the outside seating area has wooden lounge chairs, palm trees, and thatched umbrellas that almost has a Hawaiian feel. Ironically though with all the surfboards around the owners banned surfing for years until the California Coastal Commission forced them to allow it. The CCC also forced the owners to quit charging fees for visitors who park outside the property and walk in to the beach, but they still charge for parking on-site. If you are here for under four hours and eat at the Paradise Cove Cafe, the parking fee is cheap or free depending on the day of the week, but all-day parking at any time of the year is quite steep (see th...

Travel Guide: Zuma Beach in Malibu California is a somewhat off the beaten path beach destination in Southern California. Compared to other busier more "touristy" beaches, this one is very clean and the people are a mix of mostly locals including beautiful girls in bikinis and surfer dudes. If your staying in Los Angeles or Santa Monica, it's a short 30 minute drive south down the Pacific Coast Highway. Plenty of parking and if you want to actually stay in Malibu, there are many Hotel or Bed and Breakfast options for lodging. If you’re looking for something a little off the beaten path, Crystal Cove is the place for you. Where else can you stay in antique cabins put together from old Hollywood movie sets? Begin your Orange County sightseeing with a history lesson. Hit the waves in Huntington Beach, then head inland to explore the theme parks. The grandfather of all amusement parks is Disneyland®: it’s stood in Anaheim since 1965. Not far away is Knott’s Berry Farm®, once a collection of relocated ghost towns that evolved into a series of rides and amusements intended to celebrate the pioneer spirit.
Do you like monkeys? Do you like to count monkeys? Head over to the Santa Ana Zoo and see how far you get. The benefactors donated the land on which it sits on the condition that there would be at least 50 primates in the collection at all times, and it’s up to you to make sure that promise is kept.
Despite its various architectural marvels, theme parks, and numerous activities, Orange County is famed for something much simpler: its sunsets. Head over to the nearest beach and watch the sun disappear into the Pacific today.

Paradise Cove in Malibu is a public beach in front of a privately-owned facility by the same name. The property and the restaurant has surfboards all around and the outside seating area has wooden lounge chairs, palm trees, and thatched umbrellas that almost has a Hawaiian feel. Ironically though with all the surfboards around the owners banned surfing for years until the California Coastal Commission forced them to allow it. The CCC also forced the owners to quit charging fees for visitors who park outside the property and walk in to the beach, but they still charge for parking on-site. If you are here for under four hours and eat at the Paradise Cove Cafe, the parking fee is cheap or free depending on the day of the week, but all-day parking at any time of the year is quite steep (see the Paradise Cove website for current parking rates). But this is a nice place and it’s worth the price of admission to use this wide sandy beach with lifeguards, clean facilities, and a private pier.
With such a name you’d expect a pretty stunning spot. It lives up to it’s name and has even been the setting for many beach scenes in Hollywood movies. Paradise Cove is a great starting point for long beach walks. Heading east you’ll walk below some Malibu mansions and find some private beaches. Heading west you can walk below steep sandstone cliffs all the way to Little Dume Beach and Big Dume Beach in Point Dume State Beach. The entrance to Paradise Cove is clearly signed at the address 28128 Pacific Coast Highway.
