You Make Me

"You Make Me" is a song written and recorded by Swedish DJ, remixer and record producer Avicii and Swedish musician and singer Salem Al Fakir in collaboration with Swedish songwriter Vincent Pontare and producer Arash Pournouri. It was produced for Avicii's debut studio album, True and appears as the second track on the album. The song was released as the second single from True on 30 August 2013 as a follow-up to "Wake Me Up". The single made its worldwide debut on BBC Radio 1's The Pete Tong Show on 16 August.

Music video

A lyric video for "You Make Me" made by Jesper Eriksson was uploaded to Avicii's VEVO YouTube account on 30 August 2013. The video depicted city scenes (from, among others, Bangkok, Bochum, Chicago and Tokyo) heavily using the miniature photography technique.

The official music video, directed by Sebastian Ringler premiered on the same channel on 16 September 2013, in which according to Vevo "down at the skate rink a little bit of jealousy explodes into ninja battle". The official video has received more than 60 million views as of January 2016.

Make Me Wanna

"Make Me Wanna" is a song co-written and recorded by American bro-country artist Thomas Rhett. It was released in August 2014 as the fifth single from his debut album, It Goes Like This.

Content

The song is a mid-tempo with "high-toned guitars and a slowly building chorus" and a "sensitive and sexy delivery" about a man expressing his feelings to his lover. Rhett describes the song as having a Bee Gees sound.

Critical reception

The song has mostly been met with positive reception, mainly for its disco influences. Bob Paxman of Country Weekly rated the single "B+", comparing its sound to "the candy coated days of Air Supply and Andy Gibb". He thought that it was "sure to nestle easily with the female audience" and was "pleasant, if not exactly outstanding", and criticized the "references to tailgating and trucks". Writing for Taste of Country, Carrie Horton wrote that "But while the lyrics may sound a bit too much like what’s already out there, the melody makes up for it ten times over. The Bee Gees-inspired tune features staccato drum and piano undertones that echo famous disco hits like ‘Stayin' Alive,’ but with a perfect blend of twangy guitars to keep the song’s sound just true enough for any pure country fan. Liv Carter of Little Rebellion gave the song two thumbs down, criticizing the production and unoriginality of the lyric. She summarized her review by saying, "This is an uncreative lyric inexplicably paired with 1970s pop. Which means it will probably be a big hit."

"You Make Me Wanna..." is a song by American recording artist Usher. It was released by LaFace Records and Arista Records as the lead single from Usher's second studio album, My Way on August 5, 1997. "You Make Me Wanna..." was written by Usher along with Jermaine Dupri and Manuel Seal, who both produced the tune. An R&B, soul and pop ballad in C minor, it makes use of acoustic guitar, hi-hat and bell instrumentation.
