Rigoberto Urán

Rigoberto Urán Urán, ODB (born 26 January 1987) is a Colombian professional road racing cyclist, currently riding for UCI World Tour team Cannondale.

At the 2012 Summer Olympics, he won a silver medal in the road race. He became the first Colombian ever to make the podium of the Giro d'Italia, when he finished second behind Vincenzo Nibali in the 2013 edition of the race, having taken leadership of Team Sky following the abandonment of team captain Bradley Wiggins. He also won a mountain-top stage in that race with a solo breakway. The previous year, he had won the white jersey for best young rider, and a seventh-place finish overall. In the 2014 Giro d'Italia he finished second again in the general classification, this time behind countryman Nairo Quintana.

Early life

Urán was first introduced to the world of cycling at the age of 14 by his father, who was assassinated a few months later by one of the country's paramilitary terrorist groups. Rigoberto had to take his place as a lottery seller to help his family and at the age of 16 he turned professional and moved to Medellín to ride for Orgullo Paisa, a Colombian cycling team.

Uran

Uran is part of Navi Mumbai city on the western coast of India. It lies in the Raigad district, east of Mumbai across the Dharamtar Creek. Uran is primarily a fishing village, which has developed into the special economic zone of Uran. The primary language spoken is Agri.

History

The city name derived from the Hindu goddess Uranavati. It was called Uruvan during the rule of Madhavrao I, the fourth Peshwa of the Maratha Empire. Later, the area was named Uran by the Portuguese and Ooran by the British.

Many Indian dynasties have ruled the area. In early history, these included the Maurya Empire, SÄ?tavÄ?hana Empire, Western Kshatrapas, VÄ?kÄ?á¹­aka Empire, Chalukyas, and Yadavas.

The area around Mumbai was under Portuguese and British rule in the 16th to 19th centuries.

Uran was subject to the Maratha princely states in the Maharashtra. Uran was once the base of the famous Maratha Sarkhel (Admiral) Kanhoji Angre, who battled European naval interests in the 18th century.

Uran is located at 18°53′N 72°56′E / 18.88°N 72.94°E / 18.88; 72.94. Uran has an average elevation of 21 metres (69 ft).

Uran Vidhan Sabha constituency (Marathi: उरण विधानसभा मतदारसंघ) is one of the 288 Vidhan Sabha (legislative assembly) constituencies in Maharashtra state in western India.

Overview

Uran constituency is one of the seven Vidhan Sabha constituencies located in the Raigad district. and comprises the entire Uran tehsil and parts of the Khalapur and Panvel tehsils of the district.

Uran is part of the Maval Lok Sabha constituency along with five other Vidhan Sabha segments, namely Karjat and Panvel in the Raigad district and Maval, Chinchwad and Pimpri in the Pune district.

Astro Boy (Tetsuwan Atomu; "Mighty Atom" in Japanese versions) - The robot boy fashioned after Tobio Tenma (Astor Boynton III in the B/W American translation) by his father, the head of the Institute of Science in the year 2000. Aside from possessing the strength of 100,000 horsepower (later 1,000,000) and the kind personality of a child, he has what are called his "seven amazing powers": jet-powered flight, multilingualism, analytical skills, headlight eyes, super-sensitive hearing, hidden weapons in his back, and the ability to tell if a person is good or evil. In addition, he has a built-in geiger counter and shortwave communication system.

Uran (Uran)/Zoran/Astro Girl - Atom's cybernetic sister with a shown adoration towards Atom; she is a superhuman robot with a naive, tomboyish personality. Constructed by Dr. Ochanomizu as a "gift" for Atom, Uran is an extremely mischievous little girl who constantly lands her older brother in trouble. While lacking Atom's weaponry and propulsion systems, she is extremely powerful (50,000 horsepower) and regularly accompanies him on various missions (or attempts to). Like Atom, she is fully capable of experiencing human emotions - though being somewhat less 'mature'. Uran first appeared in Episode 35 (Uran) under the misleading name Astrogirl (due to the fact it sounds more like a female dubbed version of the protagonist; in the manga she has always been known as Uran, although in the 2000 anime series she was renamed Zoran, despite this being a male name). In the 2003 anime and Naoki Urasawa's Pluto Uran has the ability to communicate with animals. In the Canadian version of Astroboy, she is dubbed as "Sarah".
