Cameron Arthur "Cam" Clarke (born November 6, 1957) is a prolific American voice actor and singer, known for his voice-work in animation and video games. He is best known for providing the voices of Leonardo and Rocksteady in the original Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles animated series and Shotaro Kaneda in the 1989 original English dub of Akira. He often voices teenagers and other similarly young characters. One of his prominent roles in video games was voicing Liquid Snake in the Metal Gear series.
Clarke began his acting career in the show The Hollywood Palace as the The King Family Show. He continued to perform with his family on various TV specials until the 1980s when he got his first voice acting roles in the animated shows Snorks and Robotech. Clarke was taught by established voice actor Michael Bell. Clarke is best known for his roles as Kaneda in Katsuhiro Otomo's Akira (Streamline-dub), Max Sterling and Lancer in the 1985 Robotech series, Rigadon in Around the World with Willy Fog, Dogtanian in Dogtanian and the Three Muskehounds, Leonardo and Rocksteady in the first Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles animated series, Wolfgang Mozart in the Jem episode Journey Through Time and Liquid Snake in the popular Metal Gear Solid series of video games. Clarke is also the voice of Prince Adam and He-Man in the 2002 version of He-Man and the Masters of the Universe TV series. He is also known to RPG fans as Ryudo in Grandia II, Kratos Aurion in Tales of Symphonia and Will Raynard in Tales of Legendia. He voices the male Blood Elf in World of Warcraft: The Burning Crusade. He uses a voice similar to Liquid Snake's for this portrayal. To date, Clarke has voiced over one hundred titles. Cam is easily recognizable by his distinct voice which can fluctuate from adolescent sounding (Leonardo) to deep and soothing (Kratos) and to a faux British (Liquid Snake). He also acts as Pavel in the popular Neverwinter Nights PC release.
Clarke is an Anglo-Irish surname which means "clerk". The surname is of English and Irish origin but the original word comes from Latin for clericus. There are some surname variants, including Clark and Clerk.Clarke is also uncommonly chosen as a given name.
Clarke is a popular surname in Ireland. The Irish version of the surname is believed to have come from County Galway and County Antrim and spread to County Donegal and County Dublin. The name is derived from the Irish Gaelic sept O'Cleirigh, meaning "clerk".
Clarke as well as Clark is also a widespread surname in England. The English version comes from Anglo-Saxon origin and was used in the Middle Ages for the name of a scribe or secretary. The word "clerc" came from the pre 7th Century Olde English "Cler(e)c" (meaning priest) originally denoted to a member of a religious order only, but later grew rapidly outside the religious order. In the Middle Ages virtually the only people who could read and write were members of the religious order, making the word heavily associated with literacy. Thus the surname became a popular term for a literate man, particularly for the professional secretary and the scholar. The English surnames "Clarke" and "Clark" are both spelling variations of the surname "Clerk".
The Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles (often shortened to TMNT or Ninja Turtles) are four fictional teenage anthropomorphic turtles who are named after four Renaissance Italian artists. They were trained by their anthropomorphic rat sensei in the art of ninjutsu. From their home in sewers of New York City, they battle petty criminals, evil overlords, mutated creatures, and alien invaders while attempting to remain hidden from society. They were created by Kevin Eastman and Peter Laird.
The characters originated in comic books published by Mirage Studios before expanding into cartoon series, films, video games, toys, and other general merchandise. During the peak of the franchise's popularity in the late 1980s and early 1990s, it gained considerable worldwide success and fame.
The Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles first appeared in an American comic book published by Mirage Studios in 1984 in Dover, New Hampshire. The concept arose from a humorous drawing sketched out by Eastman during a casual evening of brainstorming and bad television with Laird. Using money from a tax refund, together with a loan from Eastman’s uncle, the young artists self-published a single-issue comic intended to parody four of the most popular comics of the early 1980s: Marvel Comics’ Daredevil and New Mutants, Dave Sim’s Cerebus, and Frank Miller’s Ronin. The TMNT comic series has been published in various incarnations by various comic book companies since 1984.
Liquid Snake (Japanese: リキッド・スネーク, Hepburn: Rikiddo Sunēku) is a fictional character from Konami's Metal Gear series.
Introduced in Metal Gear Solid, Liquid Snake is Solid Snake's twin brother and Big Boss's second clone via the Les Enfants Terribles project. In contrast to the other members of FOXHOUND who are referred primarily by their animal codenames (e.g. Ocelot, Mantis, Wolf), he is commonly referred to simply as "Liquid" due to "Snake" being the common name for his brother. Raised in the United Kingdom following his birth, Liquid served as an operative for the British SAS and later became the field commander of FOXHOUND prior to the events of the game. One of Liquid's motivations is his hatred towards Snake, as Liquid believes that Snake received all of Big Boss's superior genes, and that he was destined to be inferior. After the game's credits, it is revealed that Liquid was intentionally deceived in order to drive him to carry on with Big Boss's legacy. Liquid resembles Snake in terms of facial appearance and physique, with the primary differences being his different skin tone and medium-length blond hair, as well as a tattoo of a snake entwined around a sword on his left arm.
Metal Gear (Japanese: メタルギア, Hepburn: Metaru Gia) is a series of action-adventure stealth video games, created by Hideo Kojima and developed and published by Konami. The first game, Metal Gear, was released in 1987 for the MSX2. The player takes control of a special forces operative Solid Snake who is assigned to find the titular superweapon "Metal Gear", a bipedal walking tank with the ability to launch nuclear weapons. Several sequels have been released for multiple consoles after requests from Konami to produce new Metal Gear games. The sequels expand the original game's plot adding new characters opposing and supporting Snake, while there have also been a few prequels exploring the origins of the Metal Gear and recurring characters. Various parts were inspired by Hollywood films with character's names, settings and artworks often referencing them.
Other notable traits are cinematic cut scenes, intricate storylines, offbeat and fourth wall humor, and exploration of political and philosophical themes, with references to Hollywood films to add flavor. As of March 2015, 41.2 million copies of the game franchise have been sold worldwide, with individual installments having been critically and commercially acclaimed and having received several awards. The franchise has also been adapted into other media such as comics, novels, and drama CDs. Snake also appeared as a guest character in Super Smash Bros. Brawl.

At Indiana Comic Con, the next voice actor I met was Cam Clarke (aka 1987's TMNT Leonardo & Rocksteady). I asked him about how the chemistry was between him and the rest of the turtle gang during recordings. He was so encouraging and supportive when talking about voice over & acting. It was so fun to improvise with him! Such a fun & refreshing person!!
Cam Clarke is one hell of a brother!

A great and very important scene that discusses Les enfants terribles and the cloning process. Liquid discusses his and Snake's Identity and purpose in life and feels they are controlled by their genes. Incredible acting by Cam Clarke. Sorry about the small audio bug at 7 mins Uploaded by Dogg

This talk was surprisingly given an the first Smashing Conference. Andy Clarke did not plan to talk at all and wrote this session just the day before he was on stage. A nice talk on the integration of clients into your projects. Andy has written a nice blog post about his talk at Smashing Conference (http://bynd.it/andyatsmashingconf) and an article on this subject short after Smashing Conference in the Smashing Magazine (http://bynd.it/andyatsmashingmag). Thanks a lot Andy for this nice talk! Stay up to date about Smashing Conference: http://smashingconf.com http://twitter.com/smashingconf (During the last 5 to 6 minutes of this talk we had a dropout on the long shot camera which also has the good audio channel. Therefore we had to take the audio for the last bit of the room mic from t...
