Brisbane used-car dealership 'complete write-off' after early-morning fire

An inner-Brisbane car dealership has been gutted by fire, with up to 25 firefighters battling the blaze on Saturday morning and three lanes closed around the building.

The walls and roof of the two-storey building collapsed as the fire took hold, with a Queensland Fire and Emergency Service spokeswoman describing the building as a "complete write-off".

Surrounding streets remained closed throughout the morning as fire investigators examined the scene.

Emergency services were called to the used car building attached to the Metro Nissan car dealership on Lutwyche Road in Windsor about 4.15am.

Australian Traffic Network reporter Ben Mihan said three northbound lanes of Lutwyche Road and surrounding residential streets were closed as crews fought to control the fire.

Paramedics were on standby but there were no injuries, according to a Queensland Ambulance Service spokeswoman.

Mr Mihan said all lanes of Lutwyche Road reopened by 9.15am but surrounding residential streets remained closed as fire investigators looked into the cause of the blaze.
