    I’d be lying if I said I wasn’t stressed how the finale was received. I did NOT want to direct it. I was scared of the heat it would get if it didn’t measure up. Which is the exact reason why I know I needed to. So glad y’all received it in the spirit it was made.

    The finale approach was really about movement. If you notice the camera is always moving in some way until there’s a reason for us to stop and slow down.

    When I say the 20 day finale shoot almost killed me, this is what I meant. Every day I’d be I mentally and creatively exhausted, but then either Issa, Yvonne or Jay would say something to make me laugh and I’d get back in. See how much y’all matter to me. Lol.

    I won’t share what was shared because that didn’t make it in the scene. The moment Issa realized it was the first time it cuts to Issa after Molly begins and then every shot of Issa in a close up after that

    It is rare that a series finale is the actual best episode of a show, especially when that show is already good, but did it. What a show, what an incredible thing. All props to , and the rest of staff, cast & crew. Hella, hella good, y'all.

    That was a scene we talked about early on when writing this. Was that the mirror her would no longer be a crutch for her. She would live or die with her decisions.

    It was perfect . Absolutely perfect . It was the ending that the show deserved. Every single character got what they wanted, maybe not exactly the way they wanted it, but maybe the way they needed it. And that’s life. Thank you for a beautiful show.
