Edrick Browne is an actor/filmmaker who, in his spare time, takes on projects that give back to the community. And that's how he found himself teaching a theater class at the Carol Vance Prison in Richmond, Texas. He taught inmates about running equipment on a TV shoot, and they in turn documented their experiences of life after prison in an eight-part series called "After the Bid."
Houston Matters producer Edel Howlin talked with Edrick Browne and Success Nwosu, a cast member and cameraman for the series.
Edel began by asking Edrick where the idea came from to teach these skills to inmates.

Bobby Kalinowski (Rob Van Dam), is a former Navy Seal enjoys a peaceful life as a landscape architect in Louisiana with his family. After receiving an invitation from new neighbors Clay Freeman (Edrick Browne) and Elise Freeman (Ava Santana), they go out for a night on the town to a famous club. The evening soon takes a turn for the worse when Bobby gets into a conflict with one of the club owners, named Ethan Bordas (Ross Britz). In the middle of the conflict, Ethan accidentally falls and is stabbed by his own knife, while fighting with Bobby, who was defending his wife.
Seeking revenge, Ethan's father Seth Bordas (Jerry Katz), a previously thought to be his brother, puts a $100,000 bounty on Bobby's head. Also making matters difficult, Bobby is unable to receive help from the law, for Seth has Clay Freeman, and a corrupt police sergeant, working for him. Now Bobby must survive and escape Louisiana while being hunted by criminals, corrupt law, and many others in the city. To protect his family and neighbors, Bobby decides to separate himself from them and goes to his Navy Seal colleague Big Ronnie (David Bautista) (or known as B.R.) for help. B.R. initially refuses, deciding to take the bounty, but later changes his mind and helps Bobby. Seth targets Bobby’s family and kidnaps his 16 year old daughter Brianna (Brooke Frost). However, Bobby ends up fighting and killing Seth and his henchmen with B.R.'s help, and rescues his daughter.
In order to save his kidnapped daughter, an ex-Marine is forced to take on a gang of killers when an accident leaves the brother of a malicious criminal dead.

David Michael "Dave" Bautista Jr. (born January 18, 1969) is an American actor and former professional mixed martial artist and professional wrestler. He was signed to WWE under the ring name Batista. He is a six-time world champion, winning the World Heavyweight Championship four times and the WWE Championship twice. He had the longest ever reign as World Heavyweight Champion, and has won the World Tag Team Championship three times (twice with Ric Flair and once with John Cena) and the WWE Tag Team Championship once (with Rey Mysterio). He was the winner of the 2005 Royal Rumble match and went on to headline WrestleMania 21, one of the top five highest-grossing pay-per-view events in professional wrestling history. Batista returned to WWE and won the 2014 Royal Rumble match, after which he headlined WrestleMania XXX.
In August 2012, Bautista signed a contract with Classic Entertainment & Sports to fight in mixed martial arts. He won his MMA debut on October 6, 2012, and defeating Vince Lucero via TKO in the first round. He was representing the Philippines. As an actor, Bautista has starred in The Man with the Iron Fists (2012), Riddick (2013), Guardians of the Galaxy (2014), the 24th James Bond film, Spectre (2015), L.A. Slasher (2015), and will appear in the Kickboxer reboot in 2016. He has also appeared in several direct-to-video films since 2009.

Rob Van Dam
Robert Alex "Rob" Szatkowski (born December 18, 1970), better known by his ring name Rob Van Dam (frequently abbreviated to RVD), is an American professional wrestler and occasional actor. He is best known for his appearances with Extreme Championship Wrestling (ECW) in the late 1990s, with the World Wrestling Federation/World Wrestling Entertainment (WWF/E) in the early to mid-2000s, and then with Total Nonstop Action Wrestling (TNA) in the early 2010s.
Between ECW, WWF/E and TNA Van Dam has won 21 total championships (including being a three-time world champion) and is the only wrestler in history to have held the WWE Championship, the ECW World Heavyweight Championship, and the TNA World Heavyweight Championship (including holding the WWE and ECW titles simultaneously within WWE). Van Dam is also the 2006 Money in the Bank winner, a WWE Triple Crown Champion, and a WWE Grand Slam Champion. Van Dam gained his mainstream popularity by 1998 when he won the ECW World Television Championship, which he held for a record 700 days. Bobby Kalinowski (Rob Van Dam), is a former Navy Seal enjoys a peaceful life as a landscape architect in Louisiana with his family. After receiving an invitation from new neighbors Clay Freeman (Edrick Browne) and Elise Freeman (Ava Santana), they go out for a night on the town to a famous club. The evening soon takes a turn for the worse when Bobby gets into a conflict with one of the club owners, named Ethan Bordas (Ross Britz). In the middle of the conflict, Ethan accidentally falls and is stabbed by his own knife, while fighting with Bobby, who was defending his wife.
Seeking revenge, Ethan's father Seth Bordas (Jerry Katz), a previously thought to be his brother, puts a $100,000 bounty on Bobby's head. Also making matters difficult, Bobby is unable to receive help from the law, for Seth has Clay Freeman, and a corrupt police sergeant, working for him. Now Bobby must survive and escape Louisiana while being hunted by criminals, corrupt law, and many others in the city. To protect his family and neighbors, Bobby decides to separate himself from them and goes to his Navy Seal colleague Big Ronnie (David Bautista) (or known as B.R.) for help. B.R. initially refuses, deciding to take the bounty, but later changes his mind and helps Bobby. Seth targets Bobby’s family and kidnaps his 16 year old daughter Brianna (Brooke Frost). However, Bobby ends up fighting and killing Seth and his henchmen with B.R.'s help, and rescues his daughter.
In order to save his kidnapped daughter, an ex-Marine is forced to take on a gang of killers when an accident leaves the brother of a malicious criminal dead.
